Veronika is a young adult with a rather... unpleasant back story. The young woman has a strong resentment toward her family, what they put her through, and especially what they put Pokemon through. This young woman harbors a lot of guilt from a lot of things she realizes was out of her control. 

Because of all this, Veronika strives to move beyond the shadow of her lineage. She wishes night and day to wipe away the tarnished name of the Lopes and earn the forgiveness of all Pokemon in her family's behalf. Though she resents them, she still finds it impossible not to love her family. Her mother planted a sort of loyalty to her family, but was unable to totally convince her on their cause. 

Veronika doesn't know how to treat Pokemon. On one hand she has quite the compassion for them, but it honestly depends on the day. Some days she finds herself out right hating Pokemon, even her own. The only Pokemon she could never bring herself to hate would be Mabel  Veronika rarely ever says no to Mabel, but when the Minccino takes it too far, Veronika doesn't ever raise her voice. She rarely ever says a coarse word against Mabel.

Due to these circumstances, Veronika isn't the cheeriest of people around. On the contrary, she can come across as very serious and one track minded, mostly because she is, but aside from that she is a young woman who harbors a lot of guilt on behalf of her entire family line. 


Veronika had an incredibly unstable childhood as far as anyone outside of the Lopes family were concerned. For the Lopes, though, her life was rather typical. Veronika was born and raised by a Sabrina Lopes, but she never met her father. Veronika, as a child, has always asked about her father, but has yet to know a thing about him outside of rumors.

Veronika was home schooled by the one person who probably had no business teaching her anything. Still, Veronika ate up everything her mother told her, and swore by it like any other child would their only parent. However, Sabrina kind of messed up one element in the whole Lopes family formula: she allowed her daughter to have a relationship outside of just the two of them. Perhaps the Lopes formula was to not love your children enough to put their well being over what it was they were meant to become.

Because of this, Veronika began seeing holes in a lot of the things Sabrina taught her. Veronika was being taught how to track various Pokemon, and how anyone else's Pokemon was really her own Pokemon to do as she pleased with. Her mother had taught her how to steal Pokemon from other people in order to get every penny out of Pokemon. Veronika was taught that this was not only a good thing, but that it was right. Throughout Veronika's childhood, Sabrina would bring out a random amount of Pokemon and take them into a "special" room. Veronika would never see those Pokemon again, but the little girl never questioned it. Why should she, after all? Her mother was everything to her.

...But if that was true, then why wasn't anyone else stealing like she was?

Outside the confinements of her home, Veronika heard people saying various things, like, Pokemon weren't weapons, they're friends. They weren't just a means to an end, they were their own creatures who should have been treated with respect. These were things that her friends believed.

By the time she became a teen, Veronika was being pulled at the seams by these two very different ideals. These were two very different ways of living, and as much as she wanted, needed to believe what her mother was telling her, she couldn't. 

Finally, when Veronika turned sixteen, Sabrina showed her precisely what it meant to hold the name of the Lopes family. She brought her down to the "special" room, and... let's just say what she saw wasn't pretty. There wasn't too much gore or anything, but any Pokemon that were, ahem, breathing, were clearly scared our of their minds. Sabrina showed Veronika what she did to the lucky ones... Let's just say Veronika was never the same after that.

Veronika couldn't believe it. Her own mother had been doing these awful, horrible things to these Pokemon, and she did nothing about it. What made things even worse was that for two years, two years, she remained silent about it. She didn't tell anyone about what she saw. Whenever the topic of abusive Pokemon Trainers came up around her friends, she would either clam up, or walk out of the conversation.

Eventually her friends started to get worried about her and tried to get Veronika to talk to them about it. Veronika never did tell her friends what was going on, but she didn't stay silent forever. 

At eighteen, Veronika was reading a book when she heard some meowing. During this particular event, the teen saw the head of a Skitty sticking out of the bag, mewing quite happily. Veronika didn't know what it was about this particular Pokemon, but the teen's heart sank when her mother slammed the door. Veronika didn't need to see it to know what happened. Sabrina came back out with a trash bag, and just like the others the Skitty was never seen again. That was when Veronika had finally had enough.

She let the authorities know what was going on, and they were quick to arrest her mother. From then on, Veronika was on her own, but she soon made a vow. As far as she was concerned, the lifestyle of the Lopes family was in the past. She would make sure all of it was erased.

But she wouldn't go it alone. She owed Pokemon one simple thing: to give them a chance. She wanted to see what they were for herself. So she was given a Pokemon by a friend, who's dad was a well known Minccino breeder. The friend warned her that this particular Minccino had ways of getting what she wanted, but Veronika didn't care. She would take this Minccino with her and wallow in regrets later, she thought.

What she didn't expect was to absolutely adore this Pokemon...

Pound: A physical attack where the user uses a limb to strike the foe. In this case, Minccino uses its tail.
Baby-Doll Eyes: A status move in which the user looks at the opponent with its cute eyes in order to lower the opponent's guard. The attack lowers the opposing Pokemon's attack by one stage and is a priority move, which means it will attack first in most situations disregarding the speed of the opposing Pokemon, unless the opponent is using a priority move as well.
Iron Tail: A Physical Steel type attack, the user hardens its tail to be as hard as iron, and slams the opponent with Iron Tail. This attack has a 30% chance of lowering the opponents defense by one stage, but is also only has a 75% accuracy.

PERSONALITY — Mabel is a mischievous little chinchilla who always loves to have fun. A great contrast to Veronika, Mabel is a spoiled little Pokemon who doesn't know the meaning of no. Well, that's not totally true... Anyway, Mabel is one for the neat and tidy, and instinctively use her cleaning skills like any other Minccino. Mabel goes wherever she pleases and does whatever she wants, but the moment Veronika says so much as one word against it, Minccino will rush right back to her Trainer like a good little Minccino. Whenever Veronika and Minccino ever get into a disagreement, Mabel just about always wins thanks to a little trick called Baby Doll Eyes. She's become quite a pro at using that technique to make her guilty Trainer do just about anything for her. She is a couple inches smaller than most Minccino, and you know what they say! Smaller is cuter! However, as much of a spoiled Pokemon Mabel is, she is also a kind Pokemon. Veronika herself has never owned another Pokemon aside from Mabel, but she's always been quite the big middle sister among her little of Minccino.
