Battle.
"Huh." Uttered the boy eloquently as he saw his cute, make up covered face flash on the screen showing off the 4 contestants that had managed to make it to the battle round of the contest, golden eyes blinking up at the image with disbelief.
Besides him, Ledyba cried out in excitement, pumping his fists and swooping up Dewpider into a hug, the tiny arachnid protesting (rather weakly) at the flying bugs excited touch.
He hadn't actually expected to make it past the first round; he thought he had done his part and could now just enjoy the show while the real pros took the stage.
A spot light suddenly flashed onto his exposed frame, causing the audience to go wild. He knew they weren't crying out for him; the hype over the battle round was getting to everyone, and the spectators were all too willing to show it.
"Well shit. No backing out now." He muttered to himself, reaching for the brim of his had and tipping it while smirking, the action displayed on the massive screen causing the crowd to scream even louder.
Well, the show had to go on.
Silently, the boy began to approach his designated battlefield, looking from across the field at his opponent before nodding up at Dewpider and Ledyba, coming to a stop at the very end of the field.

Showtime." He said as he dragged his gloved fingers over the brim of his hat, before swinging his hand out towards the air, single finger pointing skyward.
It was a simple cue for Ledyba to get on the stage, but Ledyba wasn't about to allow even a single action from their team to be taken without flaunt in spades.
The flying bug leapt in the air without warning, blasting at high speed towards a screen of energy that had suddenly popped high in the air before punching straight through it, the cracking of the light screen echoing across the stadium and silencing the crowd with its suddenness.
Tiny, shattered bits of shining crystals floated down to the fieldas the bug slowly hovered down, fist still stretched skyward in a champion's pose, (over) confidence oozing out of the pokemon's every inch as he stared down his opponent across the field..
