OOC Name: Ram Character Name: Edrian Power Class Desired: Joltik Morph
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development? Imagine someone with the abilities of a spider, with a shocking twist. Climbing walls, spinning electrified webs, incredible durability, and everything else that comes with it. Now take this person, and picture them as a top-notch agent in the region's most notorious criminal organization. That's not Edrian, that boy couldn't walk properly for the majority of his toddler years. Now his mother was everything described earlier. Edrian is a hyper teenager with bug legs. Sure he can climb a tree pretty well, has his own electroweb, and will probably leave you deaf for a while after a nasty screech, but he's not exactly agent material. Luckily his mother left that life behind her, choosing to start a family. Of course, her son is a little jealous that his move can not only run without falling on her face every now and then. What really gets the boy thinking would be when he learns what his mom did in the past. Will he go from feeling like a weaker version of his mom, or will he be ashamed of what he is?
Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them. A small boy was running across town, his blonde hair swaying messily behind him. This would be the second time this week he was late for work. As he rushed along the street, he found himself falling flat on his face a couple times, though he was in too much of a hurry to really care about the pain. "Crap! I'm even later than last time," he whined pulling himself from the ground. He then had an idea. He took a Pokeball from his side and released his faithful feathered friend. It was a little Fletchling, only a little bigger than the average red bird. "Fennika! I need you to go to Mr. Webster's and let him know I'm on my way. Can you do that girl?" The small bird didn't say anything, only cocked her head to the side. "The Tailors, boss, I'm late!" he yelled slower. Fennika's gaze shot up when she heard the word Tailer, recognizing it as her trainer's place of work. Without a second thought, she flew off, leaving a lovely tune from her tail feathers. Edrian looked down at his torn shoes a defeated sigh escaping him. "Well, I guess I can slow down a little now," he groaned, the pain of the last fall finally hitting him. So he went from a full spring to a brisk jog, this time staying on his feet much longer. In a few minutes, Edrian reached the tailor, fittingly named "Webster Spinner," with the t e r faded out. When the teen made his way inside, he was relieved to find that his companion did indeed make it to the shop. He was also slightly mortified to find her fluttering around in the clothes racks while a greying Mightyena barked at her to come down. "Oh there you are Ed, I was a little worried when I saw Fennika without you. Thought something might have happened," said an old man standing behind the counter. He was tall, at least compared to Edrian, sporting a close cut ring of grey hair, with a matching mustache, which was messily styled into a handlebar. It was obviously time for him to trim it down some. "Sorry I'm late Mr. Webster, I was in the desert the other day and tripped and must've put a hole in my boot, I didn't really notice it until I was on my way, and tripped," explained Edrian, pointing to the blue cones he had for feet. While the teen recalled what happened, Mr. Webster's face grew increasingly concerned. After a moment of consideration he spoke, After a moment of consideration he spoke, "You tore another pair?" The Joltkid looked down at the floor in shame. "I'm sorry, it's just these feet are so pointy, I try and do anything too rigorous in them and I shred whatever shoes I'm wearing. It's the only time I hate these stupid cones," he huffed, falling back into a nearby chair. Mr. Webster sighed, he didn't mean to make the teen sad but also hated seeing his hard work be destroyed. He then tried to lighten the mood, a sudden thought crossing him. "Why not just take the show off, I've seen you run barefoot just fine." With that Ed went wide-eyed, amazed at his own absent-mindedness. He quickly laughed it off, "I guess I was in too big a hurry to think of that," he giggled. Mr. Webster couldn't help but let out his own chuckle, "I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. To be honest, I'm just glad they're getting used at all, these shoes are kind of a niche market for me. Tell you what, you make it in on time for the rest of the month, I'll make you a new pair." After that, the morph teen shot up. "Thanks Mr. Webster! Come on Fennika let's get to work!" he called, already past the whole stop being late talk. Mr. Webster just shook his head smiling. In the backroom, sat a pair of pants with three leg sleeves, and the beginning of a fourth. His mother's birthday was coming up, and she was constantly complaining how her pants never fit her properly, and the few that did would always make her own spider legs very itchy. So in line with his interest in making clothes, Edrian decided to make his mom a pair of pants, using his own furry legs as a reference. Obviously, the pants were too big on such a small person, but Edrian did have very similar legs to his mother, so much so that it took him a while to find a pair that didn't leave him scratching all day. However, as the teen worked, the lights cut out of him. "Edrian!" called Mr. Webster. "I got it sir!" Ed quickly made his way to the fuse box giving it a quick shock to start it back up. While he was over there, he quickly caught sight of a folder he hid behind a few boxes of supplies. "Target Acquisition." It was the file he found at the abandoned warehouse. He brought it to work one day because he didn't want his mom to find it. He remembered what little he read of it, depicting other people with Pokemon parts like himself doing unspeakable things. He was originally going to shock it into dust, but out of some morbid curiosity couldn't bring himself to do it. He decided he would read one more page after work, for now deciding to stay upbeat as he worked on his mother's birthday present.

OOC Name: Gates Character Name: Roland Gates Power Class Desired: Psychic
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development?
I personally picture Roland Gates as a straight up oddball. Someone that grew up with a quality that set him aside from his peers at a very early stage of his life. Someone that was set aside yet learned to embrace the very same abilities that made people shun him to begin with. Someone very much at peace with themselves, so much at peace that they're quick to dismiss the thoughts and opinions of others in favour of their own. And so it is that I believe that him going on a journey, embracing Pokemon as intellectual equals rather than superpowered pets will allow him to gradually open up to the thoughts and opinions of the many people around him, human and Pokemon alike.
In this: I see the potential beauty of a man able to speak directly into people's minds, yet unable to understand the people around him all the same. It's almost poetic, really.
On a further note, it'll least to say be interesting to RP a Psychic Trainer in the sense that they'll be able to approach problems in a much more different sense than most trainers.
Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them.
It was by every means a rainy day, meaning it rained a lot on this particular day, as simple as that. Roland Gates had thought it common sense that you don't step outside on a raindy day like this if you could help it. He would've been right had he been anywhere in the Stellara Region but Baltis City, and he was wrong.
In this city where rain fell almost constantly, he figured people had just learned to live with it. To an outsider, it might almost seem like the rain was just in their heads after seeing the natives move about like there was positively nothing pouring down on them. Roland found himself wishing he could ignore the rain the way they were doing, if nothing else just to spite the terrible weather itself. For now though, he could only run in hopes of ignoring the rain from within the safe confines of indoors. After turning yet another corner in his pursuit of shelter from the rain, what he saw was quick to stop him in his tracks.
What he saw was perhaps the most heartwrenching thing he'd ever seen. Sitting at the edge of the sidewalk was a small, bluish pokemon that was seemingly just staring sadly into its own reflection. What was perhaps even more outrageous to Roland was how seemingly everyone but himself wouldn't even take notice of the poor thing. While the rain was positively ruining his clothes right now, he simply couldn't bring himself to walking away from any of this. And so it was that he carefully approached the little guy from the side, crouching down next to it as to assure that it would even hear him over the rain from where it was sitting. "You alright little guy?" His words were met with positively no response what so ever. While most people would nudge the little fellow to gain its attention, Roland was smart enough to know that such an approach was far more likely to scare the little guy away than anything else though. Roland simply took a seat right next to the pokemon on the sidewalk and closed his eyes, listening in on the constant dripping of the rain to quickly settle into a calm state of mind most suitable for mentally reaching out to the pokemon.
"Hey! You in there?"
No immediate answer, he considered repeating himself after having waited for a little bit until...
"...H-hello? Who's there?"
Roland couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief followed by a weary smile at finally receiving a response from the little guy.
"The name's Gates, Roland Gates"
"A-are you a human?"
"I'd like to think I am, why?"
"How are you doing that?"
"This?"
"Yeah!"
"I don't know what to tell you, I just... do it"
"A-alright..."
"More importantly... what's with you sitting out here all alone? Are you lost?"
"That's..."
"Hm?"
"...I... I don't know"
"What do you mean...?"
"IT MEANS I DON'T KNOW!"
While that last outburst from the tiny pokemon had certainly caught him slightly off guard, Roland had somehow managed to keep the psychic link stable enough to keep the conversation going.
"F-fine, that can wait! Can I at least get you of the rain before you catch a cold or something?"
"You... want me to come with you?"
"What? You don't want to?"
"N-no... that's not..."
"That's not...?"
"..."
"What's wro-?"
The connection was broken quite abruptly as Roland felt something push at him from the side. He quickly opened his eyes and turned his head to identify the disturbance only to find the very same little fellow, hugging and nuzzling up against his chest almost desperately. Being in direct contact with it like this, he could tell it was shaking. Whether it was out of fear or just the cold, he couldn't say. As handy as telepathy is, he couldn't read minds. Still, he could tell just this once that he'd done right by someone. As happy as that made him, he still couldn't shake the fact that he'd probably be struggling with the worst cold ever after all this.
"...Totally worth it"

OOC Name: Minty
Character Name: Allison Power Class Desired: Aura Guardian
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development? Aura Guardian will be more helpful to her story rather than her development. Her knowledge of aura and such allows her to grow closer to her Pokemon, and try to help other Pokemon as well. In the end, most of what aura guardian will exemplify for her character would be to amp up her motherly fired up nature towards Pokemon, and Pokemon battling. Knowing someone's intentions, she's become more kindhearted through it, and it allows her to be a mentor to others, as well as the feelings of others inciting her to be more fired up along with her Pokemon in battle.
Provide an RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them.
Allison leans against her hiking stick as she feels around the environment which was a mountainous region. She senses them. Pings of Light blues, pastel greens, and bright pinks. Though a few she feels are darkened. some close by. She snaps out of her concentration, and began to move in the opposite direction, ushering her baby Teddiursa with "come on little one, there are some ill-intentioned ones around, we don't want you gettin' hurt by 'em" To which the Teddiursa whines, the marking on its face glowing which signified that there was honey nearby that it wanted.
Too late, she hears rustling in the brush behind her, further up the mountain. In comes big ol' Bouffalant. Oh goodness... She drops her hiking stick using her Aura to prepare herself. [Detect!] The Bouffalant glares at her, and the Teddiursa. They're in its territory. With a roar, and a sharp exhale, it charged right at them both.
Allison used the Aura to extend her response time, and quickly scooped up her teddiursa "Alright come on Hon, we need to get out of here!" She immediately whirled to the right, barely missing the Bouffalants horns as it sped past them down the mountain. Allison contended with the Teddiursa's complaints as it really wanted the honey. "Shhh, shh it's okay we'll get some at home but we have to-!"
And just on cue there came more charging Bouffalants, Oh crud. She turned tail and began running down as fast as she could with the tiny bear in her arms "Woah, Woah, WOAH! Hold on! calm down big guys!" She yelled back in a mild panic as she does her best to outrun them. In the end, she successfully dodged them thanks to her affinity with Aura. Sitting at the base of the mountain she sat against the sheer wall of rock beginning the climb, matted in sweat. "Eugh... I feel gross... well, what I do for my Pokemon..." She repeats an adage that she said consistently meaning the lengths she would go to keep her Pokemon safe. Thank goodness for her affinity with Aura too. That'd've been... REALLY painful if she got thrown off by a tackle.

OOC Name:Curtis
Character Name:Trent Grante
Power Class Desired: Aura Guardian
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development?
Trent is blind, and thus uses his Aura Sense to move along routes, Sometimes relying on his walking stick, but not all the time. He is blind, so the need for his eyes to be closed would not be needed, and he could predict obstacles in the path ahead by his pokemon's aura movement, he sees auras as brightly coloured splotches on a black background. He despises using his walking cane, as he feels as if he is highlighting his own disability, also, the sound scares away wild pokemon and the plastic ball gets stuck in tall grass, often leaving Trent confused and stumbling over stones Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them. Trent walked along the worn road, occasionally, he stopped and furrowed his brow with concentration, reaching out his mind to sense all nearby auras, he felt the essence of Slateford climb over a large object a few steps ahead, and the slow and pulsating Aura of a tree, it's roots spread across the path. He neatly avoided the large rock in his path and carefully stepped over the tree roots in his path,
"Cubone! Cubo!, Cu!"
Slateford called out, as his pokemon's Aura became entangled with the Roots, Trent gave a half smile, as he gently felt his way towards the young Cubone, getting scrapes across his hands and knees in the process, he gently untangled the pokemon and watched as the aura dash away from the roots, and flies at his chest, he let out a gasp, as the unexpected weight of Slateford cannoned full force into his chest, which sent him sprawling to the ground, he winced as he landed on his back.
He looked to where the aura was and raised an eyebrow, he heard an embarrassed groan from the young Cubone, before he smiled and patted him on his head.
"Hey, It's OK, getting stuck is scary, say, wanna go get some Ice-Cream?"
The Cubone stopped it's groaning and let out a yelp of delight, and nuzzled into his owner's chest. Trent let out a small giggle, and then sighed, it looked like he was going to walk blind, perhaps a nearby bug-catcher could help him out, he thought, as he unfolded his walking cane and set off, the plastic ball grinding against the concrete... he hated how it sounded and furrowed his brow, as he heard Slateford's excited yelps ahead.

Trent Grante Okay, a few things. First, you'll have to choose only one of these as new rules are coming that renders all Power Classes incompatible with one another- save for Morphs with the other three classes. Secondly, even if the changes were not coming, these are all low effort applications with little solid reasoning. I invite you to reapply for a single power class and put significantly more effort into the reasoning aspect of each. AllisonApproval! A few grammatical issues that could use tightening up, but I think a Mama Guardian could work well!

OOC Name: Peony Character Name: Arthur Wright Power Class Desired: Psychic How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development?Arthur gradually gained psychic abilities starting from a young age and without warning. Because he had been fed with stories about Team Crux and morphs, he made sure not to tell anyone about it in fear of being labelled as such. First was telepathy, to which he mainly practiced on his Pokemon, but he also experimented with people during his business travels with his father. Frankly, Arthur's ability rules over his whole life and way of battling. He is extremely determined to achieve perfect sync with his Pokemon through thoughts alone, and also does not want to use it on people since it may expose his vulnerable side. It will definitely affect how he interacts with other people, and while his abilities made him shut out the rest of the world, it could also be his way back into it if he could find it in himself to allow it. --- Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them.Again, use Ice Punch. The Metagross responded after a delay of two seconds; ice crystals covered its punching arm as it rammed the dummy with all of its might. As expected, it was sent flying to the rest of the battered pile, but Arthur was still discontent. Too slow. That lag could have been the cost of the whole battle. Again, Ice Punch. He made it a point to communicate with his Pokemon telepathically whenever it was battle training. It made sure that they would not be distracted and that they would hear him clearly, but of course, it took much practice and effort. To be able to quiet down all thoughts in order to listen to another was indeed a challenge that not all Pokemon were up for, much less comfortable with. It still needed perfecting for Arthur too--he wasn't going to pretend that he was perfect. That was why there was training, was there not? Metagross was actually his Pokemon that responded the fastest to his commands, more so when Mega Evolved. It was really too bad that only one Pokemon could Mega Evolve per battle, otherwise, he would've started to train Alakazam as well-- (Master, you are wandering.) A steely voice entered his thoughts. "Ah." for a moment he was motionless, realizing that he had spoken. "Apologies, Metagross. Perhaps I am not fit to train today."The Metagross did not say anything in response, but it lowered its head, ready to return to its Poke Ball. Arthur obliged, leaving him in the silence of the training room. He sighed, holding the spherical machine close. He supposed he was not quite prepared to be a Gym leader just yet, since truthfully he felt nervous deep down. Not only would he have to concentrate on the battle, but he would have to make sure he wouldn't get overwhelmed like before. The very first time...was that trainer's way of raising their Pokemon really better? Was his wrong? He shook his head. No, not these thoughts again. Push them down like everything else. They were unnecessary.

Arthur WrightThe RP sample and character reasoning is good, however, I am going to have to ask you to adjust the reasoning for one small thing: psychics cannot read minds. Sadly, it's one of the few things they can't do with their telepathy! Fix that up, and you are set! Okay, approved now!

Trent GranteThis looks better. However, a few things before I can accept this: While you disarm one of aura's weaknesses, you disregard and don't make mention of the other: the need for extreme concentration. While I won't comment on the impracticality of relying on aura when a walking stick or simply allowing for your Pokemon to act as a lead would be simpler and easier, from both an OOC and IC perspective. And yes, I do believe a Cubone, if liking their trainer, would allow itself to be restrained or kept close in some manner as a guide. Also, you need to outline how you plan to use this develop him or how it at least impacts him mentally or emotionally and how it factors into his story and character aside from it sometimes allowing him to walk unaided. In short, more plot and mention the concentration bit. Do these things for me, and I think we have an approval!

OOC Name: Jezerik or Moros Character Name:Ashton Ayredale Power Class Desired:Morph
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development? To be honest, Ashton's general story hook is based around being a Morph, and the animosity it causes with Team Crux alongside the reasonings behind his father's disappearance which is what got him to push toward adventuring as a trainer in the first place.
Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them.
"My Father, the Sylveon."
Ashton laughed, shaking his head as he put the small, handmade book back down. A child's understanding of Morphs, but at least misunderstood and not insulting. His fluffy tail twitched to the side as he turned himself around in the too tight aisle, almost a little too big for the bookstore he'd found himself in. And he'd gone and gotten sidetracked, which was the worse of it. He headed further down through, his feelers reaching out, tracing along the spines of the books as he searched for something specific.
The search wasn't long, and he puffed up in excitement once he found what he was looking for. Cookbooks! He reached out, tugging down a handful of books. Baking, stir-fry, stews. He didn't seem to have any real specific focus, grabbing several different books off of the shelf and stacking them up in his arms. His big ears swiveled around, a wide grin on his face as he searched for a couple final books, tugging them out and down with his extended feelers. A brief turn, and he'd be headed out of the shop after paying, lifting a paw to shield his eyes from the sun, puffy tail swishing excitedly. So much of the day left to go, and he already just want to get home and start cooking!

OOC Name: Cat Character Name: Kari Murphy Power Class Desired: Morph [Espurr]
How will your Power Class contribute to your character’s story and development? My goal for Kari is for her to be the daughter of a Team Crux member and, therefore, an unfortunate victim of their experimentation. She later runs away, stealing one of her father's Pokemon in the process (her starter). This is the catalyst for her development and storyline as she spends her time on the run from Team Crux, building a team to defend herself should Team Crux ever find her. She suffers from a great amount of self-loathing due to what she is and throughout the course of the RP, she will learn to accept and adapt to her Morph nature and use it to her advantage.
Provide a RP sample. It does not have to be long, but it should effectively display your character and how their Power Class ties into them.
It was over. It was finally over. All those long hours of being poked and prodded, being hooked up to machines that hummed obnoxiously while they read her vitals, feeling to horrible pain of appendages growing where none had been prior: it was over. But Kari wasn't out of the woods yet. Her little legs ran as fast as they could carry her, her arms pumping furiously as she ran through the forest. She could hear the voices behind her, calling her name, demanding that she stop and return. But Kari would never return. As long as she could run, she was free.
Kari's newly formed ears perked up, and her blood ran cold as the familiar sound of barking filled the air. The Mightyena had been released. Kari looked left and right, trying to figure out what to do and where to go. She flexed her sharpened claws, her natural inclination being to climb a tree. But then, when the Mightyena finally did find her, she would be cornered. So she just kept running, her sides heaving and her breath coming out in short, sharp gasps.
She could hear the mascots of Team Crux gaining on her, and she felt her body slowing down, all of her energy gone. She pushed herself to go faster, but she could hear the Mightyena crashing through the woods behind her. Inhaling deeply, she whipped around, waiting for the mutts to appear. She could see their black pelts now, slinking through the underbrush, slowing as they approached her. Behind them, she could see her father. "Come on, now, Kitten, let's go home and forget about all this," he cooed. But she could see his hands, signaling the Mightyena into position. "Don't call me that!" Kari cried out. Her cry pulsated through the air, hitting the Mightyena, who flinched, but kept slowly advancing. Her father looked...afraid? Was that the look on his face?
Something clicked in Kari's mind. She had read over some of her father's papers, and, though most of it was gibberish to her, she understood one thing very clearly. She was a Pokemon. Well, half, but it was enough. Mustering the energy within her, she glared at her father and screamed, a wave of psychic energy emanating from her body. The Mightyena stumbled backwards, and that was all the opening Kari needed. She took off again, ignoring her father's shouts. She ran and ran and ran until she could no longer sense the Mightyena. She now stood at the forest's edge, looking into a bustling cityscape. Taking a last glance behind her, she walked into the city, disappearing into the crowd as much as she could.
It was finally over.
