Dokuro is a really small guy, often teased about it. His hair is of medium length and unfixed most of the time. His skin has the tan of somebody who has spent much time out in the Sun. He looks like your average guy, though under his clothes he has a clearly well toned fit body from his martial arts training.
As he likes to do research out in the wild, he likes to be prepared, so he is often wearing cargo pants, and makes sure to always have notebooks to take quick notes and sketches.
Due to one of his fights against his friend and rival Doug, he ended up with a scar on his right cheek after clashing with him in a fight.
PERSONALITY
Dokuro is a very serious person, not usually one to make jokes or to understand them. He is a very curious person whenever it comes to his research on pokemon. He loves pokemon, and finds himself analyzing them more often than not, sometimes getting lost in the track of finding new stuff about them. Despite this, he also believes in having a strong body with a strong mind, so he likes training himself as a martial artist, fighting alongside his pokemon to better understand them.
Dokuro tends to act rather cold to people he just met, and even after getting acquainted with someone he may still seem rather cold, but once you get to become a good friend with him, he might actually seem, a bit less cold, though his appreciation can be noticed in his small actions.
Even though he does sketches for all his researches, he is not like he enjoys the arts, and often finds them pointless unless meant to showcase scientific advancements or theories. Books in general and research papers on pokemon habitat, moves, biology, etc are what actually excite him. This, however, is contrasted by his belief to have a strong body to go with his mind, so he never forgets to do his daily training alongside his pokemon.
Though he might be a serious person that makes no jokes, some of the stuff he does and reactions to certain things make him seem weird to some, be it as acting over dramatic or overreacting to stuff. He is still doing all that in all seriousness even though others might not perceive it that way.
BACKGROUND
Dokuro is the son of parents that hailed from Cianwood in Johto, but born in Shaula Town in the Stellara region. Because of this, his parents taught him how to be a martial artist, joining the dojo of the mother of his best friend Doug.
Through his training he developed an interest for researching pokemon moves, as through his martial arts training he was able to use some fighting moves too. He started looking up on the different types of pokemon and their moves, the other pokemon professors and their researches too. Much to his parents dismay, Dokuro didn't want to become a trainer of fighting type pokemon as them, or everybody from Cyanwood. He became more interested in an entirely different type, poison, after his fateful encounter with a group of fairy type pokemon bullying a group of Poliwraths that were training by the beach. When he tried to help them, a Mareanie popped out of the water and started fighting off the fairies with ease. After this, he kept going to that place in hopes to meet that Mareanie again, until it once again happened, and then it became an usual meeting. After a while they became good friends and in the end, that Mareanie became Dokuro's first pokemon after finally getting permission from his parents.

PERSONALITY — Dokuro's Mareanie has a high sense of justice, running to help any pokemon or person in trouble. After having helped though, tends to distance herself out of shyness, taking a while until she acts more open to new possible friends.
But she is also very stubborn, and usually won't stop until things go the way she wants it.
Just like Dokuro, she is very curious but gets easily embarrassed, and likes to play in the water a lot.
She likes sour and spicy food, but won't turn away food that does not meet this criteria, unless is sweets. No matter what kind of sweets they are, she will say no to eat them, or even run away to avoid being asked again to eat them.
