"I can't believe I actually accepted to this job again." Mumbled the young man under his breath as he slowly dragged his palm over his face, tugging at his skin hard. After that encounter with the Kommo-O so many weeks ago, Doug had not been particularly thrilled when he had seen Henry's number ringing on his PokeNav's screen. As he had feared, the young Archaeologist wanted to go deep into the temple once again, having finally finished studying and analyzing the data he had managed to acquire from their previous expedition. Doug found it hard to say no to the archaeologist when he sounded so exited, not to mention he was one of the few adults that seemed to have as much confidence in Doug's skill as Doug himself did. So he had accepted. Just one condition, however. "And this, is the place where we nearly got killed by a Kommo-O." Doug informed his best friend in a less than happy tone while Henry nearly jumped in excitement as the entrance to the ruins finally came into view, the decrepit, ancient ruins looking just as old and likely to fall on them as they had last time they had been there. "Thanks for agreeing to come, by the by. I really wasn't looking forward to trying this again." He said, both hands behind his head as he followed besides Henry, trusting his friend to follow the expert as well. A single pokemon was out of its pokeball in order to serve as further protection. This single pokemon was Joltik, who rested silent and unmoving on top of Doug's head, nestled in the boy's hair. MURASAKI DOKURO [/ul][/div]

"Then why did you take on this request again if you seem to dislike it so much?" Said Dokuro to his friend, that seemed not very thrilled by the idea of coming to this place again. He himself was interested in what kind of ancient relics would they find in these ruins. Maybe they will meet other rare pokemon like that Kommo-o his friend wouldn't stop mentioning. "Oh, that's right. Thanks for having us, Mr. Henry." Directed Dokuro to their client, without so much as extending his hand or even turning in his direction. His friend made sure to show him the place he was attacked last time. "And why would you want to come back here? The odds of that Kommo-o living in the nearby area are extremely high. I expect you have actually been doing your training if you really thought coming back here is a good idea. Also wouldn't want to leave my rival eating the dust. Although I see you got a new bug." 'It looks very small. But I bet it might hold some power inside. Better to keep my watch on it in case we end up fighting any moment after the mission is done.' "Alright, guess I better get us ready. Mareanie, Oddish, Pineco, Smoochum, come out." Dokuro let out most of his pokemon. Mareanie instantly latching into the boy's head as usual, and proceeded to greet Doug as a friend. Pineco followed close to him, looking around as he had not seen the persons next to him before. He tried hiding behind Dokuro as to not let them see him much, but trying to keep up. Oddish was just observing both of the guys next to them, as if she was studying them, judging. 'Hey, hey, Purpley, it seems Oddish is being very wary of your friends over there. She's saying she won't take them out of her sight, hehehe' Told Smoochum to Dokuro through her telepathy. 'Do you really have to do this? I would very much prefer if you were a bit more quite during this trip.' "Alright guys, I want you to keep an eye to our surroundings. There might be a strong pokemon around, and I trust Oddish's ability to observe a lot, so the moment she notices something, or any of you do, be ready to Protect us all, got it?" Dokuro directed to all his pokemon, preparing a solid defense in case the Kommo-o showed up, or anything similar. 'I promise I shall do my best, Purpley. If you want I can just check the future real quick, we can get the best route' Smoochum winked at Dokuro after telling him this, constantly walking in front of them all. "No thanks. Why don't you just go bother Doug instead?" 'Hmph. Maybe I should just go with him instead!' Smoochum stuck her tongue out at dokuro and then walked closer to Douglas. 'Hey, say, do you want me to read your future? Maybe we can be better friends, unlike that cold pants over there, what do you say? Mission, Start. "Because you know I can't say no!" He harped at his friend in annoyance. It wasn't exactly a secret that Douglas very rarely could say no when asked for help. Hell, most of the time he offered it before it was even asked, to the chagrin of some folk. Doug huffed as Dokuro actually thanked Henry for the opportunity to get mauled by a Kommo-O, crossing his arms behind his head in annoyance as Henry replied, quite enthusiastically. "Oh, no need to thank me! The more, the merrier in fact! With two trainers, we can go even deeper into the ruins than we did last time!" said the Archaeologist with glee, prompting the maroon haired boy to palm his forehead solidly. "Oh brother." He groaned out, already regretting inviting his friend along. "Great. Maybe we can find Two Kommo-Os this time." "A family of Kommo-Os, perhaps? That would be an impressive discovery, I would say!" Replied Henry, seemingly oblivious to Doug's less than happy tone. Douglas sighed in response, glancing back at his friend and the load of pokemon he had decided to bring outside of their pokeball. Should he try and do that as well? Then again, if they brought out a lot of pokemon, they would be calling more attention to themselves. Joltik should be enough to ward most wild pokemon away; he certainly had been effective at dealing with the Kommo-O back then, surprisingly enough. Before he could really decide, a voice suddenly broke into his thoughts, making him look around in confusion until his gaze finally settled on the Smoochum. "Wha? The future?" He snorted. "I already know my future. I'm gonna be champ." He said with a grin, the words tumbling out of his mouth with such confidence it was staggering. "What's up, Purple? You are suposed to be getting along with your pokemon, you know." He said as he threw a glance at his friend. Before a reply was given to him however, Henry suddenly clapped his hands. "All right my friends, it's time for us to advance forward! I've already studied everything that can be found at this point, so it's in our best interest to make our way to where we last left of, Douglas! Follow along, Dokuro!" With that, the Archaeologist made his way into the ruins undeterred, making the maroon haired boy cry out behind him. "Wha- Dude, don't run ahead! Henry!" He protested as he ran to catch up to the scientist, huffing. Just how hard was the man trying to make their job, sheesh! MURASAKI DOKURO

"Wait, what?" Dokuro was caught off guard as their employer suddenly started running ahead of them top speed. "Hey! What's the big idea?!" He sighed, and then started chasing behind. "I thought we were exploring not racing! What if we call out the attention of any dangerous pokemon?!"
But there was no point arguing, the archaeologist just kept running until they finally got inside the ruins. He could not complain anymore. The moment he stepped inside it was like a switch flipped inside him. He brought out his trusty sketchbook, and started drawing every symbol he saw on the walls. Dokuro was trying to make sense of them, but it proved to be beyond his current knowledge. Yet he kept tracing them. He kept trying to make theories. On the other hand, Oddish felt nice with the moisture and shade inside the ruins, while Mareanie was enjoying herself too with Dokuro being so focused on the research. Pineco was keeping an eye out from time to time, all the time trying to not be seen much by Douglas and Henry. Smoochum instead, was trying to pester Dokuro again, curious about all the drawings he was making.
'Hey hey! What is that? Can I see? Please let me see Purpley!' But Dokuro didn't really bother. He was too into his research already. 'Not now, this is important. Go help the others make sure we are safe please'
Smoochum simply looked away with and started pestering the other guys again.

Mission, Start. "Keep your damn focus, damn it!" Bemoaned Doug as his friend pulled out his damn sketchbook, palming his face. Meanwhile, Henry was still dangerously far from them, advancing at a quick pace through the ruins. God, why did he bother accepting to this job? There weren't nearly enough zeroes in the paycheck to account for the stress. He wished he could try and sit down to meditate, but it really wasn't the time or the place sadly. The deeper they traveled into the ruins, the darker it appeared to get. Deeper was a very literal term in this case; Doug could tell they were travelling further and further down as they followed Henry's rushed lead. He hadn't really been paying attention the first time he came with Henry, bored out of his skull by the archaeologist's constant history blabber, but he could recognize enough to realize they were making their way through the same path they last took. The path was rather dark, and some would have even called it claustrophobic. Doug didn't really give it too much mind, instead keeping his eyes peeled and his flashlight constantly scanning the area. Henry may have been acting as if they had been having a walk through an amusement park the last time they were inside the ruins, but Doug knew better, and he wouldn't be caught unprepared again. They found no Kommo-O, or opposition really, and ultimately, the dark, narrow hallway eventually led to an exit. It opened up to a massive chamber. Plant life and overgrowth had torn entire sections of walls, ceilings and floor tiles off, and the multiple cracks and holes in the ceiling served as the barest of light sources, projecting small, weak rays of sunlight into the chamber. They had come in from what appeared to be a side path, and on their far left, what appeared to be the massive statue of an unrecognizable Pokemon could be seen, the damage left by ravage of time clear as day. The walls were lined with the same patterns that could be found at the start of the ruins, accompanied with heavily stylized carvings of human and Pokemon like figures; what did it all mean...? There was no pattern to them, every single picture carefully sculpted as if telling a singular story. There were strange patterns along the floor that converged towards the end of the room, spiraling inwards until they reached a strange gem laying at the center. Henry proceeded to squeal in excitement the moment he noticed all of this, clapping his hands together as he all but threw himself to the floor on his knees, pulling out a magnifying glass from his tool kit to look at the patterns on the floor more closely. "Wow." Was all Doug could say as he stepped further into the room, looking around curiously and forgetting himself for a moment. MURASAKI DOKURO

"I'm focusing alright. Our employer wanted to study these ruins, and this is also studying them. It never hurts to further expand one's research when you get the chance!" Dokuro continued scribbling any ancient alphabet he found on the walls, any kind of special drawings he found, all while further going in the cave. All this continued that way until they finally reached a big chamber. First thing he looks around, and the mysterious pokemon statue instantly.
"Woah! What pokemon this statue used to be? Was it a legendary pokemon venerated by whomever made. Maybe the texts would tell us of what the statue was if we were able to decipher them Mr. Henry!"
Most of his pokemon were also surprised by the amazing place they arrived at. Even Smoochum found herself speechless for a short while, to say the least. "Thanks for inviting me to this trip Doug, this is way beyond of what I expected to find here"

Mission, Start. "Our employer wanted to study the ruins himself. And employed us to protect him." Reminded the boy to his friend with irritation. What the heck was he even doing; he didn't even know what any of these meant, the only one who did was Henry! And the man was currently kneeling on the ground like he was praising the gods high above. "That's right my boy! We may have just hit the motherload this time!" He said, before reaching into his supplies and pulling a small, disposable camera and holding it out to Dokuro. "Help me take photos! I doubt we'll be able to study them all before the sun sets!" Doug soundly palmed his face. Of course that happened. 'My boy'? Henry wasn't even that old! "Yeah yeah." Grunted the boy as his remarks went ignored, his friend thanking him for the opportunity to... nerd out over this old crap and do his nerd thing. Giving up, Doug turned away from the two nerds and began moving his flashlight all over the place, before beginning to walk around the chamber, focus shifting from one interesting piece to the next. Finally, he came to stand before the giant statue, tilting a brow at it. Honestly, from this close? It didn't look like any pokemon Doug had even heard of. Granted, he wasn't particularly well informed on most pokemon that didn't have bug written on their profiles one way or the other. Still, the Pokedex could generally recognize the basic silhouette of any pokemon. So... Holding out his Pokedex, the boy took a few steps back to allow the silhouette to fit into the entire Pokedex, humming to himself. ' UNIDENTIFIED POKEMON. NO DATA FOUND' "What, seriously?" muttered the boy lowly to himself, tilting a thin brow at his gizmo before turning his gaze up towards the statue. It looked to be a massive, bipedal figure sitting down with its legs crossed, one of its arms stretched in front forward, the other curled into a fist and held at its waist. The stretched arm had broken halfway through the forearm, and the remains could be found in pieces directly below. It was hard to tell what it had been doing before, but appeared to have been an open palm. The construction of the statue was what some would say rough; it had an apparent 'human' shape, but was so heavily stylized it was hard to tell if it truly a human, specially with all the strange pieces that seemed to extrude from its body. Where they supposed to be part of its body? Perhaps it was a just a human in armor? No way to tell, the sculptors had definitely been no Greeks- Uh, Kalosians. 'Cool belt I guess.' He thought to himself with an eyeroll, eyeing the strange belt wound around the statue's waist before turning back to the other two. "How's the photo taking going?" MURASAKI DOKURO _

"Hey, I'm fairly certain he wouldn't mind if we shared a bit of enthusiasm with studying the ruins with him, and I'm surely not gonna let this opportunity to study them slip past me. This is really a great mission you chose this time, Doug."
Dokuro started helping Henry take photos, taking extras for his own research too. "I hope you don't mind Mister Henry."
"Hmm, this pokemon seems to be really unique, never seen any similar to this before." Said Dokuro while taking the photos.
"Everything is going great here, thanks for asking." Dokuro eyed to his friend, who was commenting on the statue's strange belt-like device. Upon closer inspection, he actually arrived at the same conclusion as his friend, the part was actually supposed to be a belt. Of course, Dokuro started taking photos of that belt too. "Hmm, Machokes usually have a belt too, but this statue has nothing alike to one except the humanoid physique and that." He started running theories in his head, thinking what could this all mean. "Maybe... Mister Henry, what if this is not a statue of a pokemon, but of a human?"

Mission, Start. The pink haired boy tilted a brow at his friend's conclusion, shifting his gaze back to the statue while Henry struggled to peel his gaze away from his current object of study to eye another. The maroon haired boy had thought that it could be a human in armor a few seconds ago, but the strange nature of the sculpture made it hard to be fully certain. As Henry came over and stood by the two boys, he narrowed his eyes at the massive sculpture, his gaze shifting between every little detail critically. "I cannot be certain from a simple glance." He admitted finally, turning towards the children. "It could be a human wearing armor; it could be an unknown, ancient pokemon. Could even be a Morph of unidentified species. Heck, it could even be just an interpretation of one of their gods." He said, rubbing at his chin thoughtfully. He then turned towards Dokuro, nodding. "We must photograph this extensively." He informed the child, before his camera flashed as he began taking photo after photo, moving around the base of the statue as he did. Doug turned away from the two science nuts with a sigh, rolling his eyes and walking back to the center of the chamber. The entire thing had been suspiciously peaceful so far; he was actually starting to come down from the edge he had been walking on for the past hour. The boy turned his gaze down towards the gem that had been at the center of the chamber, cocking his head o the side slightly at the strangely colored orb. It seemed vaguely familiar to him, but seemed strangely oversized to him. It was sort of putting him off. "Hey Henry." Called out the boy, no pulling his gaze away from the orb as he spoke. "What's this orb supposed to be?" Asked the kid. Henry didn't stop taking pictures from the large sculpture, though he did answer the boy's question. "That my boy, is a mystery to both of us!" Admitted the man, an edge of excitement taking over his tone as he glanced over his shoulder. "I have a few hypothesis on the matter, but I'll need to take it along with me if I'm to be sure!" "Alright Mister Henry! I'll make sure to not miss any angle!" Dokuro incessantly continued taking more photos of the statue. "Oddish! Help me reach these harder to see places."
While Oddish was getting pictures from angles Dokuro could not get thanks to her vines, he could not help but try and snatch some drawings for his own too. 'Hmm, maybe this whole thing has a special function for whatever the statue is' He thought, while drawing the belt on the statue.
"Oh, what hypothesis do you have on it Mister Henry? I would love to hear them. Personally I think it might be related to whomever the statue was built for. Or maybe it could have been part of an ancient ritual for the people who built this temple. Do you think it is related to a legendary pokemon too?"
Something was obvious, Dokuro hasn't been this excited in a long time.

Mission, Start. "Well, I must admit that calling them 'hypothesis' at this stage is an exaggeration. They are more along the line of educated guesses." Admitted the man as he paused in his constant photographing to turn to the children. "I can't be certain, due to the poor lighting and my lack of insight on its contents, but I believe, my boy's, that it may be some sort of evolutionary stone." He said, scratching at his chin. "And if it the kind I think it is, it would make an amazing object of study." Usually, only the league and league sponsored scientists had consistent access to rarities such as the stones he thought of. Doug didn't get much out of that. Basically, it was some kind of rare evolution stone; that wasn't terribly useful to him; none of his pokemon evolved through such means. With that in mind, he simply shrugged, rolling his eyes and losing interest on it quickly. "So like, what, should I take it now then?" He asked, crouching in front of it as he spoke. "Not yet, I would say! It could very well be booby-" The boy snorted, prompting the man to roll his eyes. "- Trapped. We wouldn't want to bring a beautiful, ancient relic such as these ruins down on our heads now, would we?" The boy responded with a cock of his brow. "I don't wanna die, no." He responded flatly, making his lack of interest in the archaeological value of the ruins clear. That was enough for Henry, who smiled. "Good! So no touching until we are done here!" He said, before moving to taking photos of the walls, the hieroglyphs along them clearly telling some sort of story that flew high over Doug's head. "Make sure the pictures you take the of hieroglyphs are clear and panoramic, my boy!" He said to Dokuro, "we'll need to be able of studying them once we get back to the lab!" Doug simply stood up once more, before turning towards one of the many walls, narrowing his eyes as he tried to make heads or tails of the hieroglyphs etched on them. MURASAKI DOKURO

Dokuro listened and nodded to Henry. 'Evolutionary stone? That's right, some pokemon evolve when exposed to certain stones.'
"So mature Doug." Remarked Dokuro to his friend, who reacted at the word booby. "But you're right. Let's make sure this stone doesn't trigger a trap. Oddish, check out if you can find something on it. If you spot anything tell us right away.
"Right on Mister Henry! Been taking photos in every possible angle. Mareanie! Come help me while Oddish makes sure the stone is not booby trapped!" Mareanie left her post guarding to assist Dokuro. With her small size she was able to get into tinier spots to take different pictures. "Oh that's right. What kind of evolutionary stone do you think that is Mister Henry? Back in Johto there was this Kimono Girls house that specialized in Eevees. But I don't remember them using any stone similar to this one back there."

Mission, Start. The Hieroglyphs did their best to try and express what they meant through sequences of sculpted history. It was hard to truly guess at the context of it, but it appeared that the orb had been considered a symbol of power to the civilization that had previously inhabited the ruins. Recounts of bloody conflicts with other ancient tribes over the gem seemed to be the main focus. The context behind this, they why, was lost. It did appear however, that at some point, gems similar, but smaller, had become accessories for ancient warriors, utilized to grant themselves (or was it their pokemon...? It was hard to tell.) great power. Oddish wouldn't find much in her search for traps. What she did find, however, was that the orb was firmly fixed to the floor. They would need to perform throughout excavation on the site in order to be able to extract it... That or use more physically apt Pokemon to do the job. For his part, Henry turned to face Dokuro, grinning at the boy. His glasses glinted, an impressive feat considering the poor lighting inside the chamber. "An unprocessed, unrefined, Mega Evolution Ore." He said, leaving his words hanging in the air as if to awe the two youths with the magnificence of their find. "... The fuck is Mega evolution? Sounds like a Digimon reference." MURASAKI DOKURO

"Mega evolution? What is that? You mean there is more to a pokemon evolution than the ones we currently know? And how is that related to the stone in here?" Dokuro started checking the notes he has been taking "Maybe all these scriptures talk about said process of mega evolution?"
Oddish luckily did not find any traps to be triggered by the stone. She tried to then take it, since it seemed like Dokuro and the other guys were interested in it, and since it was safe to grab, there should not be any problem. But it was tightly affixed. Oddish just didn't had enough strength to retrieve it, so she went and notified Dokuro that it was safe at the very least.
"Thanks a lot, Oddish. Now, Mister Henry, I guess this is your honor to do" Dokuro, who didn't knew yet how firmly fixed the stone was, let Henry try and grab it, but to no avail, it was no use. "Hmm.. Guess we should look for another way to retrieve that mega evolution ore, Mister Henry"

Mission, Start. "Ah, but these are but mere assumptions, children." Was all that Henry said in response to the children's questions. "I would rather not build up your excitement for what may very well be nothing but a simple jewel." Said the man as he turned away from the hieroglyphs. "I believe we are done here, my young friends." Said the man. "Our time is running out, and I've acquired enough study material to last." He surmised, before turning towards the orb. "It is well affixed to the wall, isn't it?" He said, having expected as much. "Worry not, children, for I've come prepared to do such extractions already!" He said, reaching into his bag to produce two pokeballs of his own! "Go, Drilbur! Go, Machop!" He shouted, releasing two pokemon of his own. MachopLv. 10 Ability. No Guard Moveset- Leer

"... Wait, you had pokemon of your own?" Asked Doug, tilting a brow at the man. "Of course I have pokemon of my own; who doesn't?" Asked the man in return, perplexed at the question. "Why do you even need bodyguards for, then?!" Not that Doug minded getting paid, but jeez, it would have been nice to know the guy wasn't completely helpless if hell broke loose! "Oh, my pokemon aren't for fighting, silly." Said Henry, the meaning of the child's words finally dawning on him. "They are my personal excavation team . For small projects, naturally." He said, nodding at his pokemon, who both nodded back, a confident smirk across the Machop's face and a shy smile on the Drilbur's. "And speaking of which!" Said Henry, putting both hands on his hips. "Machop, Drillbur, here's the job. I need you to extract that gem-" He said, pointing at the jewel in question, still firmly attached to the floor. "-hopefully without causing any damage to it. Understood?" The two pokemon nodded up at Henry, before turning themselves towards the jewel. Henry turned towards the children instead, "They'll be extra careful in the extraction, so this won't be too quick." He said while reaching into his bg, producing a thermos. "Fancy some tea?" "... Sure, why not." Was all the boy could say, sighing as he began the process of sitting on his ass. At that very moment, Drilbur brought its claws together, channeling its energy through them as it began to prepare to utilize Drill Run onto the stone floor, intent on weakening the structure holding the jewel so that Machop could then utilize its super strength to extract it. Unfortunately, the moment the mole pokemon drilled so much as an inch into the floor, shit hit the fan. Quickly. Lights suddenly shone across the walls, square-like, spiraling patterns shining like streamlines, strange, round, bipedal silhouettes beginning to across the walls... "Oh boy." "Oh shit." I'll leave it to the reader to decide who said which. The blocks of stone directly in front of the silhouettes suddenly turned to sand, dissolving in place to reveal what appeared to be an automaton of some sort. Two bright square shapes, one a rectangle, another an mirrored L, suddenly shone brightly in what appeared to be its head. The same process occurred all over the walls of the chamber, the stone blocks in front of the silhouetes dissolving to reveal similar automatons. "Golett." murmured Henry under his breath, gulping. Doug sideeyed him wearily, before reaching into his pocket. "The fuck?" Was all the boy could bring himself to say, producing his pokedex. ' Golett, the automaton pokemon. These Pokémon are thought to have been created by the science of an ancient and mysterious civilization. The energy that burns inside it enables it to move, but no one has yet been able to identify this energy.'Ground/Ghost type.Ground.Doug glanced up, knowing his Joltik still laid on his head. Joltik responded by glancing down at him, sharing his thoughts. ' Goddamn it'. "We need to get out of here!" Shouted the boy, noticing that though the automatons had activated, their movements appeared to be sluggish, with most of them struggling to get themselves out of the wall. "We still haven't extracted the orb!" Protested Henry, the man slightly more brave now than he had been when a Kommo-O tried to kill them. To be fair to the archaeologist, the Golett did look far less threatening than the dragon had. "Then do it quickly, damn it!" Screamed the boy as he reached for more pokeballs, grasping Ledyba's, Dewpider's and Scyther's. "But it might break if we rush it!" protested Henry once again, drawing a frustrated groan from the boy. "Damn it, damn it, damn it! FINE! DOKURO! LET'S DO THIS!" Screamed the boy at his friend, throwing down all three of his pokeballs. Dewpider, Scyther and Ledyba entered the scene, glancing around in confusion at the strange setting they found themselves in. Well, Ledyba and Dewpider did. Scyther's sharp gaze settled on the plethora of Golett's struggling to rip themselves off the wall, and proceeded to drag narrow her eyes, struggling to keep the smirk off her lips. Quite the situation her trainer had thrown her in... she liked it. None of them could tell at all, but directly above them, yet another silhouette shone, much less brightly than the rest, to the point the darkness of the chamber could almost mask it completely. But this silhouette was different. Massive in size. And slowly gathering its energy...
