MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. "...oh." a joke? It didn't sound like one, and now that fact was put into light, he felt ashamed and frustrated. He must've looked really stupid to this other trainer, but at the same time he was not joking about having a standard. All of his Pokemon had to be at this certain threshold to withstand his training, so to say that he wasn't desperate was the truth. Still, it seemed fruitless to describe his regiments to him, since he seemed not to care for it or his standards. Humph. He tried to drown out that annoyance with the vanilla bean smoothie that was eventually served to them. Woobat couldn't contain her excitement as she started to messily slurp the strawberry shortcake smoothie, filled with bits of cake. Arthur had never tried the Enigma Berry one, and frankly he would rather not spend money on something that potentially tasted awful. The reviews seemed to differ per person--some loved it, some found it underwhelming, others hated it, the answers were as numerous as how many Pokemon species there were. Anyway, he made sure to pick one of the tables with four chairs so that their Pokemon could have their own space to enjoy the shakes. He supposed he could try to make some more conversation for a bit longer, "So what do you plan to do after this?" he asked the other man once he got to sit with them. For Arthur, he was just planning on going back home and spend some time relaxing. He had enough social interactions for the day and couldn't wait to hole himself up somewhere for the mean time.

Paying little to no attention to the other guy, Roland was intently analyzing the most enigmatic drink in front of him, the drink having managed to grow even more enigmous now that it was there. While the liquid itself was almost pitch black, looking into the glass from above, you could clearly see a white question mark adorning the surface of the smoothie. Tilting and mixing the contents of the glass, the question mark wouldn't deviate in the slightest from its current form. It was unquestionably weird in just about every sense of the word, so he naturally had to drink it. The taste was undoubtedly weird, not bad, just weird. The chef back home had once told him that there was techincally only 5 flavours in the world. Well, whoever decided that had not tasted this berry. Roland couldn't decide what it tasted like. It wasn't sweet, it wasn't spicy, it wasn't bitter, it wasn't salty, it wasn't sour, but it tasted like... something? It didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste like anything else, quite literally. Roswell had no complaints in particular, a fresh Oran Berry smoothie was enough to satisfy most people and pokémon. Very much enthralled by the smooth drink, he'd emptied his glass quickly enough. That's when Roland decided to try something. Grabbing Roswell's empty cup, he poured some of his own Enigma Berry smoothie into the empty glass. The result was the same as before, what little fluid he'd poured into the cup had formed a question mark, just like before. Seeing this for the first time, Roswell was also wondering how such a thing was even remotely possible. Realising that he'd left the guy wanting for an answer to his question since Roland grew curious about his smoothie, he finally turned towards him to answer. "Oh I don't know... travel? Train? Catch? Just your average trainer stuff, really." Saying it out loud like that, he couldn't help but smile knowing he was free to do whatever he wanted now. MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. Since the other guy didn't answer Arthur's question immediately, he also became curious on what was capturing his interest: the enigma berry smoothie. It was indeed quite strange, as he had never seen it before in real life, and he had always assumed that the question mark was just photoshopped into the smoothie. How the baristas were able to accomplish this, he had no clue. It seemed to defy all sorts of physics and logic, even if Pokemon had a tendency to break such laws with their moves. Woobat was glad though that her fellow Pokemon clearly enjoyed the drink. "(See, I told you that smoothies are good!)" she squeaked, feeling rather proud of herself that she introduced someone to the world of smoothies. Again, who doesn't love smoothies? People and Pokemon who didn't like smoothies were weird. She didn't drink it as quickly as the Eglyem did though since it had small chunks of cake in it. Every now and then she was chewing the yummy bits, clearly content. Arthur was in no particular rush either, but he underestimated how thirsty he felt and noticed that he was already almost going towards the half-way mark. Finally, after the Eglyem finished his own drink, he got the answer to his question. Not that he was being super impatient about it; he supposed he could understand that the mysteriousness of the Enigma shake was rapturing. "I suppose that sounds about right." he responded, even if it sounded very directionless. Well, some people were rather short-sighted that way. In a way he was like that too; he had no idea what he planned to do for the far future. All he did now was just living day by day, doing his duties and whatnot. It was then his phone started to ring a tune (something along the lines of a video game OST, it sounded like), but it didn't last too long as he picked it up rather immediately. "Excuse me for a moment." he muttered as he stood up from the table and stepped outside the shop. "Arthur speaking." it was his father's secretary, which the young man could already guess that this was some kind of errand that his father was too busy to attend to. Sigh, well, he supposed it has been a while, but he didn't like the fact that he had to go there today. He already had enough social interactions for today. Oh, wait, he just had to do a maintenance check. Ugh, fine. Should he be thankful that his father hadn't forgotten about him yet? The car was going to pick him up in front of the main building, so he should hurry along before he received another call. Going back into the establishment, he called Woobat and picked up his drink. "Apologies, but it seems that I've been summoned to attend to some urgent matters. It was a pleasure chatting with you." he said rather quickly and little feeling since he was in a rush. "(Aww we're going already?)" she whined, but let Arthur pick up her drink as she flew to his shoulder. "(Okay, bye bye then!)" she waved with her wing at the two before leaving the shop. Arthur then quickened his pace towards the Wright building. You know, Woobat suddenly thought telepathically, I don't think we ever asked for their names. ...oh, I suppose we didn't. Arthur replied quietly, but that was of little importance now.
