A tiny, red and black bird emerged from the grass, strolling forward like it owned the entire forest. Its wide eyes fell on the girl, as it puffed up its feathers and chirped loudly. Flipping out the Pokedex to confirm what she already knew, the girl realized she was facing a Pikipek.
And it appears to be a proud little thing, what with the way its puffing up its tiny chest. Reaching towards her side, the girl grasped the red and white orb hanging by her side. Hitting the button in the center and tossing the ball into the air, with a blue flash of light her tiny companion Munchlax appeared. Tubby landed on her feet across from the smaller bird; though both Pokemon were tiny compared to her, Tubby towered over the bird. But the Pikipek didn't show any fear, instead looking up at the much larger opponent with defiance.
“Tubby, use Tackle!” Evangeline shouted, urging the tiny Munchlax forward. The blue Munchlax ran forward, slamming into the Pikipek and sending it flying back towards the grass. Righting itself midair with a flick of its wings, the Pikipek landed on its feet. Shooting forward, the tiny bird slammed its beak with blurring force into the center of Tubby's stomach. The Munchlax really didn't like that, stumbling back and falling into a seated position.
Time to take a gamble. Running forward, the girl swept the Pokeball off the ground. Tossing it forward, she returned Tubby to her ball. The bird looked confused, as the girl stopped her dash two feet in front of it. The passenger in her hat teetered forward, before falling out. Catching Tiny in her hands and thrusting the tiny Pokemon forward, the trainer waited in silence as the two Pokemon stared at one another. The tiny Togepi waggled its arms and chirped, before sending out a blast of wind that sent the girl flying backwards onto the path. The Togepi slipped from her hands and slammed into her chest. Choking back a cough, the short girl grabbed her fallen hat and rose to her feet shakily.
That was probably Aeroblast; Metronome is a dangerous move I should be way more careful with. How's our little hero faring?
The tiny Pikipek, despite all odds, was still standing, feathers disheveled by the sudden, powerful blast of wind. Its gaze still retained its shine, though she could tell it was barely conscious. Reaching into her bag, the girl grasped an unused Pokeball and drew it out. As if the bird could detect her intentions, it began pulling away from her. Stepping forward, the girl threw the ball. The bird took off, but she had calculated that before throwing. The ball cracked open, catching the Pokemon in its blue light before closing again. The ball rolled to the ground, shaking once, twice, thrice, before ceasing to move entirely. Stepping forward slowly, the girl picked up the ball and stared at the red orb.
Robbing animals of their freedom to further increase my strength...it sounds so wrong when I think about it in that light. Don't worry, Red Baron. I'll use your pride and strength in a way that'll make you happy. I promise that
Sliding the Pokeball into the neat carrier she had next to Munchlax, the girl turned back towards the path. She'd need to heal Tubby and Red Baron before she could start training them. She glanced down and realized she could use a bath as well, after getting launched into the dirt by Tiny.
Of course, the only individual unscathed and rather happy about their situation is you, Tiny. Lucky for you I'm a happy person, or there would be major issues in our relationship. Let's head back to Vega. Kneeling down, the girl scooped her tiny companion off the ground and planted her back into the large straw hat she wore. Smiling despite herself, the girl headed back towards the beaten dirt path.
CAPTURE COMPLETE!
Red Baron - Male Pikipek
Level 5
Ability - Skill Link
Personality - Red Baron is a proud Pikipek, holding his head high and standing firm
against Pokemon twice his own height. His own headstrong nature is capable of causing
trouble for his trainer, choosing to fight beyond his own strength to achieve victory regardless
of pain or injury. Once the trainer has earned his trust, the Pikipek will follow them through
hell or high-water, fighting under their command against unsurmountable odds. He
will get embarrassed through pampering, and would rather a few words of
praise than constant encouragement. Despite his proud behavior, he is willing to use
underhanded tactics to win battles with larger Pokemon. In this Pikipek's proud eyes,
a victory is a victory, regardless of the means used to achieve it.
