Emotions were at a sparking point. Sol was shouting, Vincent was shouting, their Pokemon were trying their damnedest! This was the kind of battle he was looking for, the kind of thing Sol had spent long nights conjuring up in his head!
But now they were at their breaking point as well, and something had to give.
Once again, as Fae rushed forth, she ran forward into a hail of fiery projectiles, hellbent on burning her. As each pellet collided with her body, she winced and shuddered with pain, but persevered until the very end, delivering her final Tackle to the hellcat, and with rousing success, rendering the Litten unable to battle.
But as Fae lost her momentum, she buckled as well and collapsed a mere moment after delivering the final blow to the Litten. Fae, battered and bruised, took a knee. For a brief moment, their spirits flashed together and each felt the other's mind once again. Satisfaction, he noted, but under a healthy dosage of pain. Sol Chance winced as their hearts formed a union, her own pain temporarily becoming his and he immediately severed the connection. His strange ability was useful, but not when it acted like this.
"Fae, return," he said simply, holding the red and white Pokeball up. In a flash of crimson light, the Eevee gratefully returned to her ball as data and began to rest. But things weren't over.
The giant lumbered over to him, hand extended for a handshake, the mark of respect.
Sol left him hanging, ignoring the handshake entirely.
"Thanks," he said, "it was good practice. It certainly made the shortcomings in our strategy plain. We'll have to go back to the drawing board-"
Sol paused and squinted at Vincent.
"And yeah," he muttered, "I guess you guys were okay, too."
