I HOPE THAT YOU BURN Emilia was bored. That was the only way to put it. She'd spent the entire day sending bright-eyed trainers home in tears. She had been relentless in every single battle, and her team obliterated the competition. If she wasn't such a sore loser, she would long for someone to come along and beat her. As it stood, there had been no such challenger. Even Slithers was getting restless and had taken to burning holes in her bedding or lighting random objects on fire. Emilia could sympathize with her partner's agitation. She wanted nothing more to for someone to at least put up a fight. The gym leader trudged through the snowy terrain of Nair City, leaving her gym for a short while to take a break. Being underground for so long wasn't good for the mind, and she inhaled the frigid air deeply, letting it fill her lungs. She had grown up in the icy environment and had long grown used to it, but, looking down, she saw that the same could not be said of her Salandit. The lizard tip-toed through the snow, hating the feeling of ice under her claws. Emilia smirked in amusement, watching the comical display. Slithers didn't look nearly as happy, glaring up at her trainer and spitting little embers into the snow. "You can be mad at me all you want," Emilia said gently, "but you'll have to get used to it sooner or later." The woman led her Pokemon to a small, brightly lit cafe. She could practically feel the warmth emanating from inside. She walked in, holding the door open for Slithers, who shook herself off as soon as she crossed the threshold. Emilia walked over to the bar and ordered a hot coffee. Within a few minutes, the drink was in her hands and she was seated at a table, sipping on her coffee. Slithers curled up at her feet, black eyes trained on the door to watch passersby enter and exit.

COFFEE RUN
Feet crunching through the icy snow, Vincent wove the scarf around his neck tightly to try and escape the chill, meanwhile, his Litten meowed in discomfort as he pawed alongside his trainer, the icy powder seeming to be cutting at the pads of his paws with how cold it was. "I know, I know. But you were the one that wanted to be out of his Pokeball." Vincent shoot a look down at Cinder, earning an annoyed glare in return.
"Just a little longer, we're almost there." He said, referring to the Cafe not too far away from them if anything Litten seemed to forget about his displeasure and redoubled his pace to enter the warm and cozy building. The door opened, a small jingle accompanying the entrance of the Litten and his Trainer inside the Cafe. Once inside, Cinder shook the snowflakes out of his fur, hissing at how damp his pelt felt but thanks to the warm of the building and being a Fire Type, his fur was quickly drying as a result.
Ignoring his overdramatic Pokemon, Vincent headed for the bar, ordering hot coffee like almost everyone else in this place did with this kind of weather. Hot cup in hand, he looked around and felt a bead of sweat travel down the side of his face at how packed the place seemed to be, the only spaces were in a corner where a group of shady looking individual was grouped up, which no thanks he had enough problems already with people thinking he was some sort of drug dealer, and the other was across a firey-redhead looking woman and her Salandit beneath the table.
Shrugging his shoulders, he approached the woman and smiled a disarming smile at her. "Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" He asked politely, Cinder by his side and giving a curious look at the Salandit alongside a sympathetic look. (This weather, eh?) TAGS: Emilia Chevalier OOC NOTES

I HOPE THAT YOU BURN Emilia held her drink in her hands, letting it warm her fingers through the thin styrofoam. She gently nudged Slithers with her shoe, stroking the lizard's scaly body. She took another swig of her drink, peering over the rim to keep an eye on the bodies flooding the cafe. Her head turned slightly as she heard the merry jingle of the bell above the door, signaling someone's arrival. She took quick stock of the young man and his Litten, nodding slightly in approval at the fire-type Pokemon. She watched the man and his partner curiously as they approached her. She wasn't particularly interested in sharing her table, but the cafe was crowded with people and Pokemon, so when he asked, she gave a slight nod. "Go ahead," she said, scooting her chair slightly to make room. "What brings you to Nair City?" she asked, taking another sip of her drink. At this rate, she would have to order another one. She also hated small talk, but she hated awkward silences more. She was the gym leader, after all. She supposed she was supposed to make newcomers feel welcome in her city or whatever. Slithers didn't seem to mind the intrusion. She sniffed at the Litten as it approached, her tail wagging slightly. ("It could be worse,") she said, looking out at the snow-covered ground outside the cafe. ("We could still be out there.") Truth be told, Slithers wished they were still at the gym, where it was always warm and dimly lit. The brightness of the outside world was annoying, and the snow even more so. The pageantry of the gym leader lifestyle was something that both Emilia and Slithers despised, but they dealt with it as gracefully as possible. The gym leader drummed her fingers on the table and watched the snow fall outside. Her eyes flitted back to her conversation partner and she realized she hadn't bothered to introduce herself. Without any of the grandeur that most gym leaders used for introductions -- that sort of flair was hardly her style -- she said casually, still looking at her coffee cup, "I'm Emilia. Emilia Chevalier. Gym leader of this wasteland."

COFFEE RUN
"Thank you," He accepted the offered space gratefully, taking a sip of his coffee as it warmed his hands and slowly his entire body with its warmth now seeping down his throat. Hearing the question, he turned his attention to the lady and shrugged his shoulders. "I had to come here to take care of my injured Elekid.Nurse Joy has been very helpful so far" A frown marred his features next, making his already impressive bitch face look even more stern. "Found him injured in the rain a few days ago, took care of him but he took offense to that." He shrugged his shoulders again, he wasn't bothered by the Elekid's attitude anymore from that night, now if the Elekid could stop challenging his Litten for a rematch all the time it'd be swell.
The Litten shuddered. (Getting snow in your fur is almost as worse as getting your hide wet.) He said, shaking his head from those thoughts as he got more comfortable close to his trainer's feet.
The voice of the lady he was sharing the table with brought him back from his musing, the tall male looking up and giving her his full attention. "Vincent Valentine; Pokemon Trainer and also a Breeder." He nodded at her in acknowledgment but didn't react further than that at her admission of being a Gym Leader besides saying. "I'll have to stop by your gym one day in my quest to challenge the League." He lifted his half-empty cup of coffee. "But not now when I'm trying to enjoy myself. Besides, I'm not ready yet to challenge a Gym."
'But we will be soon, eh buddy?' He thought to himself, looking down at his Litten, locking eyes with the Fire Cat Pokemon as both seemed to come to some sort of agreement before they looked away.

I HOPE THAT YOU BURN The gym leader nodded understandingly over her cup, eyeing the trainer. She didn't pry into his Elekid's condition, as any number of things could have led to his Pokemon's needing to see Nurse Joy. She smiled a bit. "Nurse Joy is quite the talented healer. Your Elekid will be back to normal in no time," she reassured. There had been many an instance in her childhood, while she was mercilessly being prepared to take over as gym leader, that she had turned to Nurse Joy to heal her team. Slithers looked up at the trainers talking, staring at them with narrowed eyes for a few short moments before growing bored of their meaningless conversation and laying her head back on her feet. ("At least it dries quickly. I would hate to be a water-type out in this mess,") she said, snickering. She had actually seen a few enter and exit the cafe since they had been there, and none of them looked too happy to be out in the cold. Well, better them than her. Emilia nodded again. "The Pokemon journey should be about enjoying yourself," she said thoughtfully, swirling the contents of her cup around as she stared at them. "It's important to connect with your Pokemon a develop yourself as a person. All this silly league stuff is just another excuse to be the best at nothing." She waved her hand dismissively, looking out the windows of the cafe and at her own gym in the distance. A small chuckle escaped her lips. "Though it is a pity. You look like you would at least be a challenge."
