When you think of someone with a bubbly personality, you’ll likely think of Brooke Stroud. She’s a total social butterfly, and has a wide group of friends and allies all over Stellara.


At the same time, Brooke is very much like the type she specializes in. Her personality seems to change as often as the tides. She tends to be placid and pleasant unless provoked. Once provoked, her anger is powerful and unstoppable, like a tsunami.


On the surface, it seems like Brooke hates her position as Gym Leader. She’s around the Gym as little as possible, and when she is she only takes a few challenges at a time. However, internally she has started to take a liking to the job, as it makes her feel closer to her mother in a sense. Brooke fills a role that is meant for someone much older than herself, and sometimes her immaturity gets the best of her in her work. She is prone to random outbursts of annoyance if she’s defeated by someone that rubs her the wrong way, and will sometimes make up extra things for them to do rather than giving them a Badge. However, with time, she’ll settle into the role better and mellow out.


Brooke is a teenage girl, and sometimes that means that she can be a bit boy-crazy. This can occasionally distract her from her work, though her father usually steps in and sets her straight. Brooke’s relationship with her father is very strong, as the two became so much closer after her mother died. She’s definitely a case of “daddy’s little girl”, and will sometimes hide behind her father and have him solve problems that she can’t.







Brooke Stroud was born and raised in Stellara. She is the daughter of the late Malia Stroud, the former Baltis City Gym Leader. Brooke's mother was the center of her universe and the light of her life. She even gave Brooke her first Pokemon, Azure, when she was five years old to instill a love of Pokemon into her.


Malia Stroud was presumed dead when she set off across the sea to quell a powerful Pokemon, but never returned. Brooke was only 10 years old when her mother disappeared, devastating both her and her father, Liam. In their grieving, Brooke and her father became closer than ever. The two of them resolved to carry on her mother's legacy by making a team of Water Pokemon together.


After a year without contact from Malia, the Stellara Pokemon League began to put pressure on Baltis City to appoint a new Gym Leader, since Malia never returned to take her post. Over the next five years, many temporary Gym Leaders came and went, but none were able to fill the role adequately or didn’t want to fill Malia Stroud’s shoes. Brooke's father pushed her to train hard so she could one day take the mantle of Gym Leader and save their town from ruin. She continued to use the team they raised together and won a few local tournaments with it, proving her worth as a Trainer.


After running out of options, and facing increasing pressure from the League to withdraw their benefits as a Gym town, the people of Baltis City turned to Liam Stroud, whose team had gained local acclaim. Not feeling worthy of the role his wife left behind, Liam left the task to his daughter. Brooke stepped up to the role, albeit somewhat apprehensively, and used the team that she trained up with her father to run the Gym.


Now, Brooke is a Water-type master after carrying the torch of her mother by the insistence of her father. She tends to the Gym and stays hopeful that her mother will return one day and relieve her of her duties.

PERSONALITY — Azure is Brooke’s pet Azurill, who she’s had since she turned five years old. Since Brooke doesn’t train her, Azure has never really grown past her baby-like characteristics. She cries a lot and hates to battle. However, she is also a very kind and playful Pokemon. She tends to be more sociable, helpful, and friendly towards other Pokemon as long as she knows that they aren’t out to fight.


Azure has nothing but love for her Trainer, who has raised and cared for her since she hatched from an Egg. She would do anything for Brooke, even fight if she really had to.
