PERSONALITY
Honoka is extremely friendly, as evident by the near constant smile on her face. She loves meeting new people and making new friends. She almost loves making new enemies just as much, actually. A new enemy to her is a new chance for a battle, a new competition in whatever it may be. She's a generally cheery person with a normally positive outlook on life. She never had to worry about self esteem issues (obviously, as she would say) when it comes to looks. She sometimes does have self esteem issues, however, when it comes to her Pokemon. It isn't that she gets embarrassed by them, she feels inadequate as a trainer or breeder when they lose a battle or fail to make any eggs. She doesn't blame the Pokemon as much as she blames herself for not being good enough at what she's doing.
She is a fiery person, and fiercely competitive at times. Usually to a fault, as her competitiveness can get her into situations way above her own skill set. She often ends up in over her head when this happens. Combine that with her temper, and that can be a nasty thing. She has a rough temper, and has this habit of lashing out at people because of it, usually verbally. She'd never lash out at her Pokemon, or so she tells herself. She's never had a reason to thus far, and she tries her best not to get angry at them, which usually ends up with her getting angry at herself.
Honoka cries easily, getting emotional often at the smallest things. She'll cry happy tears, sad tears, angry tears. She smiles big and she cries big and, as mentioned, gets angry big. She's incredibly loyal to her friends, and even more to her Pokemon. She usually gets the same loyalty in return, at least when it comes to Pokemon. People can be a little more fickle, but Honoka likes to believe when she's made a friend that they'll be just as fiercely loyal as she is to them.
Frankly, she's a bit of a gossip. And by a bit, you can assume she is a BIG gossip. She loves to gossip, and any little juicy tidbit about something she is interested in or someone she knows, or something around the breeding business, she'll be there. If she thinks she can use it to her advantage, she'll be there. This can make her seem (and don't be fooled, she most certainly can be) somewhat manipulative. After all, what good is gossip if you can't use it to your advantage, right? However, when she is dealing within her business and needs to be professional, no matter how much gossip might be around, she'll resist until the job gets done. At least, normally.
BACKGROUND
Honoka was born in the Kalos region, despite having grown up mostly in and currently living in Stellara. Her history really starts with her grandmother, when she was a young woman. Her grandmother started the breeding farm that Honoka now owns with her mother when she was about as young as Honoka is now. Her grandmother's brother was a trainer, and he often took her along when he went to the cities in Kalos, or she would watch his battles whenever she could at the Gyms. It was something she'd dreamed of, but she was never brave enough to travel around like that. One time, when her brother took her to the city, she saw a couple of Breeders advertising their services. She was drawn to it immediately, and spent the afternoon asking them about their work while her brother did whatever it was he did when he went into the big cities. When she went home, she decided that was what she wanted to do. Her brother caught her her first few Pokemon, and helped her buy a ranch when she got older to host her business in. Being a successful trainer apparently helped with things like that, as he never seemed short on money.
And so, Honoka's grandmother started what would become the family business, inherited by the oldest girl in the family line each time. When her mother inherited the shop, she decided to expand it. So, her mother and her father, shortly after they got married, moved to Stellara to expand the Breeding business her grandmother started. They bought a decent sized ranch of 19 acres and brought along several of the Pokemon that had accumulated over the years from the ranch in Kalos. They sold the Kalos ranch to some friends who Honoka's grandmother had known, though they kept in touch. For four years, Honoka's mother built the Breeder ranch's reputation in Stellara. During that time, her mother became pregnant with Honoka's brother, and then herself. Her mother made a trip to Kalos to get a number of Pokemon for breeding from that region, but they had to cut the business trip short as Honoka decided it was time to be born about half a month early. They interrupted the trip to take Honoka's mother to the nearby hospital in the Kalosian city, and she was born, a screaming baby girl with tufts of blonde hair sticking out in all directions.
Honoka grew up in Stellara, though because of her Kalosian family history, she is just as fluent in their language as she is in Stellara's. The Dratini she has with her normally her parents got for her as a present when she turned seven. Her childhood up until then was spent hanging around the ranch playing with the pokemon and helping take care of the eggs. Her Dratini followed her everywhere she went. The two even slept together in the same bed. When she grew up a little more, after having had some experience playing trainer in the backyard with her Dratini and the other Pokemon, Honoka told her parents she wanted to become a real trainer. Her mother and father didn't approve. After all, she was the eldest girl, and the tradition was that the ranch would be inherited by the eldest girl in the family. She had an older brother who had gone and become a trainer a few years earlier, just like her grandmother's brother had. But Honoka was determined to do this, despite her parents' disapproval.
So one night, a few days after the fight with her parents about becoming a trainer, Honoka packed what she thought she would need, got her Dratini and two other pokemon whom she had become very fond of and vice versa, a few pokeballs that were sitting around the shop, and went to become a trainer. She left a note to her parents telling them exactly what she was doing, that she was going back to Kalos to do this, and that she was determined to become as big a trainer as her grandmother's brother was. Her mother was distraught, and her father was angry, but they forgave her and just hoped she would be okay on her own.
Honoka had a hard time starting out. While she did have some previous knowledge of Pokemon thanks to her parents and the ranch, she didn't have much of any knowledge to be a trainer proper. For her first few months, she lost every battle she came across. That developed her temper from a child's temper tantrums into the temper she has now. Though, as a trainer, she was much more explosive temper wise.
When she turned thirteen, she figured she should attempt to find some outlet for her anger after she put a trainer who had hurt one of her pokemon in the hospital. It had been after a battle she had won, and the other trainer, having gotten upset at losing, came up and kicked her Dratini hard in the side. She got so angry she beat the other trainer half to death and made him pay for her Dratini's health out of pocket (basically, she mugged him). She realized maybe her anger was a problem, and so she turned to another way to disperse her anger. She learned how to fight with a whip.
It often took so much concentration when she was learning that she didn't have time to get angry, and she found that with a weapon in her hands she would begin to think twice about striking another person again. She didn't often end up having to use the whip, though, despite her ability to use it. Much of her free time for several years was taken up in learning how to use and control the whip properly to fight with, without cracking herself with it in the back of the legs or her back.
By the time she was 15, Honoka had managed to collect two gym badges. She wasn't quite as successful as her grandmother's brother had been, but she was certainly satisfied with herself, having become better than her older brother. She got a letter one day from her family. Her mother had gotten sick and could no longer take care of the shop. Whatever illness she'd had had taken her body and made her incredibly weak, though she'd survived. The doctors didn't think she would ever be back to full strength, however, and so her parents asked her to come home and take over the shop.
Honoka may have left because she was angry with her parents for not allowing her to become a trainer, but she had done it anyway and she loved her parents all the same. So, she went home to learn how to take care of the shop. She wasn't exactly happy with it, but she loved her parents enough to come home and do it. She hung her two badges on the wall behind the counter in the front of the shop, and learned again how to do what her parents did.
Her mother was around often, though she was now mostly confined to a wheelchair most days. Some days she was too weak to get out of bed, but those were few and far between, thankfully. Her mother slowly taught her how to take orders and breed the Pokemon together, and about the chances of different egg types. Everything a Breeder would need to know to continue her job. Over the next two years, Honoka learned quite a bit, and she started to become fairly successful. The fact that the Sato family name was fairly well known certainly helped, especially around the bigger city where people knew Honoka's mother. They found her different than her mother but she did her best to be charming and likable around them as well, so as to build proper business relationships. For the most part, it worked, and she has some fairly decent business connections. She still spends the majority of her time as a trainer, and wants to beat the gyms now in Stellara like she had started to in Kalos. She'll help her mother when she needs it, but most of her time is spent training and catching new pokemon.

ABILITY — Shed Skin
HELD ITEM — N/A
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 1.6m
WEIGHT — 3kg

PERSONALITY — Right now Kin is very timid. He's proud, but timid, which is a very conflicting thing to have in one's personality. Kin doesn't like getting into fights, but he doesn't like backing down from them either. He's shy, especially at first, but is working to overcome it. Once he gets to know someone Kin is extremely friendly and very playful. Its like he's a whole different Pokemon once he is comfortable with an individual. He's fiercely protective of Honoka, given their past, and will try to bite anyone who so much as looks at her wrong. He doesn't seem to care nearly as much about himself in regards to this, and will often take punishment doled out by strangers either from fear of making it worse or being too afraid of hurting them.
