Gozubura was one hundred percent certain he had left that pair of shoes over by the bed, and yet now they were in his chair. His glass of juice had similarly been moved; instead of being at the desk where he had been watching a few videos, it was now close to falling into the waste basket next to the desk itself. On guard, Gozubura moved about towards the pillow to find that the Pokeball he had hidden under there was popped open. Dammit. Hitting the floor, Gozubura army crawled towards the back of the pull-out sofa, dialing a number as he made his way over. This was no time for games. He had a spooky situation that needed fixing, and he knew just who to call to help... who was actually on the same land mass as they were, and could offer some level of assistance. The number dialed, he quickly typed in his message and hit send. raoul come quik need help under attack pkmn center room 203 dying. That text aught to do the trick and get the help he needed as he got behind the sofa, using it as a makeshift fort. As he steadied himself, his glass of pineapple juice tumbled over into the trash, and there was a small chuckle that filled the room.

As soon as Raoul had received the text while he had been browsing around in the shops, he stared at it in alarm for a few moments before he was running towards the pokemon center. This was Gozubura so he wasn't quite sure if this was an exaggeration or not since the guy sometimes played up minor things and also sometimes played down major things.
Still, there were no sounds of breaking things, screaming people, overwhelmingly angry aura, or stacks of smoke from any of the windows from the facade of the pokemon center when he got within viewing distance so he slowed his run just a tad to a more manageable pace.
As he bust the door open, he huffed as he dashed to the reception.
"Where's room 203? I have a friend in trouble." Raoul quickly blurted out.
"Oh dear!" The nurse looked worried. "Do you need help with that? We hadn't heard of any ruckus though from that young man Yamamoto aside from the sound of small things dropping, but that's normal."
"I'll holler or send a signal if I'll need help ma'am." Raoul said hurriedly. "Where is the room?"
"If you say so." The nurse looked dubious. "Go up the stairs to the right and take the first left. Should be the third door down. Be careful young man."
"Thanks! Raoul then quickly ran up the stairs, keeping the instructions to memory the best he could before getting to the door labeled 203 and kicking the door open.
He then stared at Gozubura flatly as he looked around the room. "With a text like that, I expected at least three bruises or gashes on you already. But you clearly look fine. What exactly did you make me come here for that was life or death?"

He peeked over to see Raoul, clearly not in a rush to help now that the door was open and he saw... nothing. Of course he saw nothing! Ghosts could turn invisible, didn't he know that? Hadn't he explained to Raoul about tha- wait, no. He had not. That explained why his friend was woefully unprepared for the blanket on the bed to be tossed at him, although it was an ultimately harmless maneuver. "Ghost! Ghosts! I bought a Pokeball off a guy in town, and it had a ghost in it, and it won't listen to me or stay inside, and now it's haunting me!" He ducked down again as a pillow floated up and got tossed at him, and the chuckle filled the room again. It was going poorly, in his eyes, and he wasn't exactly capable of punching a ghost with his very human hands, nor did he have any ghost-capturing equipment on him. "You've got, like, special senses or eyes or whatever. Can't you see it to punch it out, or talk to it?" He never did get a full grasp on what his two supernatural friends could do, he just knew it was beyond what he could understand and that it was really cool. Raoul in particular had done some things he had only seen in saturday morning cartoons, and hoped it proved as useful here as it had in Kalos.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. The first answer Raoul got wasn't something he was expecting. After all, who was expecting a sudden blanket attack that was from an invisible source...? Raoul's reflexes were still as sharp as they ever were so he managed to catch the damn thing easily at least with a hand, stepping forward as his brows furrowed in irritation.
Then Gozubura mentioned ghosts even as a pillow was thrown his way and then Raoul had to wonder how Gozubura kept getting into these sorts of messes. Seriously, it was like he had bad luck with the type and he wasn't even one of the guys with actual powers within the group.
Still, his powers weren't actually equipped to deal with ghosts. Lord knows he could never actually sense them - thus it had been a challenge to deal with when he had his first ghost pokemon over in Kalos since he couldn't interact and order them the way he usually did. He wasn't sure if Gozubura forgot about that or not, but... he supposed he could give it a try and see if he could bluff the damn thing into the open. If he had to subdue it, he'd be forced to use one of his pokemon but that was an acceptable price to pay, no?
"We'll see what I can do." Raoul absently remarked as he smacked another pillow away and then turned his eyes to where he thought the thing was based on the pillow's trajectory and the... faint smell of vaguely-familiar poison in the room? Faint but there and in the same general direction.
His eyes glowed dangerously as he assumed his most intimidating stance, hands flickering with an ominous amount of power, flaring like bluish-violet flames. "Alright. The jig is up. Show your damned face and stop harassing my friend, or you won't like the consequences. You can smell the scent of death on me, can't you? You'll be next if you don't stop messing around." He threatened in a low voice.

| [googlefont="Euphoria Script:400"] cool  [googlefont="Roboto"][attr="id","tag"] | To his credit, Gozubura thought Raoul seemed pretty cool in that moment, and at least knew his own ass would be kicked by those weird flying kicks and energy shots he could do. Raoul was an enigma in that way, and Gozu figured it was easier to not ask any questions about it. The less he had to scratch his head over auras and psychics, the better. He didn't get to think on it before Raoul started his speech, as a blanket covered him from above. The friendly ghost had a similar line of thought as a pillow was raised into the air mid-threat, but there was no move to launch it. After what seemed to be a successful intimidation check, a Gastly very slowly became material in the room, looking at Raoul through wide eyes. Was it assessing him, sizing him up for more antics, or did he truly believe that Raoul was serious in his threats? He didn't seem like a wimpy trainer like that other guy... The Gastly floated on down to the Pokeball on the bed, hovering over it and waiting for the next move to be made. Gozubura peeked over the sofa, silent before... "Did... did you do it? Did you mind control it or something, man?" He made no motion to stand up or anything, though. Not until he could be sure that everything was going to be safe.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. Slowly but surely, the scent of that familiar poison became more and more evident as the Gastly reappeared into view with wide eyes. If only he could feel its aura - but alas, he can't. However, he was still very well-versed in reading Gastly (and it's line) body language from all the time he spent with 'em over the years and he could tell it was afraid. The Gastly seemed to have a little bit of guts to it and it actually moved forward, eyes glowing and fangs bared. Raoul didn't even flinch as he raised his hand to attempt to shoot it even knowing that it wouldn't actually do a damn thing to a ghost. The two of them stared each other down like it was the beginning of a Orre stand-off, the place eerily silent aside from the two of them staring down. Eventually though, the Gastly inched back and lowered its form. Raoul smirked and pointed at the pokeball with a glowing hand. "Now back inside." The Gastly looked at him for another long moment before its gases enveloped the ball and it was sucked inside with a Click! sound that made Raoul make an almost inaudible sigh of relief. The glow faded from his eyes and hands as he went over to pick the pokeball up before turning to look at Gozubura. "Man, why didn't you check the pokeball you bought before you actually bought it? Didn't you learn anything from all of the shit we accidentally stumbled upon back in Kalos?" Raoul said with a weary sigh. PHARAOH LEAP. [googlefont=Montserrat] |

It was tense for a moment, and Gozubura thought the ghost would try to lash out or do something else spooky, but instead it was now safely in a Pokeball, where it belonged. Climbing over the couch, Gozubura stumbled only lightly as he got his feet underneath him and came over to check it out and see what wisdom Raoul would impart. Ah, no wisdom, just the usual chiding. "Hey! I learned plenty of stuff, like what mushrooms not to eat! I just... figured this was a good deal!" He scratched absently at his arm as he recalled the details of the sale. "He told me it was a previously used Pokeball, and that it might have a prize inside, and to open it when I got home. I figured he meant candy or one of those little sticky slappy hands, not this!" It was no use worrying over that kind of stuff, however. That reputable salesman was likely long gone, or maybe didn't even mean to do such a trick. For all he knew, it was an empty Pokeball, and this was just bad luck. "I don't know what to do with it now, though. I mean, it doesn't like me at all! So far its only listened to you." There was an idea there that Gozubura hadn't quite stumbled across; the prompt for a trade that hadn't crossed his mind. After all, why would Raoul want this ghost, anyways?

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. ...the logic, while typical Gozubura, was very concerning. The fact that the dealer didn't let him check the contents of the pokeball before purchase was even more concerning. Sure a ghost with a pokeball was worth more than just a ball, but that led to all kinds of unknown dangers depending on the personality of the thing. He still had headaches from the times he had to tame some of the pokemon he had 'obtained' from Kalos in Sinnoh - rebellious things.
"You're very lucky that it was just a Gastly and not something actually dangerous like a Banette or an angry Gyarados, man." Raoul pointed out with an exasperated sigh as he scratched the back of his neck
"Also, putting cheap toys in an actual pokeball would sound more like a rip-off than the Gastly, actually, considering that you can just make a cheap fake pokeball for cheaper for that sorta thing. But that's just my thoughts on it." At the very least, he knew that those he knew underground wouldn't waste pokeballs for that - it's a waste of money unless they were fielding defective balls (always a nasty business) or if they're really fleecing people for money via promising pokemon and giving them junk.
At that last point, Raoul looked down at the pokeball and hummed as a thought came to him. He did miss handling ghosts despite knowing that he couldn't sense them....
He looked back up at Gozubura. "How about I take this little bugger off of your hands? I know how to deal with it and it already listens to me." He shrugged. "I'll even trade you something you might like better than this one so that you weren't completely gypped. Even comes with an actual newer pokeball." Raoul smirked a little at that.
"What do you say?"

Gozubura had to be more careful in the future about anything he purchased, picked up, or captured, especially since half the time they were all scattered about in this new place, and he couldn't exactly get himself out of every situation he landed in. "I still have nightmares about Ponyo..." That Gyarados that Oliver had owned was something else, and he could do without seeing it ever again. He nodded along as Raoul explained how he didn't mind taking the Gastly since he had already raised one before - and he remembered that guy fondly, even if he was a bit creepy; at least that Haunter had a better sense of humor than some of Raoul's other beasts. It was the last bit that really caught his attention, bringing a light to his eyes and a change in his posture. "Oh man, a trade? Hell yeah! We've never had a trade between us, I don't think! Whatever it is you caught its sure to be cool! As long as it isn't a ghost, I'll take it! Let's see it, if it can fit on the bed!" Clearing off a space in a less-than-elegant shove, Gozubura pushed all the blankets onto the floor and made a nice empty spot for whatever was inside the cleaner Pokeball...

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. Perfect. Raoul smiled and took out the pokemon in question's pokeball. He was getting a ghost to tame and Gozu... Gozu was getting something that was definitely more his speed by a long shot. Well, he wasn't sure if the pink was, but the cuteness and its tendency to hug and grapple definitely were.
"Don't worry, it'll definitely fit on the bed." Raoul reassured. He hadn't quite encountered anything that would be large enough to take over the bed's space and more... that he could currently catch here in Stellara, nayway.
With that said, he tossed the pokeball over the bed and watched as it opened up and spat out a white light that quickly formed into... a sizable pink and brown bear. Said bear looked confused but she already began to crouch in preparation of giving her trainer a good ol' greeting bear hug.
Raoul quickly raised a hand and she made a curious rumble. "C'mon little lady, this here's your new trainer, Gozubura." The bear's eyes began to get teary and he quickly went on to stop that before it became actually guilt-tripping. "My friend over here is a better grappler than me and actually likes hugs much more. So he can definitely teach you how to wrestle just like you want."
At that, the bear perked up immediately and then moved to promptly bowl Gozubura over in a bear hug. When the bear heard no bones crack or creak from her strong hug, she made an approving growling noise.
The start of a beautiful friendship indeed.

Gozubura tried to make some educated guesses from their previous journey: a steel-type, perhaps, or something with some fighting spirit. Raoul's team had always been at the forefront of combat, and he usually trained with them personally each day. He was sure to get some strong champion in return for such a spooky ghost! What he didn't expect was a teddy bear, of all things. It looked like a toy, aside from the living and breathing thing going on. Gozubura, in fact, let his guard down to give Raoul a very questioning look when suddenly he was on the ground and that kink in his back was gone... in fact, so was all temporary feeling, as he popped something that felt both divine and not so great. With one hand and a gasping breath, he held up his hand for the Pokeball. "She's... perfect!" The breath was almost failing to come out of him as he tried to get the little Stufful to let up on the hug, but it seemed like he might be there for a while, as it had no intention of letting go... which was just fine with Gozubura, who had once frozen outside just to hang out with some Snorunt.

SHARP AS STEEL. STOP FOR NO MAN. YOU'D BETTER BEG AND KNEEL. Raoul bit back a snort when Gozubura actually liked the super strong literal bear hug. In fact, he might've heard something pop but he wasn't sure, and his aura sense wasn't turned on at the moment since he hadn't needed it -moreso for the fact that he couldn't use it on ghosts at all- in order to deal with that mischievous Gastly haunting his friend.
At least Gozu was learning to like the little lady, even if she was still overenthusiastic.
Upon seeing Gozubura gesture for the empty pokeball, he moved over and gave the Stufful's pokeball into Gozubura's waiting hand before moving to nudge the bear. "Hey, ease up on him. Remember about how I told you to go easier on people? Especially when you ninja them with a hug like that?"
The bear turned to him for a moment, doing her equivalent of pouting before she finally eased up on the hug. She then flopped on top of her new trainer with an amused huff, batting the ball playfully with not enough force to remove it from Gozu's hand or even budge it.
"Looks like she likes you already." Raoul observed with a snort as he pocketed the Gastly's pokeball. "Feel free to name her what you want - I hadn't really had the chance to name her yet since I've only had her for a few days. You'll probably figure something out, but please don't name her bearbura or something."
"If you need me, I'll be downstairs in the main pokemon center." He said as he started to leave Gozubura's room.
