This character isn't as clean slate as the others. For one thing, they would have to be dependable and responsible enough for the Wright patriarch to see him as more capable of leading the company compared to Arthur. He would be a rather restricted trainer--traveling would mostly be out of business, but he's allowed to do it in leisure also since he hasn't technically inherited the company yet. Nevertheless, this character could possibly be more ruthless and morally flexible compared to Arthur, though if you have something else in mind that could work, I would love to see it! I mean, he could be really nice for all we know and Arthur just hates how good he is to him.

There always has to be the spoiled brat. While this character doesn't have to attitude-wise a really haughty prince or princess, one must keep in mind that because they're the baby of the family, they have been given whatever they wanted with little question for most of their lives. I would imagine that the youngest sibling would always poke fun at Arthur's aloofness and awkwardness, preferring the second brother over him, but potentially while they're outside the building, they could foster a better relationship.

When Arthur opened up his gym for the first time, he had a challenger that managed not only to impress him but beat him because of their trust in their Pokemon. This passion for battling has led Arthur to question his own methods. Essentially this character would mean a lot to Arthur, and ultimately he would want to battle them again in the future. This can be an already made character but I would need to cross check if this segment can work into your character's background. If this character will challenge Arthur for the gym badge, I would assume that they'd be doing it out of posterity even if OOC-ly they wouldn't have the badge yet.
