Homesickness [CAPTURE THREAD]

Eh. Not what he was looking for at all. It was as simple as that; there was only one line of fairy types he really cared for, and it was not the Spritzee line.

A dragon slaying bug would have been a nice addition to his team; he was within cycling distance of Shaula, after all. Even if he couldn't admit he wanted to return home because he missed his parents, he could always do so in order to challenge the Shaula Town's Dragon Gym Leader.

He shook his head at the thought. No, that would be boring, wouldn't it? The old man would probably take it easy on him. His team wasn't all that and he didn't have a single badge to his name. It would be a boring battle for the old man, even it proved challenging to Doug.

No, he would challenge the old man when he was certain he could force the Old man to fight for real. For now, he would just catch himself something and make his way to the next city over. His preparations for his first gym challenge were nearly done.

Oh lord, that was just boring. Did anyone even bother training stuff like Sentret these days? Maybe little children.

No, not little children like him; little-er. Shut up.

Sighing, he turned away from the pokemon, which hadn't even noticed him. 

He dearly hoped his nostalgic trip through the forest didn't end in him leaving with nothing new in his net balls; he didn't need frustration to mar what was supposed to be a calming experience.

He needed someone to keep him company. His digits glid over the surface of the capturing devices on his belt as he considered which of his many pokemon to bring out.

Hmm. It had been a while since he and his best girl had a heart to heart... 

A few seconds later, a sleepy Larvesta found herself looking up at her trainer, blinking slowly at him. Doug cooed softly. He didn't know why she seemed so tired; he hadn't trained his pokemon recently and he had thought they had slept well.

Apparently not.

The Bug Catcher decided to let her rest, taking a sit against the bark of a large tree and hugging the Larvesta close to him, letting her rest her eyes while he rested the back of his head against the bark.

Passing on the... Squirrel thing?

Today was just not his day, was it?

"Ugh." Was the only thing the boy could muster as a reaction as he looked up from where he laid against the tree, glaring at the Murkrow hard, willing it to go away. If that thing tried to make a meal out of his sleeping Larvesta he would punt it into the damn stratosphere.

Thankfully, the bird pokemon seemed to take the hint, flying away before the boy started throwing stuff around it.

Douglas went back to relaxing only once he was sure the bird had truly gone away, leaving him to pet his Larvesta's fur gently while throwing more lazy looks around the area.

Maybe he should just return another day. He hadn't seen a single bug type that day; bit shocking, considering how numerous colonies were supposed to be, but whatever. It was just his luck that this would happen.

If he didn't find something worthwhile next, he would just go back to the city.

Hoo boy, how had this happened?

He supposed he should have known better than to approach the tiny Sewaddle while it was on its own. Or rather, while it looked like it was on its own. The moment he had gotten too close, a Leavanny, clearly its mother, had marched out of her nest and promptly glared the boy down.

Now he found himself playing dress up with the tiny Sewaddle, her mother cheerily wrapping the rest of her eggs in warm leaves in the background, making sure he didn't try anything as her little angel had a grand ol' time.

He supposed it wasn't all that bad. He had gotten a pretty nifty... leaf wristband out of it? Tugging at it experimentally, he had to wonder how in the world had the tiny pokemon managed to make it so resistant. He could see some of her silk in it, though he was probably not intended to. She was still learning obviously, though from the way she proudly looked up at him, she was clearly expecting a shower of praises.

Giving it yet another tug, he had grin. Bit rough, but hey, it was pretty to look at and didn't tear easy. Good enough for a first try! 

"Hey, that's pretty good. Got anything else?" He asked. Sewaddle brightened, prancing up to him and latching onto his ankle, examining it briefly before beginning to work once again. 

He relaxed as he watched her work, leaning back on his arms as she made an ankle leaf-bracelet around his, well... ankle. As she worked, her mother slowly approached the two, taking a sit by the lad before looking at him.

He glanced at her curiously, wondering if play time was over. Sewaddle seemed a tad too focused on her work to notice.

After a few minutes of silent work and peace, the mother stood up and walked to her child, kneeling cross from her and taking her into her arms. Sewaddle looked at her mother in confusion until she pressed her forehead gently against the tiny pokemon's own, nuzzling her lovingly before gently setting her down.

The mother stood and bowed lightly at the boy, as if in request. Doug blinked in confusion for a second, before smiling. He then stood, and bowed back.

Personality
Sewaddle is a fashion diva. Though she's yet young and hasn't evolved into a Leavanny, she adamantly refuses to wear anything she hasn't made herself, and often likes to play dress up with Doug and the rest of the team.

As far as mannerism goes, she is extremely similar to her trainer, possessing an impressive ego to go with her need for glamour and pizazz. She's sassy and doesn't take lip from anyone, being quite adept at tongue lashing whoever gets on her nerves.

Though she's one of the more recent additions to the team, she acts as something of a leader among Doug's pokemon. With her strong character and assertive demeanor, few of the other's ever bother calling her out on it; that is, if they minded.

You see, Sewaddle is well on her way to becoming a den mother, possessing overprotective tendencies and taking personal offense to any slight that may come upon any member of her glamour troope. She tends to be the first to offer moral support to any members feeling distressed.
