[/b]: Dr. Logan Objective: Obtain the Otredil plant that grows only in Tucana Rainforest. Location: Tucana Rainforest Difficulty: ★★★ Reward: 15 PD[/ul]
Pulling his gaze away from the PokeNav, Douglas yawned, finding the instructions from their client terribly over-dramatic. He had been to the Tucana Rainforest before, he wasn't worried about having to 'fight in self-defense'. If anything, he invited it. He would take any training for his pokemon that he could find. He would have been doing that instead of this errand of a quest if he hadn't needed the cash, frankly. Well, at least he had Purple to suffer alongside him. "Well," He said, clapping his hands to get his friend's attention. "We'll have to go deep into the rainforest to find these 'Otredil' plants. It'll give me some time to give you the tour, at least." He commented conversationally as he began making his way into the forest, expecting his friend to keep up. "I think I told you before of the pokemon around here? If you are set on Poison types, this should be a good chance, actually." [/div]

Dokuro made his way to the Tucana Rainforest, much to his friend Douglas' request shortly after their battle back at Rana Town. He didn't even managed to finish the research he wanted to do there, so he almost disagreed, but got convinced when the possibility of studying more poison type pokemon, together with special kind of plants, came about.
It was very humid, as a rainforest would be. Thank Arceus it wasn't currently raining, or it would make the trip more unpleasant.
"Let's get this over with. I may not mind going out for my research, but this place is just not my taste at all, I'm just doing this because of the possible pokemon we could find, and I'm slightly interested in those plants too if they are so rare. Maybe can even learn some stuff from this Dr. Logan guy."
'I'll also need to see if I can make Salandit stop being so focused on stealing...' Thought Dokuro while holding Salandit's pokeball. He looked up to his Mareanie, who gave him a nod in return. She knew what Dokuro was thinking, and she would help out as much as she could to make Salandit a better pokemon too.
"Mareanie, I'll also need you to keep an eye out"
"Nie! (Yes!)" Mareanie started focusing on the surroundings, in case an aggressive wild pokemon showed up, she would be ready to counter attack.

Mission, in process. The trip into the rainforest was about as much of a pain as one would have expected. The air was arid, the atmosphere thick, humid and all around hard to breath in. It reminded Doug of some of the stamina training they had undergone before. "Wonder how mom and dad are doing." He commented conversationally to his friend as he pushed yet another branch aside, keeping a lazy eye out for their surroundings. He didn't really think they had much to worry about. The wild Pokemon around the place seemed rather tame to him, at least from what he could remember last time he had been there. Not to mention that his Scyther and his Latesta were both tough troopers. They would be fine dealing with all the forest had to offer, surely. Looking into his PokeNav's map, he checked their progress, the mapping program within the machine informing him of how much more distance there was between their current position and the spot the Doctor had marked for them before. "Well, there's quite a bit of more walking to be done before we get there. Wanna play a game in the meanwhile?" He asked his friend casually, though he did not even wait for the other boy's response before he began looking around the forest, holding his chin thoughtfully. "I spy with my little eye.... Something beginning with... T!"

"If you really wonder how they are why not just call them? Doesn't your PokeNav has a phone function too?" Said Dokuro while pointing at Douglas' PokeNav. "Personally I bet my parents are just fine doing the same, practicing in their martial arts like crazy. Also, Tree."
This game was boring, not much to see so far. Or at least they thought. Mareanie started warning Dokuro. There was something, a pokemon, nearby.
"Where is it Mareanie?"
"I spy two things. One starts with an N, and the other with an L." Dokuro didn't really seemed much interested in them. They weren't exactly the kind of pokemon he hadn't seen before, but guessed that his friend would be glad to have that Ledyba added to his bug collection. Mareanie stood in her place, ready to take action in case any of the wild pokemon noticed them and decided to attack, though hopefully that would not be the case.
'If anything, I might be able to research some moves if he decides to fight and catch it'.

Mission, in process. The boy rolled his eyes, refusing to look at his pokenav. "I mean like, right now. I'm just bored enough to start wondering." Of course he knew exactly what they were doing and how well they were; they both loved their job. "Man, that was too easy. Well, your turn." He said as he took a look around the forest slowly, trying to see if he could find something else for when his turn came. It was a bit of a tall order, however. Everything within sight was a damn tree or a plant. Everything, 'cept for... "Ledyba and Not-Ledyba." Said the bug catcher in response to his friend as he reached into his belt for an empty net ball, grinning wide. Almost as soon as he did, the Ledyba seemed to heard them, swinging about sharply midflight to face the boys. Its gaze was hard as steel, seemingly sizing them up, before its eyes settled onto the net ball in Doug's hand. It snorted suddenly, before raising one of its fist towards him, seemingly pointing at him. A second passed in silence before Doug suddenly narrowed his eyes at the pokemon, his hand slowly lowering the net ball as he glowered at the pokeball. "Oi..." He muttered as he clipped back the ball onto his belt. "Is that a challenge?" He asked lowly, his tongue pushing at the inside of his cheek as he took two steps forward, popping his neck from side to side. The Ledyba crossed its multiple arms over its round torso, looking at the boy directly in the eye. "I'll take that as a yes." Said the boy lowly as he grabbed at his hat and bag, before throwing it at his friend. "Hold onto these for me, dude. Things are about to get intense." He was being tested by the soon to be new member of his team. And he was all too willing to go along with it. It would be a nice way to test his new pokemon as well. The boy suddenly broke into a sprint towards the pokemon, leaping into the air and extending his right leg forward in a jump kick. "WATAH!" He screamed ferociously as he brought his foot onto the pokemon, the Ledyba crossing its arms in front of itself to block the blow before shoving the foot back, prompting the boy to push and flip away. He landed on the floor, his position low and his arms raised in defense, just in time to catch the Ledyba's fist as it moved in and took a swing at his face. The blow blew his single arm guard away and was immediately followed by three other punches from its other arms. If the way his arm was blown away was anything to go by, that wouldn't go well for his face. The boy threw himself to the floor instead, the fists sailing over his head and missing him by barely an inch, his foot coming swinging up with the motion of his body and slamming onto the Ledyba's back, sending it face-planting into the soil. For a moment, they both remained still, the boy laying on the ground on his back, the Ledyba on its face. Then the Ledyba promptly yanked its face off the ground, before slowly turning to face the boy. They looked each other in the eye. An understanding seemed to go between them right then and there. ' You'll do.' Doug slowly turned towards Dokuro just as the Ledyba crossed the distance between itself and him, propping itself onto his shoulder. "And that's how you get pokemon into your team." Said the boy to his friend as he reached for his netball and gently pressed it to the Ledyba's noggin'. LedybaType Bug/Flying Level 5, Gender male Ability Early Bird MoveSet
Personality
A fierce, justice driven warrior who seeks to become stronger by facing powerful opponents. Though its appearance is that of a meek Ledyba, it is foolish to underestimate its guts, as it does not know the meaning of giving up or backing down. Because it possesses an impressive moral compass, it cannot allow injustice to happen in its presence, and rains down its wrath upon those foolish enough to act villainously in its presence. Because it desires to become more powerful, it tends to test its mettle against anything that accepts its challenge, and seeks a powerful trainer that would help it achieve greater heights. Powerful in a literal sense; it mistakenly believes that a greater combat aptitude means the trainer is better at making it powerful. Though seemingly weak, its punches pack more power than one would guess at a single glance. It has been training its fists religiously in order to make up for the fact that it wasn't naturally born with the iron fist ability some Ledyba's posses. It has been said that the line between courage and recklessness is a thin one, and this Ledyba might just be the proof of it. Because it cannot tolerate injustices, it jumps at the call long before it can know if it is even a match for its opponent, and it refuses to back out of a fight, even if it cannot possibly win. It could also be said to be incredibly selfish, as its refusal to back away is not shaken in the slightest regardless by how it may affect its trainer and its companions.

Unwillingly, Dokuro held his friend's stuff.
"Just as I expected. You bug maniac just can't keep yourself out of a bug pokemon no matter what" On the other hand, there was nothing around that still interested Dokuro. He was starting to think that it might have not been the best idea to follow his friend on this mission, but he indeed had to repay him for what happened.
It was most certainly not that uninteresting of a fight, though it was still not enough to spark Dokuro into being more motivated.
"Well, I guess that Ledyba would do for a good sparring partner too by the looks of it. Maybe I could get some practice in with him too from time to time, don't you think?"
Dokuro let his friend's possessions fall on top of him while continuing moving to their objective.
"Also, I know how to catch pokemon. I just haven't found any that fully interests me more than these two so far."
[passing on the Gulpin too. Let's see what round 3 brings out]

Mission, in process. "Bug Catcher, Not maniac." He corrected sharply, narrowing his eyes from where he laid on the ground with his newly filled netball. He did not take kindly to being called one of those guys. The boy soundly let all the air escape his lungs as his bag landed solidly in his guts, his friend as nice and careful as he would have expected. " Thanks." He chocked out as he rolled over onto his chest, coughing as he stood to his feet and swung his bag onto his back, placing the straw hat on his head were it belonged. He fell into step behind his friend, fiddling with his pokeball and grinning wide. Another one added to the team. With this, he actually had a full team of pokemon. Granted, his team was still lacking in balance. There were too many typing repeats on his team: That is, there were repeats at all. He needed a well balanced team if he was to become the champion with bug type pokemon alone. "Could have fooled me, what with having only two pokemon and all that." Snorted out the boy at his friend, rolling his eyes as they passed by yet another perfectly acceptable poison type pokemon that his friend didn't even bother to pokedex scan.
"Jeez, talk about a tough crowd. You won't be catching anything with those standards, mister." He informed his friend flippantly as he moved to take point, beginning to break into a fast paced jog; his pokeNav's GPS had just informed him they were beginning to close into the area they were looking for. "We are nearly there, Purple. Try and catch something before we have to return, would you?" He 'requested', grinning cheekily at his friend. Hopefully a little bit of friendly prodding was all it took. He really didn't want to wait for months to get a decent challenge out of his friend just because his high ass standards were getting in the way of him making a few new friends.

"Is not like I haven't caught more pokemon because I didn't know how to catch them. I'm just not gonna add any random pokemon on my team. The pokemon that join my team are gonna be the very best, like no pokemon ever was." Mareanie was nodding to every word he said, knowing that she was really great.
While they were walking and his friend was still talking to deaf ears, Dokuro's eyes were taken hold by a moving patch of grass. Or, rather, a pokemon that was actually a moving patch of grass. It lighted a spark of interest in Dokuro, seeing such a bizarre display of nature.
"Oddish?" The pokedex gave Dokuro the information he needed. "No way, this is what it comes from?" The "it" in question was none other than Bellosom. He remembered how in Johto they were very popular and aromatized the whole region. It was also a popular choice with some kimono girls to dance with, other than the eevees of course.
"Yes, I've decided." Dokuro throws a Quick Ball on the Oddish. "No better moment to throw one of these than at the very beginning. Now let's hope this does the job".

Mission, in process. Doug didn't even know why he bothered with these guy. He rolled his eyes as his friend ignored him completely, juggling his new pokemon's netball thoughtfully before shrugging to himself and throwing it in the air, the device opening up and releasing the pokemon. The Ledyba hovered in the air for less than a second before it did a floating backflip and allowed itself to fall with a whoop, the young bug catcher yelping as he found himself forced to leap to catch the falling pokemon. Doug breathed in relief as the small weight of the pokemon fell on his arms, wondering what the heck had that been all about. It was clearly not hurt by his kick before, and is wings were fine... Ledyba seemed content upon being caught, jabbing with its fist at Doug's shoulder amicably. The boy rubbed at his shoulder, tilting a thin brow at the flying bug type, before returning the grin. Ah, whatever. It was already comfortable enough to be playful with him, which was more than he could say about Dewpider and Scyther, so he would take it. He and Ledyba exchanged soft, playful punches as they walked through the jungle, blocking, catching and parrying one another's fist until Dokuro's words suddenly stopped them in their tracks. He was never one to talk needlessly. At least not when he thought there were people around him anyways. He could be weird as hell when he thought he was alone. "'Like no one ever was' indeed." Doug murmured to the Ledyba sarcastically, rolling his eyes. The Ledyba placed two of its fists over its mouth, snickering in response. "Well, about time you finally got to it ma-" Before he could even finish, his friend had already chucked a Quick ball at he Oddish, leaving both him and Ledyba in silence. "That's not going to work." He informed his friend, blinking blandly.

WILD POKEMON SPAWN Oddish level 5, male/female, Chlorophyll Absorb/Growth/Sweet ScentOddish is a very systematic Pokemon; a lot of what he/she does has a specific routine, and Oddish will stick to that routine whenever possible. The grass-type likes order and consistency in his/her life, and he/she will try to make sure nothing makes him/her deviate from his/her routines. Oddish surprises others with his/her exceptional observation skills, but unfortunately, Oddish is an incredibly opinionated Pokemon. He/she will say whatever is on his/her mind, regardless of whether or not the opinion is tactful or not; this can lead to conflict and hurt feelings. Oddish is generally wary of trainers and will be watching his/her new trainer very, very closely until he/she becomes more comfortable. The Pokeball shook once, twice before snapping open and releasing the Oddish. The grass-type looked a bit peeved and proceeded to give Murasaki a dirty look. OOC: Capture attempt failed. Make sure to wait until you get the Pokemon's personality before you try to catch it.

"Hey, these balls were designed to be used right away, might as well give them a try don't you think?" Dokuro didn't really mind, it gave him time to devise a strategy. "It seems it prefers the cold and the night. Guess is not going to be too hard considering the time of the day, though I do expect him to be a little bit pissed at this" 'Maybe I should try this other ball I got here' Dokuro grabbed a ball, and pressed a button on it. A Timer started counting on it.
And in no time, Oddish was out of the pokeball. "Well, that ball didnt work as well as expected. Time for Plan B. Mareanie, go. Use Peck on Oddish."
Marenie jumped from Dokuro's head to the Oddish, who was looking dirty at Dokuro. It was a direct hit, Oddish clearly not liking the attack on her. Getting back on the ground, the Oddish started shaking the leaves on her head, generating a really Sweet Scent around the area. Mareanie, who smelled it, started feeling a bit groggy from how sweet the smell was. "Uh? What is this smell?" Said Dokuro, who was sniffing it too. "Oh no, it's... Sweet Scent... Ah..."
Taking the chance, Oddish proceeded to channel her roots to the ground to power herself up with Growth and then casted Absorb on Mareanie. Mareanie felt her body weakening from the attack, while Oddish was regaining her power.
"Uh... Oh no! Snap out of it! Mareanie!" 'This is embarrassing, can't believe we fell for that move' "Mareanie, use Haze! Then grab Oddish with your tentacles so she can't run away and hit her with Pecks until she's done for!"
Mareanie let out a a black mist out of her, managing to counteract the sweet air spreaded by Oddish, and also weakening Oddish back from her power up. While the black mist as still covering Oddish, not allowing her to see, Mareanie latched herself onto her with her spiky tentacles, and started landing wave after wave of Pecks on Oddish.
In response, Oddish released a new wave of Sweet Scent point blank at Mareanie, who took the full effect of it and almost fell down from such attack. "Mareanie!" Oddish then rooted herself and used Growth to power back up again and Absorb on Mareanie yet again. 'This pattern...' "Mareanie! Snap out of it! Use Haze and keep your distance shooting Poison Stings! And keep shooting more Haze the moment you see Oddish about to release her sweet scent!"
And Mareanie did just that. After dispersing the sweet scent she unleashed a barrage of poisonous darts against Oddish. But Oddish was perfectly observing Mareanie, predicting the target of each of her shots, and managed to evade every single one of them. "Tch, we'll have to do this in close combat Mareanie! Get in close and use Peck again!"
Oddish was still able to evade Mareanie's attack, getting her movement read perfectly yet again. Right after that, Oddish was about to counter attack with another Sweet Scent, but as that happened "RIght there! Mareanie, Haze and then Peck!" Mareanie launched her black mist against Oddish, and while it covered her, nailed Oddish good with the pecks!
"Excellent job Mareanie. Now, it should be about time for..." Ding "Go, Timer Ball!" Dokuro threw a Timer Ball to Oddish. Now inside the ball, it was just a matter of time.
"This should do the trick now. See Doug? This is real strategy" Said Dokuro, with a serious, almost emotionless face and two fingers against it between the eyes.
