OOC Name: Cat Character Becoming Gym Leader: Emilia ChevalierGym Applying To: Nair City Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? I think it would be a fun experience and give me a chance to more closely interact with other members and influence their characters’ development. How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? My goal is for Emilia to be a pompous young woman. She became a gym leader at a young age due to her skill and is extremely arrogant. I want to see her get beaten by a few trainers so that she learns a little humility. What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? My idea for the gym is to employ the use of duel typings to make the gym more challenging and exciting for challengers. I plan to make battles fairer and stay true to my character’s personality by only using attack moves. Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. The gym is located far underground. The only way to reach the battlefield is to traverse a series of tunnels that form a maze. At every dead end is a preliminary trainer to battle. Trainers are given a single torch as a source of light. They must reach the battlefield before the torch extinguishes or they will be escorted out. Each trainer is allowed to use up to three Pokemon to battle. The gym leader will match the number of Pokemon used. The challenger is allowed to use items in battle. The battle is over when all of the Pokemon of one trainer have fainted. If the challenger wins, they will receive 20 PD as well as the TM Flame Charge, Flamethrower, or Overheat depending on how many badges the trainer already has. Post your gym Pokemon teams. This can be included in your gym information. Your team and levels will differ depending on the number of badges a challenger has. You need to have a team for each number of badges. You may use the same Pokemon in multiple teams and simply change their levels and moves if you wish. TMs, Move Tutor and Egg Moves are allowed to be used for Pokemon movesets. Starting at five badges and up, Gym Pokemon are allowed to have eight moves instead of the typical six. Follow the level guidelines detailed below when determining the level of your Pokemon.Level 0Litwick (level 10) – Ember, Astonish, Smog, Fire Spin, Confuse Ray Numel (level 13) – Tackle, Ember, Magnitude Salandit (level 15) – Scratch, Poison Gas, Ember, Dragon Rage, Snatch Level 1Litwick (level 15) – Ember, Smog, Fire Spin, Night Shade Numel (level 17) – Tackle, Ember, Magnitude, Flame Burst Salandit (level 20) – Scratch, Poison Gas, Ember, Dragon Rage, Snatch, Smog Level 2Litwick (level 20) – Ember, Smog, Fire Spin, Nightshade, Flame Burst Numel (level 23) – Tackle, Ember, Magnitude, Flame Burst, Lava Plume Salandit (level 25) – Scratch, Ember, Dragon Rage, Smog, Doubleslap, Flame Burst Level 3Litwick (level 30) – Ember, Smog, Fire Spin, Nightshade, Flame Burst, Hex Camerupt (level 33) – Rock Slide, Take Down, Lava Plume, Earth Power, Magnitude Salazzle (level 35) – Flame Burst, Doubleslap, Dragon Rage, Ember Level 4Litwick (level 35) – Ember, Smog, Fire Spin, Nightshade, Flame Burst, Hex Camerupt (level 37) – Rock Slide, Take Down, Lava Plume, Earth Power, Magnitude Salazzle (level 40) – Venoshock, Flame Burst, Doubleslap, Dragon Rage, Ember Level 5Lampent (level 45) – Inferno, Hex, Flame Burst, Nightshade, Smog, Fire Spin Camerupt (level 47) – Rock Slide, Take Down, Lava Plume, Earth Power, Earthquake Salazzle ( level 50) – Flamethrower, Venoshock, Flame Burst, Doublslap, Dragon Rage, Ember Level 6 Lampent (level 55) – Shadow Ball, Inferno, Hex, Flame Burst, Nightshade, Smog Camerupt (level 57) – Eruption, Rock Slide, Take Down, Lava Plume, Earth Power, Earthquake Salazzle (level 60) – Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Venoshock, Flame Burst, Doubleslap, Dragon Rage

OOC Name: Martian Character Becoming Gym Leader: Brooke Stroud Gym Applying To: Baltis City
Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? Thread opportunities, mostly. I love writing battle scenes, and this is a great way to practice up on that while also helping out the community.
How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? Brooke will have been thrust into the role of Gym Leader at a younger age than normal out of necessity. At first, she’ll be somewhat reluctant to participate, but as she grows and meets new people and has new experiences, she’ll learn to appreciate her position more and take it seriously.
What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? I plan to use a variety of dual types at higher levels to keep challengers on their toes and forcing them to have more than one singular strategy. Employing status effects and other stalling tactics will also maybe force people to think outside the box or have more solid strategy when coming in as well.
Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. The Baltis City Gym also functions as a large indoor waterpark for people to relax and swim. Those who wish to challenge the Gym are escorted to the back, where a huge network of waterslides can be found. Brooke’s arena can be found by going through the correct slides. Challengers will have to be attentive and watch or listen for certain cues to let them know they’re on the right track. Upon finding Brooke, she will battle the challenger in a format according to their number of Badges. Levels 0-2 will be a 3v3 battle, Levels 3-5 will be 4v4, Levels 6-8 will be 5v5, and Level 9 will be a grueling 6-on-6 battle. If the challenger cannot match the number of Pokemon being used at level 0, an exception will be made. The challenger may use items during the battle. Upon victory, challengers will receive 20 PD, and a Water-type TM of choice. The choice is limited to earlier levels, but high enough levels can obtain Rain Dance, Scald, Surf, or Waterfall.
Follow the level guidelines detailed below when determining the level of your Pokemon.

OOC Name: Magma Character Becoming Gym Leader: Alexander Paramonos Gym Applying To: Cyngi City (Steel)
Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? Terribad reason, I'm sure. Anyway, I wanna be a part of the site's overall plot and and move it forward by bringing some challenge to the established members and any new ones as well.
How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? Becoming a gym leader would only be the start of Alex's journey to power. I want his ambition to clash with the ambition of league challengers and see whose is better. (Hint: it's Alex's. fite me.)
What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? I . . . won't blow up my challengers? The gym will most likely focus on one-on-one style combat, with both parties using a grand total of five. But there's a catch other than the simple, last one standing. Alex's gym will be a rotation style play. Meaning after one battle, both trainers must swap out their current pokemon. At early levels, the match will be decided in a best of 3; best of 5 at later levels.
Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. Cyngi City, tourist capital of the world. The denizens, taking advantage of this fact, modeled the official gym as a soccer stadium. While the gym leader and challenger stand where the goal posts would be, they use a microphone system to help the pokemon hear their commands in the huge open space of battle. It's free for anyone to enter and enjoy (might not have been the case in the past). The gym's rotation style of battle makes each challenge seem unique. If the challenger has 0-5 badges, rotation rules will be 3v3, best of 3. At 6 and up, rotation rules will be 5v5, best of 5. Only the challenger may use items, and if they are victorious, they are awarded 20 PD and TM91, Flash Cannon.
Follow the level guidelines detailed below when determining the level of your Pokemon. Totally didn't rip off Emilia.

Alexander Paramonos - The only thing you will need to change is requiring a 5v5 for every single match. Gym Leaders are supposed to be challenging, but they should be able to be overcome. You can start asking for 5v5s starting at 6 badges and onward. However, before that, it'd be better to keep it to something much shorter like 3v3s. Even if you do 3v3s, you can still have 5 Pokemon at your disposal to choose from. Kono - Your reservation has been recorded; however, it has now expired. If you still want to work on the gym, you can. I simply can't promise a reservation for at some time. Leon Solis - Your reservation has been noted. It will expire on the 30th. Dracul - Your reservation has been noted. It will expire on the 30th.

OOC Name: Julian Character Becoming Gym Leader: Leon Solis Gym Applying To: Saiph City Ghost Gym Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? For the main part, becoming a gym leader will allow my character to develop. I find it that his character, as a person, will need to change if he is to become a leader of something big. Another reason is that I want to inspire other trainers to try harder if they fail and to go far if they succeed. Morale support gym leader friend, basically. Development ideas: As a person, Leon may not seem like all that of a good person, but if there is anything that changes his heart in an instant, it’s battling. Leon loves to see new challengers for him and his pokemon and joining a Gym, fighting challengers, all of these things sound like a new opportunity to learn and to teach. If a challenger were to lose, he would only encourage them to come back and try again, for he wishes to see everyone succeed. How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? Changing to realizing how he acts as a gym leader and as a person shall connect mid-way through his story. Leon should certainly realize that if he is going to be a leader of a gym, he should be a leader among the people, strong and kind rather than quiet and brooding. What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? Rather than following the typical 3 v 3 trade out system, Leon’s gym will be 1 pokemon versus another. If one were to be defeated, that is a point for the other team. After that battle is finished, another set of pokemon shall battle, providing a new system and a requirement of strategy, as the new pokemon will not be weakened from a previous fight. Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. Upon entrance, you will be welcomed into a dimly lit room that follows a staircase/elevator down into a dome like arena underground. There, the trainer will exit the elevator to find a stadium with floating stones, green lights to represent eyes and very powerful lighting effects. After all, Leon is a little extra. Further descriptions: The elevator is also dimly lit and as one descends into the basement of the gym, the lights will cast themselves out as if by shadows. The Arena itself holds floating platforms, all separate. Trainer areas, arena, and stands (which circle the arena). There may seem like there is no floor, but if one were to jump off, it’d be about a 10 foot drop. The arena is pitch black upon entrance with no light what-so-ever. When the Trainer enters the room, a spotlight will strike them, leaving them in blinding light as they walk to their standing place, which will detach (Railing will be provided in case of someone almost wobbles off) and take them to the arena where fog and dim, eye shaped lights fill the area as the gym leader makes his entrance. Rules will be simple. The gym will follow a rule system in which it requires you to defeat a certain amount of pokemon to earn a badge as usual. Once a pokemon on either side is defeated, both sides MUST change pokemon. Switching Pokemon is CHEATING and is illegal You are required to at least meet the amount of pokemon the Gym leader has. You are allowed 3 items over the course of the entire Mega-Evolution and Z-Moves are legal under site terms. CONGRATS! You’ve won! Here are your prizes!50 PD and TM30 Shadow Ball, as well as the spirit badge! Oh no! You’ve lost! Don’t worry, nothing bad will happen! You just have to wait another week before you can challenge me again. OOC Name: KonoNoDIODa Character Becoming Gym Leader: Kono Gym Applying To: Hamal Town Gym
Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? I started roleplaying on another site and I’ve always wanted to give back to the community and try to, and this site I can do that easily. I also love to write and this will help improve and build my writing skills and give back to the community of players.
How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? He wants to be a role model for children and people alike, so he thinks that he’d be able to inspire people to be good if he was a gym leader. He’s lived in the town for a long while and would be well known, and he also is an expert (so he thinks) in fighting types, so it’d work well.
What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? Rather than people being able to spam a certain moveset or just heading in with one strategy and planning on sweeping, he wishes to show the power and durability of fighting types, and force people to come up with new strategies. He’d use abilities and quick thinking to confuse and mess with challengers to try and bring the best out in them.
Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. The setting is in the Gym’s training area, behind a secret entrance in the local Hot Springs that people would have to find using clues through asking in the town, just to make it so people can’t barge in and have to pay attention to detail. Once finding it, they are escorted into the training area and having to fight 3 trainers to show their readiness, after which, the battle will commence with the gym leader, and depending on the level which you are at, you would be sorted into the 2 different brackets, Lower and Upper Tier.
Lower Tier: To provide a challenge to lower tier combatants and still keep it fair, the lower tiers would Level 0-Level 4 would be in the lower tier. In the lower tiers, only 2 healing items would be allowed and the pokemon that the challenger plans to use would have to be pulled out and 1 move from each pokemon would be banned from use of the Gym Leader’s choice, limiting the trainer so they come up with a strategy on the fly and make it harder.
Lower Tier Battles: Level 0: 2v2 Level 1: 2v2 Double Battle Level 2: 3v3 Level 3: 3v3 Double Battle Level 4: 4v4
Upper Tier: In the upper tiers, Level 5-Level 9 are there and the challenged is upped, becoming progressively harder. In this, sheer strength and wits will be need as the challengers can to 3 health items but must use one less pokemon than the gym leader, already having a disadvantage and valuing teamwork and how good the challenger can overcome obstacles that seem impossible to beat. And whenever the “SAME Rule” applies, the challenger can use the same amount of pokemon as the Gym leader, however, the challenger can only use 1 health and 2 moves are banned from use by the gym leader.
Upper Tier Battles (it goes Challenger’s pokemon vs Gym’s Pokemon): Level 5: 4v4 (SAME Rule) Level 6: 5v5 (SAME Rule) Level 7: 4v5 Double Battle Level 8: 4v5 Level 9: 5v6 Double Battle
Prizes: For lower tier competitors, they receive 15-20 PD for winning and a random TM for winning out of a small pool of TM’s. Oh, and I guess the badge. Maybe able to win mystery egg, but very rare. And for the higher tiers, they receive 20 PD, a TM from a small pool adding TM’s like Close Combat and Focus Blast, and if they are in the top 3 Levels for winning, an egg with a mystery pokemon inside.
Follow the level guidelines detailed below when determining the level of your Pokemon.

OOC Name: Tyler Character Becoming Gym Leader: DraculGym Applying To: Shula Town Why do you want the position of Gym Leader? First and foremost, I think it will be fun! I'm really excited for my character concept for this gym leader and I think it is a departure from our current gym leaders. Secondly, I want to play a supporting role and bring something to the well being of the site with being a gym leader. Every story needs a supporting cast! How will being a Gym Leader contribute to your character’s story and development? My character is an old man in his twilight years. He has lived through a lot. I think this will allow him to grow into a mentor role and pass the torch on to the next generation. In short, I want to use this gym experience as an opportunity to write a sage-like character who grows into the role while coming to terms with the fact that his time in the world is about to pass. What do you plan to do to ensure that your Gym is fair, challenging and interesting? Due to the varied nature of Dragon-types, I plan on forcing opponents to confront multiple Pokemon with unique fighting styles that embrace status effects, weather, and the raw elemental forces. I plan to embrace Dracul's more experienced nature and make each battle a mini-lesson by utilizing what I mentioned: his goal is to teach, not to crush. If he can make his opponents think, he feels he has done his job. Post your gym’s information. Include a description of the gym, its rules and prizes for winning and losing. You may use templates and tables if you wish. True to the simple natured aesthetic of Shula Town, challengers will find that, inside and outside, the gym looks like a classical martial arts temple, evoking imagery of kung-fu movies. Well maintained wooden floors with paper walls, floor mats, a rock garden. . . and most importantly, an open air courtyard arena for Pokemon battles! To qualify for battle, each trainer must undertake a grueling task: sitting down and talking with Grandpa Dracul in a painful interview session where Dracul attempts to figure out what kind of person his challenger is, like a grandfather grilling their grandchildren about their lives! After Dracul is satisfied with their answers, the battle begins! The battle is a simple 3v3: each trainer may choose whatever Pokemon they want from those available to them, but once the choice is made, there is no changing their mind, even if the Pokemon switches out! The prize for Victory is 20 PD and a TM for Dragon Tail! If the opponent suffers a defeat, they must wait one month (1) before challenging the gym again! And listen to Grandpa Dracul chew their ear off!Post your gym Pokemon teams. Alexander Paramonos - If you want to put item limits later, you can. Other than that, you are approved! You may go ahead and put your gym information up in the Cyngi City board thread whenever you are accepted. Leon Solis - The Grade S Reward is a little bit too much. I would suggest changing the 10 PD reward to 20 PD. You can come up with something else for the Grade S reward if you like. Also, if a Pokemon is capable of mega evolving, dictate which Pokemon that is by stating that they have the appropriate Mega Stone. Mega Evolution is allowed to be used starting at 4 badges and higher. Z-Moves are the same way. Kono - The challenges are too difficult. Banning moves can actually result in people spamming moves even more, and it can be too unfair of an advantage for you. Now, what you can do is have it to where the challenger gets fewer Pokemon, but they can use healing items. I would also try to normalize the Pokemon used per challenge so that it doesn't vary so much between double battles and single battles. Also, I would get rid of the Same Rule too and no mystery eggs for gym rewards. Held items are not allowed for Gym Pokemon besides Megastones. Also, stick to canon Mega Evolutions for now, meaning no Hawlunite. What you can do in the future is do a Mega Stone quest in order to get a Hawlunite, which you can then use for your gym if you'd like. Dracul - Your gym is approved! You can go ahead and put your gym information up in the Shaula Town Gym board whenever you are accepted!
