About the Eridani City Gym
When you ask the counter about challenging the gym, they'll lead you to a door near the back of the lobby. Once you enter into it, the atmosphere changes almost immediately. The room is rather dark, and the only things that's illuminating your path are the edges of the wall that are lined with some kind of glow in the dark essence and a strange, glowing circle that you can step on. It seems that you're in some kind of maze. Which way is the way out?
Requirements and Restrictions
- Must have at least three Pokemon to battle for all Tiers- Mega-Evolution and Z-Moves are allowed starting Tier 4 onwards
- Items are allowed with restrictions (see mechanics for more)
Mechanics of the Warp Room
The battle rooms have been scrapped for something favorably less stressful on the gym and more stressful on the challenger. Challengers start with a single warp pad in front of them, but it becomes increasingly complex and numerous in number the more they teleport around the pads. Thankfully, these do not make you spin unnecessarily, so challengers shouldn't get dizzy stepping onto these short-ranged warps. It is assumed that the maze changes per challenger, so each person can write their own post on how the person works around in the maze. If the post does not feel like it's good for the gym leader (or if the challenger requests it personally?), then a trainer steps in and they enter into a one-on-one battle (hi Lucas). But there is always a maximum of one trainer battle before facing the leader. With this in mind, Pokemon are no longer healed before fighting the Gym leader, but they are open to picking another Pokemon from the one they used in the battle against an NPC.Note: you can only make a single post about your trainer exploring the maze before it is judged whether it'll be straight to Leader or NPC Battle.
Mechanics of the NPC Battle
Lucas is now on the beck and call for Eridani's stand-in trainer, which is okay because money is good.- As mentioned earlier, it's a 1v1 battle. The Pokemon used here may opt not to be used against the Gym battle, but this Pokemon won't be healed.
- Lucas is randomly given a Psychic type Pokemon. All stats will be generated on the battle itself.
- The Pokemon's level will be an average of the opponent's team levels.
- Both parties are not allowed to use items on their Pokemon.
- Both parties are not allowed to switch their Pokemon once the battle starts.
After defeating Lucas, the trainer is immediately escorted to where the main battle will be!
Mechanics of the Gym Battle
Arthur's battles are in a generic 3v3 styled battle, where both parties are free to switch Pokemon in between battles (until a maximum of three Pokemon have entered in the battlefield), but the challenger is the only one allowed to use items (maximum of three). Nevertheless, Arthur's Pokemon may be holding something up their proverbial sleeve. The challenge ends when the one side has no Pokemon left to fight with.Rewards
Beating the Gym leader entitles you to...
40 PD + TM 29 (Psychic)
[This is separated from the grading award for the thread]
Upon defeat...
You must wait two OOC weeks before challenging the gym leader again.
Fighting the Gym leader after losing allows you to skip the maze and directly fight Arthur on a 3v3 match.

The Z-Crystal in the lower tiers is assigned only when the gym leader picks his Pokemon. The Mega Stone, on the other hand, is set to its respective Pokemon. Mega stones will only be used if the challenger has access to Mega evolution and plans to use it for the battle. As such, Arthur may opt not to Mega evolve for the sake of an equal playing field. The same is applicable to Z-Moves.
