i don't know my name i don't play by the rules of the game. so you say i'm just trying, just trying...? “So… loud…”The soft croaking voice of the Mimikyu Morph was all but lost in the revelry, and, though her features were hidden, Dox couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed at the crowds gathered within Vega City. “Didn’t think… so many people… in the whole world…” Memories of her small town – small enough to not even show up on most Stellara Region maps, though she wasn’t aware of that – surfaced, and a part of her knew that the masses gathered here greatly outnumbered the citizens in the little town. Nerves caused the Ghost-type Morph to tense up a little, and she shifted in place. The Absol, faithfully by her side as always, huffed up at her, sounding a touch impatient. +Of course there are more people in the world than this, Dox. Far too many to ever even imagine in one place like this. … This is a crowded spot, though.+ A part of him felt some trepidation that this was Dox’s first real ‘foray’ into the public. Perhaps they should have started off smaller, where they were less likely to draw the wrong sorts of attention. Perhaps attending one of the major events in the Region had been a bad call. Even if that was the case, however, it was hard to turn back now. Despite her anxieties, Nil could sense the excitement radiating from Dox, and he knew that dissuading her from the current course was all but impossible. The only thing he could do was keep an eye on her and their surroundings, just in case. +… You made gifts to give people, remember? It would be a shame to leave without doing that.+ The Absol suppressed a sigh; despite his own misgivings, and the feeling that this wasn’t the best place for Dox to be, it was important for her to get some sort of social experience. The Mimikyu Morph straightened up rather abruptly, causing the ears atop her hoodie to flop over. “That… is right!” came the excited, fragmented response. One long, too-thin hand extended from a long sleeve, slipping into her bag and plucking a small flower crown from the satchel with surprising care. Yellow-and-white daisies, along with a couple of small, pink carnations, were neatly arranged along the crowd, and Dox shifted to cheerfully place the brightly-colored flora atop her head. “There! I look… good?” She turned her masked face down towards Nil, who regarded her through narrowed, critical eyes. +… It suits you,+ he finally conceded, startling a bit as Dox made a ‘joyful’ noise that sounded more like a dying Glameow than a happy sound to Nil. The Absol’s fur bristled slightly as she pointed a hooked, inky finger the Absol’s way. “One… for Nil… as well!” +… I don’t think I need one, really, but--+ He yelped as the Morph produced another crown from her bag so quickly that he hadn’t even seen her move. This crown had mostly-white flowers, though some had been carefully stained greys and blacks using inks and pigments the Morph carried with her. A couple of deep crimson flowers broke up the otherwise-greyscale color theme. “Brings out.. your eyes,” Dox hissed in explanation as she cheerfully situated the crown over the Absol’s head, carefully navigating it over the canine’s head-scythe. Nil stared blankly up at her, feeling a touch flustered. +I… Thank you, Dox. But, er, let’s… find other people to give more of these to, alright? … You do have more, right?+“I have… so many…” she purred cheerily, shifting to make her way through the crowd. Nil scrambled after her, moving carefully so as not to dislodge the crown Dox had gifted him with. With an impressed whistle, Koa looked around at the large crowd "Even the festivals back home didn't have so many people attending...there's so much to see and do...even if I spent all week here I doubt I'd see everything." he said. All of Koa's Pokemon were rather small, so he only had Azura out right now and was carrying her in his arms as he walked along the outer edges of the crowd. There were so many activities and shows going on at the moment. Various spectacles from battles between random contestants to small scale contests dotted the city at this time of night. Azura looked around at all of the sights in awe and Koa smiled down at her "There's a lot of cool things to look at, aren't there? Let's try not to get too lost in all of this."
The scent of various food being cooked in the nearby stands spread out across the bustling streets. Much of it smelled great, though almost sickeningly sweet at times. Much of it seemed to be fried food and a lot of it was stuff Koa didn't even know could be fried. He didn't want to spoil his or his Pokemons' appetite though, so he would wait to go somewhere for dinner as opposed to eating too much of the gala food. For now he would look around and maybe attempt to socialize. But with who? He didn't see anyone familiar in the crowds. While he walked through the crowds, he was stopped several times by various people attending the gala to ask him about Azura, whom many found to be adorable. Azura was a little embarrassed by all of the attention, but the people seemed friendly enough at least! After gently making his way through the crowds, he sees a sight he wasn't familiar with. A girl in a yellow, Pikachu-like hoodie and a crown of flowers on her head. Next to her was an Absol, who seemed rather flustered with another crown on its head. The girl's arms were long and unnaturally thin, but instead of unnerve Koa, he seemed curious instead. When preparing for his journey he had heard rumors of beings called Morphs, though he had yet to meet one during his travels. Was this girl one of them? She resembled Mimikyu, a Pokemon that many people warned him about as the mere sight one's true form could send one into shock or worse. That didn't deter Koa at all, however. He was never one to judge or condemn people or Pokemon simply over what they were. When he approached, he waved, an action Azura mimicked "Hello there." he said. He was trying to break the habit of saying Alola every time. "Pretty busy around here, isn't it? Gotta say, it's pretty impressive that so many people are here to experience this. It's a bit overwhelming actually." he said with a chuckle. "I'm Koa Leilani. It's nice to meet you." he said as he gave her a warm smile. Azura stared at her curiously, though kept her usual happy-go-lucky expression. "So what brings you around here, anyway? Giving people flowers? Enjoying the gala?" Koa asked. He respected others who tried to spread some semblance of joy and friendliness. dox PokemonAzura, Popplio, Level 7. Moves: Pound, Water Gun, Growl, Charm. Rythix, Fomantis, Level 7. Ashton felt rather at home in all of the revelry, given how open and friendly he tried to be most of the time. As such he was grinning ear to ear, stepping through the crowds smoothly despite his size. He glanced around the crowds, a kabob in one hand, enjoying a brief snack as he explored the Gala. It really was something else, people from all over gathering together in one city just for a big old massive party. He had his Pokemon away for the moment, not wanting them to get lost in the crowd which he made his way through it. He'd spot the pair, tilting his head as the girl reached up to place the flower crown atop her Absol. Was she a... Mimikyu morph? The Pikachu hoodie seemed to suggest that. He hadn't socialized too much since arriving at the Gala, despite everyone around and this was probably as good a time as any to start. He'd make his way through the crowd and over to them, feelers guiding his way through the crowd carefully. Before he'd make it, Koa and his popplio would approach first. He blinked, tilting his head a bit and slowing in his step, letting them greet the pair first as he smiled. It was good seeing people from other cultures integrating with their own and interacting with Morphs. It seemed like it would be easy for them to either be frightened, or worse, disgusted, so he was glad that he hadn't had to deal with much of that. He'd step up, offering a pleasant wave to the group, the crowd parting around the hulking Sylveon morph. He'd pause, waiting for Koa's introduction, and would wait for the Mimikyu morph's answer before he introduced himself as well, stepping forward. "Heya, I'm Ashton Ayredale." He'd greet, still grinning from ear to ear. "I hope I'm not imposing, it looked like you might be giving out flower crowns..."Pokemon:>> Duster: Level 8 Eevee ( Tackle, Covet, Growl, Helping Hand, Tail Whip, Sand Attack ) >> Medea: Level 7 Zorua ( Scratch, Leer, Pursuit ) >> Amaranta: Level 5 Budew ( Absorb, Growth )

i don't know my name i don't play by the rules of the game. so you say i'm just trying, just trying...? People seemed to be paying the pair of them some mind, at any rate – whether that was due to Dox’s strange appearance or the clash of said appearance with pretty, delicate flower crowns was anyone’s guess, however. The Absol remained tense and attentive as various people turned their way – some, perhaps unsurprisingly, moved out of the way as the Mimikyu Morph all but twirled cheerfully through the crowd. He was certain he saw one or two shoot her a suspicious, dubious gaze, and the Dark-type had to resist the urge to bare his teeth at anyone who shot her the wrong sort of look. Not everyone will like her – I don’t know why I’m surprised. But if anyone tries anything funny… Long, hooked claws scraped anxiously at the sidewalk as the Absol paused, trying to push the dark thought from his mind. The thought of being forced into combat in Dox’s defense left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he hoped that he was simply being pessimistic. And then, to both Absol and Morph’s surprise, someone actually approached them, causing Dox to cease movement and tilt her head at the man. He brandished his arm in a wave – a gesture the rather-adorable Popplio atop his head mimicked perfectly, to Dox’s delight – and the Mimikyu Morph froze for a second, staring blankly at the other trainer with her veiled gaze. She hadn’t honestly expected anyone to approach her and make small talk, and the wave she offered in return was sudden and quite enthusiastic – enough that the sleeve covering her hand slipped momentarily, revealing that long, skinny arm – inky and black and shadowy in its entirety, curiously enough – along with the sharp sickles she called fingers or claws. Hastily, she shifted to cover the appendage back up. When she spoke, her voice was a sort of croaking hiss; though it sounded ugly and discordant, the Mimikyu Morph was clearly excited. “Hi… there!” The small talk caught her off-guard for a moment, and she canted her head to one side, looking like a strange, curious dog as she considered his words. “It is… big. … Loud,” she offered simply, nodding vigorously enough for the ears atop her hoodie to waggle this way and that. “… Energetic! … Is nice.” Despite her misgivings about being in such a crowded place, the energy was intoxicating, and the Morph felt as though she could taste the excitement the masses gave off. At her side, Nil shot the young man and his Popplio a look through critical, narrowed eyes, shifting to take a more solid stance beside Dox. The massive Absol didn’t find anything immediately threatening about the pair, but even innocent-looking people could prove to be nasty, and he was sure to keep a close eye on them. Just because Dox seemed to let her guard down the second someone was polite didn’t mean he’d make a similar mistake. “I’m… Dox,” she oozed after a moment, voice cracking slightly. “Enjoying… festival. Making… gifts for people. … Having… fun.” Another vigorous nod. A new, unfamiliar voice distracted her for a moment, and both she and Nil did a bit of a double-take as they shifted to glance at the massive Sylveon Morph that had approached, grinning and displaying a set of very admirable teeth. The Absol bristled at the sight of the massive, pink-and-cream-furred man, and his look of surprise was surely mirrored on Dox’s face, even if her features weren’t visible. “You… are fluffy,” she replied after a long pause, barking out an ugly sound that might have been a laugh. She’d only met a couple of other Morphs, but she had to admit, she was envious of this fellow, with his pretty pink fur and the strange ribbons. He didn’t have to hide his visage beneath a cloak – a good thing, too, since she wasn’t sure they sold many clothes in his size. “I… am. You… want one?” A pause, before she shifted her gaze towards Koa. “You… want as well…?” She sounded decidedly hopeful, one hand already snaking towards her satchel in preparation to bestow floral gifts upon the two strangers. Koa took off his glasses and stowed them away. His eyes seemed...sad. Not for anything she had done, but because he felt a kind of sorrow for her. Insecurity and shame...they were feelings Koa knew firsthand and the fact that someone who already found so interesting felt that way was heartbreaking for him. He didn't flinch or otherwise seem disgusted by her claws or her voice. The Absol was a little intimidating, but he had the feeling he was just protecting his trainer and made sure to keep a comfortable distance. Azura simply rest atop Koa's head, staring curiously at the new people. She dearly hoped they would be Koa's friends "Hey, you know...you're the first Morph I've ever spoken with and I while I can't pretend to understand what being one entails, I know about Mimikyu from tales back home in Alola and how I should always beware around them...but I never really took their harsh words to heart. The value of someone can't be placed on the circumstances of what they are, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. I understand the want, or even need, to hide away your true form, but that doesn't mean you should be ashamed, okay Dox?" he showed her his right arm. There was a swirling purple tattoo wrapped around it, with an abstract purple skull on the back of his hand "This is a permanent reminder of a few years I regret back home. I got more than a few mean looks for having this, but that didn't stop me from doing what I thought was right, much like you. You're here spreading good will and love with these flowers, and that's enough for me." he said, expression serious. He then blushed and scratched his cheek "Ahem...in short, yes, I would love to have a flower crown."Azura pat at Koa's head, making a happy, almost giggling sound at how nervous he was about his little speech. She was proud of him for being able to say something so genuine and hopefully sweet to someone he had just met. Koa heard the other voice and turned around to see a large man. Another Morph, this one being just slightly taller than he was "Wow, you're a big guy." he said, keeping his warm smile "Nice to meet you, Ashton! Koa Leilani, in case you didn't hear." he extended a hand out to him. "That makes you the second Morph I've ever met. I've only been here in Stellara for about...I want to say a week? It's weird traveling for so long. Still, this is kind of crazy for me. I never imagined there would be people who really had the traits of Pokemon...that's awesome! You're a...Sylveon, right? I think that suits you. You seem like the gentle giant type. I...hope that doesn't sound weird?" he beamed happily despite his nerves. He didn't want to seem like he was just interested in them because they were Morphs. They seemed like genuinely nice people and he wanted to know more about them. Whenever Dox passed around the crowns, Koa would give one to Azura, which she put around her neck "There you go, Azura...hey, do you all want to go sit down somewhere, maybe grab a bite to eat? Or...is that too sudden for someone you've just met? I hope I'm not being overbearing..." he rubbed the back of his head nervously. He picked Azura up and cradled her "Oh yeah, this little sweetie is Azura. She's my first ever Pokemon." he said proudly and she nodded in response.

Ashton listened quietly, tilting his head one way, and then the other, large ears flopping to either side as Koa told some about his past. He didn't get a good look at the skull tattoo when it was shown to Dox, though honestly he probably wouldn't have recognized it, he wasn't overly aware of events from other regions. He smiled, nodding his head in agreement. He turned to Koa, and smiled warmly, taking his hand and shaking it firmly. “Koa. Dox. Good to meet both of you!” His feelers swiveled, extending a bit toward each of them. “Yes, a Sylveon. And I really do try to be gentle. I think it gets to being necessary if you’re as large as I am.” He laughed mirthfully, shaking his head. His smile seemed to be a permanent fixture on his face at this point, radiating kindness. As Dox asked if they'd like flower crowns of their own, he would look down to her and nod his head. “I would love one, yes.” He replied to her, kneeling down slightly to offer his claws, palm up. “Thank you very much, they're beautiful. Did you make these yourself?”Ashton would place the crown on his head gently when handed it, or would allow her to place it on his head if she tried, ears tilting and twitching. He looked over his shoulder and up at Koa, bobbing his head in another nod, “I wouldn’t mind settling for a bite to eat. Looks like there’s a lot of good food around us, too.” He grinned widely. “And trust me, I know good food when I see it.”dox Koa Leilani

i don't know my name i don't play by the rules of the game. so you say i'm just trying, just trying...? The Mimikyu Morph hesitated at the look in the stranger’s eyes – it was one she knew well, of course. She tensed up a little, the faintest little shudder rippling and disturbing the hoodie that so carefully masked her figure. Next to her, Nil shifted a little closer, ignoring the shudder that instinctively arose as his long-furred pelt brushed against the Morph’s strange, inky legs. Awkward tension prickled in the air as tangibly as anything else, and he needed to let Dox know that he was there, just in case she needed him. His words startled her a little, and the ears atop her hoodie twitched as she canted her head to one side, quietly listening to his rather vocal outburst. It was difficult to tell what the Morph was thinking, hidden as her features always were, but a certain wilt to her posture suggested a bit of discomfort at her issues being addressed so plainly. “Not… want to hide. Need to,” she interjected softly, shrugging and speaking plainly. There was no need to sugarcoat the situation, as far as she was concerned – detailing the potential dangers was far more important than pretending they didn’t exist. “Form is not… natural. Brings… bad luck. Sometimes worse. Curses… death… Bad idea to look, yes? Mind… cannot comprehend without…. consequence.” The noise choked out was a bit of a self-deprecative chuckle, but the words she uttered were, after so many repetitions, quite easy to muster. It clearly wasn’t the first time – nor the last, likely – that she’d offer such an explanation. +… Even if that’s true, it doesn’t mean you’re the same as you appear, Dox.+ The Absol rumbled quietly from her side, claws scraping against the pavement. He relaxed slightly as one of Dox’s clawed hands shifted down for a heartbeat to gently scratch at a spot behind his shoulder – one of his favorite spots. The tattoo was regarded with interest, though Dox knew nothing of the connotations behind it, save for what he spoke of. She wasn’t sure what it meant, but he seemed to regret having it, and one of those strange hands shifted to offer what she hoped seemed like a reassuring pat to the man. Her skin was strange and cold, and didn’t entirely feel like skin – the texture was somewhere between rubber and silk, as though it were solid, but not entirely so. “I think… it’s pretty. No matter what… it means,” she offered quietly, with another shrug. When the attention shifted to Ashton, she watched the interaction curiously, head tipping to the other side. She decided very quickly – as she had with Koa – that she liked this strange, pink-furred giant. The wide, seemingly-permanent smile upon his face felt warm and kind, and it was difficult for her to find any reason to mistrust the Sylveon Morph. A part of her felt quite fortunate that she’d encountered two kind, seemingly-good people so early in her travels; good luck wasn’t something she was accustomed to, after all. “Dox… made by self, yes,” she replied as they inquired about the flower crowns, sounding decidedly brighter. As she rummaged through the bag, she took quite a bit of time sifting through the available crowns, putting a bit of thought into which ones she’d offer the pair. Eventually, one hand extracted a thin, delicately-made crown boasting blooms of pink, white, and blue and offered it to Ashton. The color palette was a remarkable match, and that clearly hadn’t escaped Dox as she placed it into the Morph’s hands. “Here… Matches Ashton… nicely, I think…” she explained, dipping into a little bow. Koa was harder to choose for, though eventually she seemed to settle upon a brighter crown for the bespectacled trainer, offering a multi-colored piece of headwear towards him in a rather grand flourish. “Here. Is… bright and cheerful… like you,” she offered, sounding quite satisfied with her decision. It had been smart of her to make such an assortment of the things – the range of flowers in the Flatlands had thoroughly exceeded her expectations. A final crown was offered to the Popplio – Dox clearly didn’t want to leave anyone out of the gift offerings – before she clapped her clawed hands together, straightening up and appraising the recipients of her gifts. “You all… look lovely,” she concluded, nodding vigorously. The mention of food gave her pause, and she made a noise not too far from a hum as she considered. “… Dox could eat something. I… am not picky. Anything is good.” She hummed again, before offering another pat towards the Absol next to her. “This… is Nil. He is… much friendlier… than he looks.”The Absol frowned up at her briefly. +… Thanks, Dox.+ASHTON AYREDALE Koa Leilani 783 words. all the flowers, oop.

Koa had immediately felt a little guilty about talking about a subject that must have been very uncomfortable for her "Ah, I'm so sorry..." he bowed his head apologetically "I shouldn't have...I mean...t-the short of it is, I see you as a good person and...that's what's important to me. I hope we can be friends." he said with a nervous smile. Azura pat at his chest gently and looked worried about him. He wasn't quite used to conversations of this nature, so he would oftentimes feel extremely guilty afterwards if he said something that made another person uncomfortable. "I'm okay, Azura..." he said. He nodded at Dox's words, not wanting to continue the conversation if she didn't feel okay with it. He looked around as Ashton's feelers moved about "Well I think you succeed at that." he said. Koa seemed really happy to meet these two. It was a new experience, much like everything that's happened here in Stellara for him so far. "I'm new to traveling and such so it's nice that the people I've met here so far have been so friendly. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have a bit of help." he said with a chuckle. He watched her scratch behind her Absol, Nil's, shoulder and smiled. It was clear that she cared very deeply for him. Once more he seemed more curious than off-put when she pat at him. A blush crossed his face when she called the tattoo pretty "Oh...well I never really thought about it like that, but thank you. I've never had anyone say that about it before." he looked at his tattoo again and thought about what she said. He watched her interaction with Ashton and seemed happy that the two seemed to enjoy each others' company. He was kind and asked questions about the flowers, which she responded that she did in fact make them herself. The crown she brought out for Ashton was perfect. It matched his fur colors and everything. It was absolutely precious to see. It was a little surprising that she wanted to give one to him as he felt he might have made a poor first impression, but was appreciative of the colorful arrangement of the crown for him. Once more he blushed brightly when she called him bright and cheerful "W-wow, thank you. That means a lot. I try my best." he said. He placed it gently on his head. The colors reminded him of some of the dancers in Alola. "It's beautiful." he said. Today was going great so far. Koa placed the crown offered to Azura atop her head and she barked in joy as she clearly approved of the crown and its colors. It was rather impressive how they all seemed fitting to those she offered them to. Koa chuckled "She likes it! And I do too. It looks great on her." he gently poked Azura's noise which elicited a small giggle sound from her. He looked around for a moment, trying to find a place that didn't seem too crowded, which was easier said than done during a festival. Eventually he realized that it was going to be crowded no matter what, so he picked a restaurant that looked like it had some seats left. "That place looks good, come on!" he called out. He looked back and Dox when she introduced her Absol "I don't think I've ever seen one like him before." he quickly pulled out his Pokedex and scanned Nil "An Absol...wow, there's a lot of interesting stuff about them isn't there? I think he's pretty cool." he said. He waved at Nil before looking at the menu examples outside the restaurant "Looks like this place has something for everybody. They got burgers, pastas, salads...that's just to name a few. How about it? Want to give this place a try?"

Ashton grinned, looking the crown over in his hands before lifting it to his brow. He posed a bit after adjusting the crown, the feelers from his ear extending to slightly wrap around it and be sure that it stayed in place as he nodded. ”It’s perfect! Thank you.” He said, nodding down at the Mimikyu morph with a genuine smile. It really did match him perfectly, looking right at home on the top of his large head. ”These are wonderfully crafted. I could never manage something so delicate. Not with these hands.”He made a little show of lifting his large hands and wiggling the fingers of them, and laughed softly. He smiled as Nil was introduced, and leaned over to gently scratch the top of the Absol’s head, very carefully. Immediately kind with just about any Pokemon, or at least he tried to be. ”Oh, I don’t know, he seems friendly to me.” He grinned, nodding his head down at the Absol. He stretched slightly, and then looked to Koa and his new flower crown. He’d follow as the other led them off, leaning to examine the menu. He was far from picky, though he tried to stay relatively healthy. Hard to do, in a Gala like this, but he was doing his best. He smiled, nodding appraisingly. ”Looks good to me, I think a salad would be nice.” he said, ushering them over with a sweep of a large, pink and cream arm, gesturing inside. dox Koa Leilani

i don't know my name i don't play by the rules of the game. so you say i'm just trying, just trying...? The Morph canted her head to one side, finding the sudden emotional change in the human quite interesting. Though she certainly felt awkward about the conversation at hand, Dox saw little reason to be apologetic about it – it was something unavoidable and unchanging. Ignoring it and everything that came alongside it would be like ignoring a terminal illness; if one tried hard enough, they might be able to delude themselves into pretending it was all fine and dandy. But the issue was still there, and the consequences couldn’t be avoided forever. And so the Mimikyu Morph merely shrugged once more. She might have smiled, had the gesture been visible. “Friends… are good,” she reassured in her croaking growl, aiming to offer another reassuring pat. “Dox hopes… she is good… too.”She nodded and offered a quiet sound of agreement at Koa’s next words. “This place… big and frightening… at times. But… is a good place… I think,” she rumbled. “Much is… different than my… hometown.” She’d already seen more Morphs in Vega City in general than she’d seen in her tiny town, and, though people did sometimes give her a wide berth, she hadn’t yet been met with the same scorn and revulsion she was accustomed to receiving. It was, in all honestly, a very refreshing change of pace. She brightened considerably at the warm reception all of her gifts were met with, clasping her hands together and offering a terrible sound that might have been a giggle. “I… am glad… you enjoy! My hands… can be delicate… if needed.” She hesitated for a moment, seeming to debate, before tugging her sleeves down just enough to showcase the strange, shadowy hands for a couple of moments. She wiggled large, hook-clawed fingers experimentally, focusing for a couple of moments before watching the shadows around them ripple and condense into digits smaller and sleeker. They almost looked human, if not for their unnatural longness and their shadowy nature. “Takes.. focus. But works.”Nil’s fur rippled slightly at the sudden, unwarranted contact, and he shrank back beside Dox, fixing the Sylveon Morph with a scowl and the softest click of his teeth. The massive, pink-furred man hadn’t been deemed a threat, but Nil would sooner eat his own foot than let even a kind stranger offer him surprise head scratches. The Absol said nothing, but the look through narrowed eyes he shot at Ashton likely said enough. Dox chittered out another laugh, clawed fingers shifting down to gently run through the Absol’s thick fur. The Dark-type relaxed at the familiar, though strange, petting, though he kept his gaze upon Koa and Ashton. “Nil… is good. I love him… however grumpy he may be.”The Absol grumbled, shifting his paws and looking quite flustered. She shifted after the group, Nil faithfully by her side. “I… have never been in a restaurant,” she commented suddenly, sounding a touch sheepish. “I will… figure out what to eat inside,” she rumbled quietly. The closest she’d gotten to eating in a restaurant was Nil taking money inside to pay for a meal that had been ordered to-go for the pair of them. This was definitely different, but a part of her was excited to see what it was like. Koa Leilani ASHTON AYREDALE 542 words. sorry for the delay!!!

Koa was positively delighted that Dox wanted to be his friend, once more not minding the reassuring pat from her "I agree with you. Friends are good. I'm sure you'll be a great friend and I hope I can be the same." he smiled. Dox's words about the city being much huge and so different from her hometown, he nodded "I understand that. This is definitely much different than what I'm used to as well. It's fun though! Seeing how different cultures celebrate and act has always been interesting for me." he said. He watched as Dox shifted the shape of her hand to be more humanoid and dexterous "Wow...that's really cool if you ask me! Again, thank you for these crowns. They're beautiful." he said. He laughed a little bit when Nil got a little moody with Ashton trying to pet him "Seems like he's the kind of Pokemon that needs to warm up to others first. He seems rather close to you, Dox, and that's something to really be happy with."
After their conversation outside, he stepped inside when Ashton held the door for them "Thanks, Ashton!" The inside of the restaurant was relatively quiet compared to the celebrations outside. The group is greeted by an employee who would guide them to an open booth and bring them their menus. Koa would wait for the others to choose where they wanted to sit before he got into the booth with Azura sitting in his lap. He relaxed "Aah, it's nice to sit down after a long day." he said. When asked for their drinks, Koa said "Oh, I'll just have an iced tea. Can I have a little glass of ice water for my Pokemon? Thank you."Koa idly flipped through the menu "Let's see...what here sounds good...hm, they have chicken alfredo. That looks pretty good..." he mused for a moment "I think that's what I'll get." he decided. He looked down at Azura "Hey there, Azura. Nice to sit down, right?" he asked. She barked in agreement with Koa. He took her flippers in his hands and wiggled them around a little to play with her, something she took delight in. While they waited for food, Koa wanted to continue talking with his new friends "I'm still trying to figure out what it is I want to do here in Stellara. Someone I met in Eridani City said I should take the gym challenge, but I'm still pretty much a novice when it comes to Pokemon battling. I haven't had that many battles yet...it's something I'm considering though. I want to form something truly meaningful with my Pokemon and grow alongside them." he said. Soon the drinks would arrive and Koa helped Azura sip at her water "What about you two? What have you got planned if you don't mind me asking?"dox ASHTON AYREDALE

Ashton would draw his hand back respectfully when Nil retreated from him. He was respectful of the Pokemon’s obvious wishes not to be touched, inspecting him as he scowled. He snuffed a bit, and then laughed. ”Grumpy is fine. I think he’s cute, myself.” he said, feelers wiggling in the air in the general direction of the Absol, though they didn’t actually move close to him. ”Better grumpy and defensive than aggressive and cruel.”He’d offer a smile, dipping his head respectfully as they passed into the restaurant. He stepped in behind them. He took his seat on one of the sides of the booth… and took up most of that side on his own. He settled back in his seat, looking up to the waiter as they approached, nodding his head. ”I’ll take a water, and I’d like to order an appetizer sampler for the table, please.” He said, glancing around to the others at the table with a soft smile. He’d then look over his own menu quietly, ears swiveling between Dox and Koa as he scanned it quietly, and then settled it to the side. ”I think I’ll just go with a Chicken Caesar.” he decided with a simple nod, and then would look up at Koa as the other asked about their plans. ”I’m planning on doing the Gym challenge myself, actually. Just training up and practicing at this point. I think everyone should give it at least one shot, you never know how things will go. Maybe we can have a battle some time, try our hand at each other.” He nodded his head, smiling toward Koa, canting his head to the side slightly. ”…It’s that or the Contests. I think Duster would do well in them once he’s evolved.” He nodded his head quietly, ”As would Medea, my Zorua, she looks like she’s going to be quite the amazing specimen when she evolves. Already larger than average, I’ve no idea just how big she’ll be as a Zoroark.”Koa Leilani dox

i don't know my name i don't play by the rules of the game. so you say i'm just trying, just trying...? The Absol snorted sharply at being deemed ‘cute’ by the Sylveon Morph, shooting a mutinous look his way before seeming to deliberately turn his attention towards Dox instead. Nil rumbled quietly to himself as he fell quiet, keeping his ears open to the small talk going on between the strangers and his trainer. The Absol was surprised – he had to admit, he’d fully been expecting a catastrophe. The fact that nothing had erupted into explosive chaos as a result of Dox was quite impressive. Even so, a strange sense of dread left his fur prickling, and he found himself wishing that they were far, far away from Vega City, gala or not. The Morph nodded along to Koa’s words, a soft, crackling hum escaping her throat as she slipped into the restaurant behind the trainer. Sharp fingers waggled in a tiny wave towards the employee that guided them to their seats, and the Mimikyu Morph settled down into a booth, opting for the side closer to the wall (it made her feel a little more secure, if nothing else). She drummed her claws gingerly against the tabletop, turning her masked gaze up towards the waiter. If they were at all surprised by the strange trio sitting at their booth, they didn’t seem to show it; Dox wasn’t sure if the Gala brought all sorts of strange fellows to the city or whether the waiter simply had a good poker face. “A… water for Nil, and… lemonade for me. The… pink kind, if you have it,” she growled decisively after a moment, taking a couple of moments to scan the menu. One eye was kept carefully watching Ashton and Koa, if only to see how they behaved in such a setting. Neither seemed to be acting particularly fancy or different, and a part of Dox felt quite relieved that there wasn’t some strange behavioral expectation that she was expected to perform. She mused over the menu and its options, still listening to the conversation around her. “I… have not really thought about it. Maybe… Gyms would be good, if Nil is… okay with it. … Could also… dress him up. For Contests.” She uttered a raspy chuckle as the Absol poked his head out from beneath the table – where he’d taken up residence – to give her a dirty look. +If you try to put any of your clothes or ribbons on me, I’m going to… run away. Or something,+ he grumbled halfheartedly, shuffling his paws. It was clear that he’d sooner die than abandon Dox, no matter how many ribbons she made for him. +… I’ll think about the gyms, though. It can’t hurt to get stronger.+Dox made a noise that might have been agreement. “Being strong… would be nice. Dox just wants to… make people happy. That is good enough for Dox.”The Morph really had no clue what she wanted to do – the realization seemed to hit her like a semi-truck. Until recently, she’d hardly even thought she would be able to leave her town, let alone pursue whatever dreams and goals she could imagine. “A battle… could be fun. Sometime later.”Koa Leilani ASHTON AYREDALE 523 words. apologies for the delay!

Koa had wound up sitting next to Dox once everyone had chosen their seats. The restaurant had a very warm and inviting atmosphere, so Koa was happy he picked it out. It gave them all a chance to unwind from the crowds outside. The smell of the different kinds of meals filled the air "This place is so nice." he said, content. The waiter came back with the drinks and set them down in front of them. Koa squeezed the lemon slice over the tea before he dropped it in with the ice. He gave Azura her little glass of water "Here you go. Careful not to drop it now." he said. She carefully grasped it with her flippers and sipped away at her water. He took a drink of tea and sighed comfortably. He listened to Ashton talk about what he might want to do "I keep hearing that the gym challenges are really popular in a lot of regions for trainers. We don't really have that kind of thing in Alola. We have what's called the Island Challenge, but that's more a rite of passage than anything else. I uh...never went on it for better or worse. Kind of regret it, so I think that's what made me decide to give this my all." he said. He wasn't sure why he talked about that, but it felt nice to get that off his chest. "Anyway, yeah! A battle one of these days sounds really nice. It gives me a chance to see where I am and how I need to improve." he said. Truth is he was nervous he wouldn't be able to put up a good challenge. He didn't want to disappoint anyone. Then Ashton mentioned the contests "Oh, contests? I met someone in Eridani City talking about those too. I'm not sure how good I'd be at that though...I don't really see myself as the creative type. I'll have to be sure to go when and if you decide to try one. I'll definitely give you my full support there. From what I know of Zorua and Zoroark, I think there's quite a lot of potential there for contest ideas."
Dox seemed to have the same idea as well "Looks like we all have a bit in common in what we want to do, huh? You meet all sorts of people when you travel it's nice to meet some that can encourage you or have similar goals to work towards." he said. He couldn't help but chuckle at Nil's reaction to the contests. He couldn't understand him, but he knew he was against the idea. "Make people happy...that's a great goal. The world can be tough, so any little act of kindness is a blessing. At least that's what I believe." he said. He suddenly got an idea "Hey, since we want to battle at some point, how about we share contact info so we can meet up again for that? And, well, just a way to keep in touch."
The appetizers would arrive soon. A variety of chips and dipping sauces, onion rings, bread sticks, and other small portions were set on a platter in front of them. "That's quite a lot to choose from..." Koa said. He took a bread stick and pulled it in half, giving one half to Azura. She placed her glass on the table and took the bread stick. The two of them enjoyed their light appetizer for the time being. ----------- dox ASHTON AYREDALE

Ashton would grin a bit at the suggestion of Nil in a get up for Contests… the idea was rather funny, but he doubted Nil would really want to go along with it. He settled back in his seat, comfortable, looking back to Koa as he explained the Island Challenge. ”That’s interesting, I hadn’t actually heard about the lack of Gyms in Alola… do they allow outsiders to try out the challenge, or is it strictly for those native to the islands? I may do so after I make my attempt here.” He replied with a warm smile, ”To be honest, even if my Pokemon would fare well, I think I’m in a similar situation to you, regarding the contests. I’m not much of a showman, so I’m not sure what all I could do. I might give it a try either way… worst thing I can do is lose, right?” He’d shift to the side in his seat, tugging out his phone and checking it briefly before he offered it to Koa, unlocked. ”Here, add your number if you don’t mind.” he said, drawing back as the food reached the table. He’d lean to scoop up a mozzarella stick, dipping it some of the marinara sauce as he continued, ”…I’ve always done my best to make people happy as well. It’s a goal to be proud in, Dox.” Ashton nodded his head firmly to the Mimikyu morph, agreeing with Koa. He’d then munch down on the mozzarella stick before grinning. He’d finish it up, lightly brushing his hand off on his shirt, quietly watching Koa’s interaction with Azura… ”How long have you known Azura? You seem quite bonded with her.”doxKoa Leilani
