PERSONALITY
Look up the word “easygoing” in the dictionary, and you’ll most likely find a picture of Everett Mercer. He’s probably one of the most laid-back people you will ever meet. It takes a lot to make him angry, and you will definitely recognize when you do.
Everett is a kindhearted individual who will do almost anything for anyone, almost to the point of being a “yes man.” He will always put others before himself, even though it ends up hurting him nine times out of ten. He loves making up strategies for battles he simulates in his head. Some of these strategies end up coming in handy in the field with his Pokemon.
Though he's a calmer personality, Everett does tend to have a bit of a wild streak. The huge Braviary tattoo on his back was earned completely on impulse. He's also kind of scrappy, not shying away from battles and fights.
Socially, Everett is a bit of a split personality depending on the day. He is very kind and personable to people on most days, but he can also be quiet and reserved. He tends to be more outgoing with a person the longer he spends time with them. Everett also tends to be a closed book. It's hard to really know how he's feeling on a normal occasion. Some parts of his personality are only known to his Pokemon, and some people on rare occasion behind closed doors.
BACKGROUND
Everett Mercer hails from the Unova region. He was born in Accumula Town and spent the early parts of his life there until his family pulled up roots and moved to Castelia City so Everett could go to a nice school in the city.
Once he reached the age of ten, all of Everett’s friends began to receive their first Pokemon and left school to go on their journey. Year by year, the numbers of his class dwindled, going from hundreds of students to just seventy in his graduating class, and Everett wondered all the while why he wasn't allowed to get a Pokemon of his very own. Once he became an adult, his desire to become a Pokemon Trainer increased. He set off north of Castelia City, but didn’t get very far before being attacked by wild Pokemon. Luckily, he was saved by a passerby Trainer, Marshal of the Unova Elite Four. He had a chat with the Fighting type master, who told him that it wasn’t too late to follow his dream, but that perhaps he should look elsewhere.
Knowing that the League in Unova was geared towards people younger than him, Everett moved to the Stellara Region and got his first Pokemon, a Bulbasaur he named Caesar. Currently, Everett has just recently left Eridani City with Caesar and plans to put a strong team together to start his Gym challenge. Should that not work, he plans to join a research lab and help others on their journeys, since he has the education to do so.

PERSONALITY — Caesar takes after his Trainer quite a bit. He’s a rather docile and calm-natured Pokemon, usually avoiding conflict that doesn’t involve him or Everett. That doesn’t mean that he’s weak, however. Caesar is able to hold his own in a fight. He also functions as a caretaker of sorts for the rest of the team, who all hold him in high regard. He’s loyal to a fault, not hesitating to do anything for the benefit of Everett or the rest of the team. If anyone should bring harm to his family, Caesar will fly into a rage and not rest until the threat is contained.
