MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. "(Good job, Master! That battle looked like a piece of cake.)" Swoobat chirped as she hovered near her trainer. The young man only sighed in response, "A bit too easy if you asked me." he grumbled, thinking that the challenger was clearly out of his league and had no idea what he was in for. He almost felt pity for his poor starter Pokemon, who was quaking like a leaf as he let Solosis dish out a powerful Charge Beam. Yeah, that was going to hurt, but he wasn't going to coddle anyone for being unprepared for their first gym battle. It had been a while since he had left the city, when he thought about it. He had a couple more battles in his gym, but none of them were particularly exciting. Come to think of it, he hadn't forked over a badge since that bug boy got there, and he half wondered if he needed to be easier on his challengers since it looked bad that none of his badges were being given out. Well, that wasn't his fault if no one was up to par with his Pokemon. Gothita was getting better at responding to psychic commands, and Solosis and Munna have always been in top form. He'd still need to do some more work with Meditite, but she definitely has potential. Slowpoke, on the other hand...well, he would get there eventually, he hoped. Swoobat wasn't as light as she used to be in her previous form, so she was definitely exercising her wings more (which was honestly what she should've been doing, anyway). She was more comfortable now compared to before, thankfully, soaring around and showing off from time to time, but there wasn't much space to do that in the building. Since the battle just finished, Arthur decided he would retire for a short while in the lobby and grab a drink. He already let his gym Pokemon recover in their Poke Balls and they were probably back at the reserve. His own personal Pokemon, on the other hand, were either in his room or similarly in the park outside of their house. He hadn't seen anyone from family today and he'd rather keep it that way. When he got into the room, he plopped on the couch with a heaved sigh before closing his eyes, resting his head on the backrest. He had let his guard down for the mean time, and wouldn't notice if anyone was approaching him from behind ...

Peri had gotten some free time. Since he had opened his store and had more of a steady income (on top of the trust fund) he didn't feel the need to travel all over the world to model. He was actually thinking of staying in the Stellara Region for a bit, he hadn't been home for some time and he could feel the family drifting apart. Everyone was busy doing one thing or another, Peri actually worried about his mother at sometimes. She didn't have much to entertain her besides throwing parties and occasionally being Dad's arm candy. Though Dad had been taking his other brother to meetings more than mom nowadays. So with all these thoughts he decided to head back to Eridani City and try to repair the family as best he could. His first stop was the Wright Telecommunications Building. He was hoping to see his second oldest brother and check up on him because last time he had seen him their father was being hard on him. However they were in a meeting or perhaps they weren't but the prissy desk clerk wouldn't let him up there. "This is MY family's company, who are YOU to not let me up there?" "I'm sorry sir, I have it on the CEO's authority not to let you up there right now.""You mean my father.""Correct"
Right then Peri heard some crashing noises. "What's that noise? Shouldn't lobbies be quiet?""That's the Gym Leader. He currently has a challenger.""You mean my brother.""Correct" "I'm letting myself up to the viewing deck" Peri finished not even letting the lady respond. He was just getting there when the battle was coming to a close. He didn't think Arthur had noticed him enter because he was still battling intensely. Now Peri was't a battler but he had seen plenty of exhibition matches in his day so he could attest to what a good battle was, and Arthur was destroying this guy. The poor challenger was completely unprepared. After the battle was over Peri started home however when you're walking down the street and see a cute outfit in a window shop you have to stop and talk to the designer, so it took Peri a little longer than usual to get back home. However when he finaly did get home he saw Arthur chilling in his room. He didn't seem to notice Peri approaching. Arthur looked very relaxed and a devious smile crawled across Peri's face. Just then Peri charged in and jumped on on top of Arthur. "WHAT'S UP BIGGEST BRO!?" Peri yelled landing with a thud. Arthur Wright NAME — Nimbus LEVEL — Level 5. MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. Swoobat actually saw Peri first but didn't react immediately. She knew that her trainer's relationship with her brothers was strained, but that didn't mean she was going to block them from trying to mend that bond, even if it was to her trainer's annoyance. So she decided to let Peri surprise Arthur by tackling him and she even giggled a little as she watched the gym leader yelp and then groan in pain. "Augh, Pierre! You're not a child anymore..." he grimaced, mostly referring to how heavy he got. "I suppose you must've been watching the battle since you're here." he then guessed. It wasn't surprising that he was here since...well, he was the one that tailed him to Vega in the first place. It had been some days since then and he figured that the boy wasn't in a hurry to get back to his work. When he got a better look at him, he noticed that he seemed to be better rested compared to when he saw him at the store, but the eyebags were still very much noticeable. Arthur wondered how life must be like actually running a business of his own. He at least didn't need to go through sleepless nights with his job. "Let me throw the question back at you since you still look like you need to catch up on sleep." there was concern there, yes, but he delivered that rather monotonously, as he usually did with his brothers. "Also, can you get off? There's plenty of couch for you to lie on." oh. He just realized that was more like an invitation to stay and chatter rather than to leave quickly. Damn it. Swoobat, on the other hand, looked very much pleased as she continued to munch on her favorite buscuits. "(Oh this is going to be good...)"

"If I'm not a child anymore why did you come check up on me in Vega huh?" Peri shot back teasingly. Peri knew fully well that their mother had asked Arthur to go check up on him and support his store's grand opening. Peri continued to lounge on Arthur as he asked about if Peri witnessed the battle. "Yeah I saw it. No wonder you're successful, I could have crushed that guy and we both know how I am at battling." Peri was being very nonchalant and open about his feelings and just saying the first thing that came to mind not really thinking he would offend his eldest brother but then it slipped out and Peri felt awful afterwards but he kept his face straight. "Probably why father doesn't have an issue with you being a gym leader. As long as the challengers suck you cant bring shame to the family." Peri wondered if he should have laughed it off as a joke but he had paused too long, and it only made it worse that Peri was still draped across Arthur's legs. Saved by the question. "I'm ok, I just don't get much sleep because I'm constantly traveling. You remember how it was. I have been thinking if I want to retire but I'm still young and it would be a shame to stop before my prime." Peri answer Arthur's second question by sitting up and tucking his legs up into the cushions so he was no longer on top of Arthur. "Also that's what makeup is for." Peri added still talking about Arthur's comment on how tired he looked. Peri was absent mindedly picking his nails, he felt there was still an awkward air from what he had said before. Peri knew Arthur was happy and proud in what he did and if anyone insulted Peri's work or honor he would be pissed off too. Arthur Wright

MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. "I told you, mom's orders." he answered flatly, but he could tell that his brother was being playful like he always was. Arthur wondered if Peri could hear his bones creak under his weight, which was obviously an exaggeration but he was much weaker compared to the rest of his family, so maybe it wasn't too big of a leap. It felt warm, though; he vaguely admitted to himself that he missed having physical affection. He let out a small laugh, taking no offense, but his brother looked regretful and tried to take it back...although it wasn't exactly the most graceful way of doing it. The mention of their father usually soured the mood, but he tried not to dwell on it too much. "Sometimes a Gym Leader has to lose for the challenger, but of course that only has to happen even after I've given my best effort." he muttered mostly to himself rather than to Peri. He didn't feel any shame losing to Doug, for example. He now wondered if his father did, even if he couldn't possibly know or care about that particular battle. Did he secretly check how many badges Arthur gave away at the end of the month and judge him for his perceived failures? The psychic failed to hold the thought at bay and he let it color his emotions. He closed his eyes, attempting to calm himself by taking in slow, deep breaths. Arthur decided to focus on his brother's wellbeing. "Retire at sixteen?" he let out a quiet snort, "I think you're qualified for a break, at least." Still, it must be really rough for Peri for him to already be thinking of retiring. At the same time, it also showed how ridiculously wealthy his family was. Retire at the age of sixteen! Most children that age didn't even start working yet and they certainly did not make enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. He actually failed to notice that his youngest brother had makeup on. Arthur never cared for it, but it wasn't like he thought of it as girly or anything. There was a somber silence that fell upon them after that. He had managed to steady his heart from a while ago, but he could tell that they were both aware of the touchy subject earlier. He decided to continue the more recent line of conversation, "If you were going to retire, what would you do? I would imagine that you'd still be traveling anyway." he was idly staring at the ceiling now. Good thing there were no more scheduled battles today. He had no idea how long this talk was going to drag.

Peri thought a lot of his brother's question. What would he do? "I'm not sure. I've traveled all over the world but there's only so much Stellara I've seen. We never got our journeys, maybe that's what I'd do." Peri was nostalgic about the idea. He had always hoped for a family trip like that but it wasn't in the cards for their family. "You know travel the region catch pokemon and train them to be the very best. Challenge gym leaders, win. Become champion." Peri continued a little mockingly. He was describing every 13 year old's dream when they were on their journey but to be honest Peri wasn't into all that. However training he pokemon and snagging a badge from his brother would be a large bragging right. Thinking about his brother and how he would answer the question Peri chimed back. "What would you do?" He always wondered what Arthur's dreams were, it's sad to say but they were never super close. Come to think of it Arthur always seemed like an outsider when it came to family. The feeling started nagging on him. Why was Arthur never there? Peri wondered what was going on in his mind over there. Arthur Wright OOC: sorry for the short post. Just didn't want to move up the plot so fast.

MAYBE IT'D BE FASTER IF THE ONE WHO DISAPPEARED WAS ME. We never got our journeys -- that particular line stuck. He was familiar with the whole shebang, which was what his brother basically described. How would it be like if he had been given the chance to travel around Stellara at the age of thirteen? By then he had already discovered his psychic abilities, but he was nowhere near as competent with them as he was now. He remembered that he used that time travelling around with his father to test them out, so maybe he would've done the same if he had gone on a journey. Maybe he would've been more proficient at it considering that he would've had more freedom to test things out, and maybe he would've even met other Psychics if they existed. Or...at the very least, he could've openly practiced with his Psychic type Pokemon. He didn't dare do it in many parts of this building where there were cameras watching him. He had a complex relationship with this building. It was home and also wasn't, but he couldn't imagine himself living anywhere else. Perhaps he had been too spoiled with the luxuries of life to leave. "What would I do..?" he was still staring at the ceiling rather than the boy beside him; his hands placed on top of one another as they rested on his stomach. "I honestly don't know. Maybe rot in the room." it wasn't said jokingly. He did actually spend much of his time holed up in his private room during those breaks between traveling. Recent days would prove, however, that he wouldn't be able to do that anymore. His Pokemon would complain and even he'd get restless after a while. He heard Swoobat whine and flap her wings in protest at his answer, which was expected. He thought some more. "I guess traveling doesn't sound so bad? I've been doing some of it to a certain extent." he mused aloud. Arthur wasn't sure if he should feel disturbed by his lack of direction. Half-half, he supposed.

Peri saw the gears turning in Arthur's head when he mentioned the fact that they never got their journeys. Peri knew that his oldest brother was going through something personal during that time and perhaps he still was, that's why Arthur isolated himself, Peri just had no idea what it was. Besides maybe their father being a class A prick most of the time. Peri studied Arthur closely as he tried to come up with an idea of what he would have done. Peri was actually a somewhat confused that Arthur didn't have a straight answer, and honestly it was starting to frustrate him. You would think with all the time he had to think by himself he would know what he wanted. Peri thought feeling the heat rise within him. Peri started to purse his lips. He equated his feelings at the moment to a scab someone was picking at. Namely Arthur. Peri tried not to let his upsetness show but his tone started to become a little sharp at Arthur's answer about just staying in his room. "Ha, yeah you sure like your you time." Peri knew that Arthur was being serious in his answer but Peri attempted to play it off like it wasn't that big of a deal. The fact that Arthur was never there definitely dealt damage to their relationship. Peri didn't have that older brother that watched over him or hung out with him and played games. He left Peri alone, a hen in the fox house you could say. Finally the feelings became to much, Peri had to confront Arthur on this. There needed to be water under the bridge and a resolution to their issues. Peri knew it was customary for their family to just sweep issues under the rug or to table them for another time, but Peri was real and he felt like Arthur was too. "You know that you weren't really there for me, right?" Peri said flatly with a little emotion in his voice. He let out a big sigh and copied Arthur's position. Eyes on the ceiling, hands on the stomach. Arthur Wright
