Koa took in a deep breath as he looked at the sights in front of him. He took off his glasses and wiped the mist from them before he put them away. He wouldn't be able to see anything if they kept fogging up. A sleeping Fomantis rested in his arms, though it would sometimes jab at Koa with his little claws if he dared face away from the sunlight. It was painless, but it was still worrying behavior for Koa. He had noticed that the Fomantis, which he named Rythix, was rather abrasive and grumpy most of the time, particularly when it came to getting his sunlight and food. "Rythix if you do that again it's back in your Pokeball and then you get no sun." he said in a raised tone of voice to get the point across. Rythix only bristled angrily at the threat, but reluctantly downgraded the jabs into light nudges "That's better." Koa said. Azura was close behind and happily splashed into the water whenever they passed it. She seemed comfortable in the spring water, so Koa decided here would be a good place to rest. He set Rythix down on a sunny patch of grass "There you go, plenty of sun and a nice place to sleep." he said. The Fomantis wouldn't admit its appreciation, simply squeaking a little bit before enjoying the sunlight. To Rythix it was about time. He was owed this time in the sun and was frustrated during the journey since Koa kept moving away from all of the good spots. At least here was nice. Azura happily lounged in the water, eyes closed in relaxation as Koa sat down at the water's edge "Enjoying your swim?" he asked. Azura barked happily back at Koa and blew some bubbles. He chuckled, happy to see her have a good time. The scenery here was incredible and the sound of rushing water was calming. Elysia was quite the fitting name for this place. "We're pretty far from home. To be honest I'm still amazed I've gotten this far. I wouldn't have made it here without your boundless enthusiasm." he said to Azura. She seemed happy to hear the praising tone of his voice. He looked back at Rythix, who was already asleep where Koa had left him. Despite the rough time it was tending to what Rythix needed, Koa honestly liked the Pokemon. He was sure there was an underlying reason for the behavior, even if it was something simple like Rythix being a baby Pokemon. "This place is perfect for you both! Water for you, and plenty of places to rest in the sun for him. Let's stay here for a while." he said. He placed his bag on the ground and relaxed alongside his Pokemon. Azura playfully splashed water towards him and he smiled brightly, splashing some back at her. She was having a great day, though she sometimes looked over at Rythix and worried for her new friend. Despite his bratty attitude she found herself liking the little Grass type and wanted to see him become more friendly. She always got the impression that he was rushing towards something and that kept him from enjoying time with her and Koa. Everett Mercer

ECHOES, SILENCE, PATIENCE & GRACE Now that the house was finally completed, Everett was able to explore more of the Stellara region to his heart's content with his team. It was nice to see areas that they wouldn't normally, and it was also a good opportunity for some good old-fashioned team bonding. Today's stop was Elysia Falls, a place near Hamal Town that was full of natural hot springs and of course, the falls themselves. Once he got close enough, Everett threw out the Poke Balls for his six teammates, who all appeared quickly and set to work on the usual routine. Caesar, Darwin, and Faust stuck close by, while Mango and Bolin went off to either spar with each other or explore the area around them. Everett was never sure which they were actually doing. Wizzy, of course, was still standing in the same place he had been summoned, blissfully unaware of anything that was going on around him. Perhaps this would be a good time for Everett to get to know the Slowpoke a little better. After all, his quiet and dopey demeanor kind of set him apart from the rest of the group. He sat and pondered these things as his team took off on their own activities. tags ✖ notes: sorry, this was all i had in the tank

After Rythix and Azura got settled, Koa thought it was time to give the newest addition to his team some fresh air and opened the Pokeball with Shichika, the Mienfoo he had caught earlier. Shichika stretched and bowed respectfully to his trainer. Koa bowed back and smiled at his new friend before checking his surroundings to make sure no one strayed too far away. After he saw that everyone was accounted for, he sat down by the water and called Azura over. She swam over and rested her flippers on the edge next to Koa, who gently pat her head "Heya, enjoying your swim? Meet our new friend." he gestured to Shichika. Azura was in her Pokeball when he captured Shichika, so they hadn't had a chance to meet yet, so now seemed like the perfect time. Azura beamed happily at him ("It's really nice to meet you! I'm Azura. I hope you're having fun with us, even if you've only been here a little while.") she said, friendly as always. Shichika seemed a little nervous and a blush crossed his features ("O-oh, yes...yes, it's nice to meet you as well. I am Shichika...") he turned around and began going over his stances. It was clear he was smitten, though Azura didn't really take notice, only happy that he was having a good time. Meanwhile, Koa was looking over his bag to see what he could prepare for everyone since they were taking a break here. "Pokemon food...some rations for myself...I should buy or find some berries..." he took out a little washcloth and a bottle of water. He stood up to walk over to the patch of grass with Rythix, who squeaked a little bit as he thought it was time to go already "No no, don't worry Rythix, it's not time to go yet. You just got a little dusty after that fight with Shichika, so I figured I'd clean you up a bit." he said. He sat down, poured a little bit of water onto the cloth and gently cleaned some dirt and dust off of Rythix's leafs. He wanted to build trust with him, so he made sure to spend extra time to make sure he was taken care of. Rythix looked up at Koa and for once gave him a happy little expression. Koa clasped his hands together, heart warmed by finally seeing Rythix look happy. "You look so happy...I'm glad. I was worried that you didn't like being around us..." he said. Koa sprinkled some water over Rythix to help him grow. Shichika watched the two interact and turned his head to look at Azura, all while still going over various poses and holding them in his typical routine ("Our trainer seems very attached to the Fomantis. When I first saw them together, the Fomantis was rather irritated...did something happen?") he asked. Azura shook her head ("No, nothing happened. Rythix is still really young and wants to grow up really fast. For a while he didn't know how to ask for things nicely. But it looks like he's doing a lot better now! It's really nice to see.") she replied. ("I see. I thought that was the case. Either way it is good to see him mature already. Koa seems to be a caring trainer from what little I've seen.") he said. His ear twitched and he looked out to see a few Pokemon running around. A Heracross and a Rufflet. Azura noticed them as well and called out to Koa, who gently pat Rythix before going to see what was wrong. Rythix went back to relaxing in the sunlight when he stepped away. Once he noticed the two Pokemon together, he began to wonder if they belonged to a nearby trainer. He only had to take a few steps to see a few other Pokemon along with a trainer at another part of the falls. In a friendly gesture, Koa gave his native greeting "Alola! Good to see another trainer in these parts. Are you taking a break here too?"

ECHOES, SILENCE, PATIENCE & GRACE Everett was enjoying his time with his Pokemon as another younger man walked up to him and his Pokemon. He greeted them with the standard greeting of an Alolan, which for some strange reason was just shouting out the region's name and doing a weird wave. Everett never understood that, but the guy seemed nice enough. "Hey there," he greeted back pleasantly. "Yeah, we're just having a short rest here to enjoy the scenery. Came all the way from Shaula Town just to see it."
Everett stood up and dusted himself off. "Name's Everett Mercer. Nice to meetcha!" The Pokemon around him all gave similar greetings in their own special ways. Darwin was even starting to get over his fear of other humans. This guy really didn't give off an aura of malice.
Wizzy, meanwhile, seemed to finally start being aware of his surroundings. He was getting quicker-witted and more aware little by little each day, and Everett wondered how much longer it would be until he could be used in a battle. "(Hello there,)" he said to the approaching party. "(It's a pleasure to meet you.)"
The rest of the team that was in the immediate area all looked at Wizzy in shock. They had never heard him speak before, and even though his tone still felt like the dopey old Slowpoke they knew, his speech felt extremely eloquent. Perhaps there was way more to Wizzy than they originally thought.

Koa scratched the back of his head, wondering if it was a bit strange to greet people like he usually does. Sure it was a clear indication of his origin, but it may also be awkward to those not familiar with it. At least Everett seemed friendly enough "Shaula Town...I haven't been there yet." he mused and tilted his head slightly "I just got here from Alola just a couple of days ago. Arrived at Eridani City and heard great things about this place, so I decided to come here! My Pokemon seem to love it, and I even caught my first one since coming to Stellara. Ah, right, let me introduce them." he said. He beckoned to his Pokemon and Azura hopped out of the water to take her place next to him and Shichika finished his warm ups and stood opposite to Azura. Rythix had fallen asleep, so Koa left him be over there. "The sleepy Fomantis over there is Rythix. Don't disturb him, he gets awfully grumpy. The Popplio is Azura, and the Mienfoo is Shichika." he gestured to all of them as he introduced them. When the Slowpoke, Wizzy, began to speak to them, Azura was the first to approach ("Hi! I'm Azura. It's really nice to meet you too. There are a lot of really fun places here and friends to meet, huh?") she said, just excited to be here. She was the definition of happy and optimistic. ("I can't wait to see more of this place with everyone! Koa already seems a lot happier exploring the world with everybody.")Shichika bowed respectfully ("I am Shichika. The pleasure is mine. I am rather new to my trainer's group but I will do my best for him all the same. You seem very well spoken. How is the world beyond the falls? I've merely spent my life training here and watching the mannerisms of trainers.")Koa watched as the Pokemon began to communicate with one another "I'm really new to this whole trainer business, so I'm just wowed at how much they communicate with each other. I feel they're a lot like us in some ways." he said. He realized he hadn't introduced himself yet "Oh, how embarrassing...I've introduced my Pokemon but I've yet to give you my own name. I'm Koa Leilani. Nice to meet you as well, Everett." he looked back to make sure Rythix was still okay on his own, and he was. "Still trying to figure out what I want to do with this journey...I've got no real battle experience so I don't plan on tackling any gyms yet. What about you?"
