The gala was... quite the lively place if you asked her. Not quite the best place to be as far as Veronika Lopes was concerned, but she promised herself that there would be no stone left unturned in her search for her father and the rest of her family. This was some sort of special event, was it not? A sort of celebration of some sort, with delicious foods and games to play. There would be a whole bunch of people here, no doubt. The likelihood that she would actually find her father at such a place was little to none. She had a hard time believing that he would be here right then and there, but there was no reason why he wouldn't have been here in the past.
The little Minccino in her blue hood lifted her head up a tad before letting out a massive yawn. The bushy tail of her's stretched out as she placed both her paws on the head of her new Trainer. Bright eyed and bushy tailed from a pleasant little nap, little Mabel was wide awake and eager to take on the rest of her day. "I see you're awake now," Veronika giggled at Mabel's sudden energy. "You think you're up for helping me look for clues?"
The Minccino gave her new Trainer a confident smile and a nod. (Yeah! Let's do it!) Mabel's grey, fluffy tail wagged eagerly as the two of them began looking around for anyone who may have known anything that was useful to them. There were so many people that it was hard to tell if any one of them would be of any help. Veronika let out a hum as she found herself having to stop and fold her arms over her chest.
"This isn't working as well as I'd hoped," Veronika begrudgingly admitted in a whisper to Mabel. "How are we even supposed to go about doing this? It's not like we can just go up to random strangers and ask if they know about a criminal who used to be famous for being in a long line of thieves and Pokemon abusers."
(Hm...) Mabel found herself folding her arms over Veronika's head, placing her head in between the woman's pigtails. (This is tough...) Minccino let out a bit of a sigh, allowing her ears to lower a bit.
"Mabel, is something wrong?" Veronika questioned, taking the Minccino out her her hood and hold Mabel in front of her.
(I'm hungry...) Mabel rubbed her stomach to let Veronika know what the problem was.
"Oh, I see," Veronika nodded. "All of these smells must be making you hungry. I suppose we can't focus on our task on an empty stomach." Veronika cradled the little Minccino in her arms and scratched her chin a bit. "Are you ready to get some yummy food in your tummy, Mabel?"
(Yay! Yay!) Mabel nodded and eagerly waved her round, fuzzy paws in the air.
Veronika let out another giggle and nodded. "Then lets get that tummy of yours filled."

Money for Nothing "So? Plan A or Plan B?"Hands locked behind her head and hair coiled around its usual place on her shoulders, Miyoko otherwise didn't stand out all that much as she made her way through Vega's packed streets, the city's flashing neon lights arguably drowned out by the warm yellow of the Gala below. Wearing only her usual jeans, dull red t shirt and worn sneakers there was very little to actually set her apart from the surrounding crowd, and to a point she actually liked it that way. Considering that this was one of her few days actually spent not working it came as a refreshing change of pace not having to worry about someone who recognized her asking for a favor or potentially getting hired for a job out of the blue. Her PokeGear was turned off, the separate cell phone she kept just in case powered down... really, the only problem she had was trying to find something capable of keeping her attention long enough to prevent boredom. After going through enough stalls they all started to feel somewhat alike - there were really only so many variations on carnival games - and one could only eat for so long before starting to feel ill. Normally, anyways, which brought Miyoko's attention back to- "Rocky? Rocky! Motherfu-" Miyoko started, turning around to find the large bug that was normally quite good about staying close suddenly not by her shoulder and only biting her tongue on realizing several younger children were nearby. As far as Pokemon went he wasn't exactly the brightest, and that usually wasn't much of a problem since he knew enough to stay out of trouble. In a place like the Gala, though, surrounded by new lights, sounds and people... to say that he was easily distracted was something of an understatement, and trying to keep him from wandering off had been a losing battle for most of the night. Turning completely around to look back the way they'd come, Miyoko struggled to gain an additional handful of inches' worth of height as she stood on her toes to peer over the crowd. Sure enough, the Heracross's horn was bobbing back and forth as he was going back the way they'd come from, something having gotten his attention and managing to hold it for longer than a few moments. Dropping back down onto her heels the trainer began to give chase after the Pokemon, with Heracross himself only pausing for a moment in confusion as he accidentally bumped into a girl carrying a smaller gray Pokemon with considerable force.

The young woman glared at the seemingly endless rows of lines near any place that even appeared as though they sold food of any kind. The young woman let out a massive groan as she started to get frustrated. "Well," Ms. Lopes placed a right hand on her right hip as she sighed. "We've got plenty of options, if we're looking for long lines and plenty of waiting."
(Aw...) The poor little Minccino let out a pitiful moan as she leaned over the arm that was carrying her. (I'm so hungry...) The Minccino let out a soft, high pitch whine as her ears lowered.
Veronika looked down at her new Pokemon and smiled, stroking the little Chinchilla Pokemon's head. "Don't worry, Mabel," Veronika cooed as if Mabel was a little baby or her precious little poodle. "We'll get something in that little tummy of yours." Veronika held Mabel out in front of her, allowing the Minccino to see one of her rare playful smiles. "In the mean time what do you-" At this point, Veronika and Mabel hadn't even noticed the massive Bug-Type Pokemon that was heading straight for them when the Heracross knocked Veronika over accidentally. "Oof!" Veronika let out a bit of a grunt, but found herself almost dropping Mabel. Thankfully, she managed to keep a grip on her Minccino before she slipped out of her hands. The young woman let out a sigh of relief. "Mabel, are you alright?"
The little Minccino gave her Trainer a nod. (Yep!) But her cute little brown eyes weren't so friendly to the one who knocked them over. Mabel began waving her short little arms around temperamentally as she scolded Rocky. (Hey!What's the big idea? What'd you go bumping into us like that for?)
"Now, Mabel," Veronika spoke calmly. "I'm sure they didn't mean to bump into us," Mabel let out a huff and begrudgingly folded her arms over her chest. The young woman face Heracross. "I'm sorry, it was my fault I-" But Veronika hadn't realized at that point that it was a Heracross and let out a massive yelp, covering her mouth in the process. If this had been a human, her reaction would have been a no brainer, but seeing as a Heracross bumped into her, she was a little more reluctant to respond. Still, she decided to reply the same way she had intended to. "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I didn't mean to bump into you." Veronika tilted her head a bit. "I think I've seen a Pokemon like you before, but I can't seem to remember what you're called..."
Veronika's eyebrows arched a bit in thought as she looked into the eyes of the Pokemon, who most likely had stopped paying attention to her a while ago. Mabel looked up at her Trainer and gave the Heracross a rather unimpressed look. (Well... You're not all that bright, are you?)

Money for Nothing Truthfully speaking, it took Rocky a moment to realize what had happened. The relative difference in both size and strength was enough that the Heracross initially didn't realize that it was a person he had bumped into, nor did it register that the lack of further physical resistance was due to the fact that the girl he'd collided with was no longer where she'd initially been. On turning around Rocky's first act was to look around at eye level - it wasn't until the Minccino began to very loudly scold him that Rocky directed his attention downwards. For lack of a easily movable head, the Pokemon's entire body would quirk slightly to the side as the Heracross gave the smaller Pokemon a rather quizzical look instead of immediately responding. Had he bumped into them? It certainly didn't sound like himself to knock over a complete stranger. If anything Rocky liked to think he was quite friendly when other people were involved. At the same time, though, the girl and her Pokemon had been clearly knocked over by something. Was that the bump he'd just felt a moment ago? It wasn't a particularly pleasant thought to try and reconcile, but as Rocky stood there mulling over the alien thought his attention would suddenly be snatched by the girl as she began to speak. At least until she saw who she was talking to - letting out a rather loud yelp of surprise and what sounded quite a bit like fear, the Heracross's body would tilt again to the other side in renewed confusion, expression now one of concern. Simply staring at the girl a long, awkward moment would pass before Rocky would take half a step forward, beginning to reach forward as if to offer a hand up... at least until another voice sounded out from the crowd behind Veronika, immediately snagging Rocky's attention as his eyes snapped up to the source. "Dammit, how many times have I told you not to go off on your ow-" Miyoko was calling out, shouldering her way through the shifting mass of people only for the trainer to find her words cut off mid sentence as she saw that Rocky was not alone. Freezing for only the briefest instant as her brain processed the information and filled in the blanks on what had likely happened, Miyoko kept silent as she stepped forward from the crowd and started to approach the group, unsure of exactly what had happened in the few seconds that Rocky had escaped her oversight. "Oi, don't just stand there, help her up. You. Hurt at all?" Miyoko continued after a moment, gaze briefly lingering on Rocky before directing the last question to the girl he'd knocked over. As the Heracross resumed offering his arm to help Veronika off the ground Miyoko would finish closing the distance between the group as a whole, her outward disposition more wary than anything else.
