CYGNI CITY GRAND PRIX
Some months ago, a mysterious investor purchased some land slated for development on the outskirts of Cygni City. Such is not unusual in Stellara’s grandest city; business is the lifeblood of the city and it’s more unusual for a day to pass where such a transaction doesn’t take place. However, the unknown buyer has done nothing with it; that is, until now.
Under the name Ess Co., the land has recently started undergoing major development: hundreds upon hundreds of workers and worker-Pokemon have streamed to the site, thousands of tons of material are delivered to the building each day. The scene has turned into a buzzing, hive-like area: like a swarm of Combees rushing to build a nest. Rumor has it amongst the various businesses that the company intends to build a skyscraper unlike any other: one that is as robust in area as it is height. Supposedly, Ess Co. plans to make it the new hub of business in Cygni, intending to offer leases to companies across the globe for penny prices- unheard of in one of the largest cities in the world.
However, that’s not all. Recently, the enigmatic Ess Co. has sent emails to all the major Pokemon institutes in Stellara, including the renowned Stellara League. The emails speak of a grand opportunity for Pokemon Trainers all over Stellara: a glorious tournament- the Cygni City Grand Prix, sponsored by Ess Co.! What’s more is that Ess Co. also intends to build a massive stadium on the top floor, whilst also reserving subterranean levels for Pokemon arenas to host the preliminaries.
With this announced, fliers go up around the region in every Pokemon center and trainer gathering spot, announcing the tournament. Announcements are made on television, cameras flocking to the scene so that they might get a glimpse of incredible origins.
And across Stellara trainers are readying themselves for the tournament, training intensely so that they might claim the glory of winning the Cygni City Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix starts in several months and Ess Co. is already taking names for participation. Who will be ready for it? And who will stand atop the world as victor?
The Cygni City is an IC event slated to run on site some time around early-to-mid June. It is a tournament, similar to arcs from the anime, with people facing off until one is crowned the victor! Now, before you jump at the chance to sign-up for the Grand Prix, here are some things you ought to know:
-The prizes are as follows: 100 PD for first, 75 PD for second, 50 PD for third. Everyone else gets a 10 PD bonus just for participating. These rewards will be distributed at the end of the Grand Prix, or when your run in it comes to an end- whichever comes first.
-Characters who lose will receive a bonus to their rewards for the thread they lose in!
-Pending the site's average level come time for the Grand Prix, there may be a level cap instituted for the fights themselves. In-character, this will be explained as special energy fields- similar to those used by facilities such as the Battle Frontier- to suppress Pokemon power to more muted levels.
Only ONE of your characters can be a part of the Grand Prix. Choose carefully!
-In addition to the IC rules laid down by Ess Co. at the time of the tournament, OOCly participants are expected to keep this event drama free. This means participating with grace and accepting any staff rulings that come as a result of the battles that take place. Those who become belligerent or attempt to OOCly harass, degrade, or otherwise behave in some negative manner will be subject to removal from the tournament and further punishment pending the severity of their offense.
-TEAM CRUX BONUS: Team Crux has special interest in this tournament and is sponsoring members from its own ranks to join in- though they expect you to be on your best behavior while you're there. They don't need any unwanted attention. Rumor also has it they're looking for promising grunts to promote to the higher tiers of the organization!
What this means is: Crux members who sign-up for the Cygni City Grand Prix will be given a FREE Level 20 Pokemon of their choice. However, beware! These Pokemon are not bundles of sunshine. The personalities are always staff generated and are rather static- they are, of course, specially trained by Team Crux for combat!
However, if a member fails to follow through on the tournament, there will be repercussions. . . including, losing the Pokemon that they were given! However, all members who faithfully and actively compete in the tournament will be able to keep their assigned Pokemon, whether they win or lose!
This Crux bonus applies ONLYto Crux members who sign-up for the tournament! However, even new characters are eligible for this bonus. The only restriction is that you must sign-up for the tournament and actively participate. Please mind that when deciding which character you want to use for this tournament.
Pokemon will be distributed at time of sign-up. When attempting to claim your Crux Pokemon, please link your shop thread in your sign up post below.
OOCly, the Pokemon is of your choice, barring our usual rules! Please specify what you wish to receive! Or if you want to leave it up to fate, just tell us to give you a random Pokemon!
