Vega City was home to Sol Chance. A city of flashing lights and good times, but one that carried a seedy underbelly full of vice, one that stunk like rotten meat if a wayward soul happened to stray too close to far from the gilded and glowing streets that ran through the city like rivulets. The Vega City Gala did an excellent job of hiding this dark side even better than usual, but all but the most oblivious locals were keen to the open secret of their home's shady underworld. Sol was no exception, but it did not bother him. This wasn't his first gala, and it would not be his last. Like most, he just ignored it. For now, he would focus well enough on the festivities. That's what everyone did, after all. Ignore the snakes underfoot. So, with his stomach full, Sol turned away from the food stall he had been patronizing and set off into the crowd. It would be pragmatic, he thought, to take advantage of the gathering crowds and head off the beaten path. For now, even wild Pokemon swarmed the city when the Gala came. Plenty of food and other things to get into, it was a dream for them. Wild Pokemon and fellow trainers. . . just what Sol Chance liked to seek out. As Sol cut through the warm, throbbing throngs of people, the teenage knife accidentally rammed into the backside of someone. "Oops," he muttered, "my bad, dude."
@darcysorry NAME — Fae
LEVEL — 8.
SPECIES — Eevee
TYPE — Normal
ABILITY — Adaptability
HELD ITEM — N/A
GENDER — Female
HEIGHT — 1'
WEIGHT — 15 lbs.
MOVE LIST — Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip, Helping Hand, Synchronoise
PERSONALITY — Fae the Eevee is much like her trainer in the fact that she is a dedicated, ambitious young Pokemon that is willing to push her limits. However, as opposed to her trainer, she is much more business-like and even tempered, thinking with a much more analytical mind as opposed to her training. Some would also say that she is a lot more lax, not paying as much mind to others as Sol does. From a distance, this Eevee seems strangely calm and mature, approaching matters of battle with almost professionalism. In addition, this Eevee can also be a bit stubborn, and sometimes butts heads with her trainer, though she feels it is for the best.
NAME — Avi
LEVEL — 8
SPECIES — Pikipek
TYPE — Flying, Normal.
ABILITY — Keen Eye
HELD ITEM — N/A
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 1'
WEIGHT — 2.6 lbs
MOVE LIST — Peck, growl, Echoed Voice
PERSONALITY — Pipipek likes to build things. It doesn't matter what it is. Nests, simple tools, wooden picture frames, strange art pieces. Pipipek knows that building is in his/her blood. Pipipek has even taken his/her talent to the next level by offering his/her services to the other wild Pokemon in Breshno Flatlands. Pipipek learns a lot from watching people in Stellara's cities do construction projects and the like, and while Pipipek does not have the skills (or the opposable thumbs) to be able to build as well as a person, he/she is able to surprise others with their works of art. Personality wise, Pipipek is a creative and artistic Pokemon. He/she enjoys the abstract and has quite the philosophical outlook on life. While he/she may not be a battler at heart, that does not mean that he/she opposes it. It will simply take more effort to be as good of a battler as the average Pokemon.
NAME — Duo
LEVEL — Level 5
SPECIES — Kabuto TYPE — Water/Rock ABILITY — Swift Swim
HELD ITEM — N/A
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 1'08''
WEIGHT — 26 lbs
MOVE LIST — Scratch, Harden, Absorb
PERSONALITY — Kabuto is a very mischievous Pokemon. He loves to mess with people, especially his trainer, by pretending to be a rock and tripping anyone that is unfortunate enough to pass by. He is also extremely gluttonous and will devour anything in sight, making him quite the chunky fossil. As such, he is very sluggish in battle and relies on his hard shell to protect himself. Kabuto will also use his thick shell to ram enemies while furiously scratching them with his claws. Kabuto suffers from serious tunnel vision, and, once he gets angry, no one is safe from his wrath.

Darcy wasn't exactly new to bustling cities, coming from so close to Goldenrod and all, but he had to admit that Vega City had a glamour and grandeur all its own. The mass collection of people for the Gala wasn't exactly his scene on the best of days, but his Pokemon seemed to enjoy it enough. He hadn't freed either from their respective Pokeballs yet though probably to avoid a fight between the pair or, heavens forbid, a stranger. Especially with the way that Rogue liked to act most of the times. For something as cute as a button, the Cutiefly had the temperament of an Ursaring.
He'd been eying up some Clefairy dolls at one of the game booths, sighing slightly. He was far too old to be playing with dolls, but he'd kill for a chance to find a real one. After all, he wasn't much of a fairy type trainer if his only fairy type was a half inch tall ball of fury more than fairy. His internal doldrums were interrupted by the sudden impact of someone from behind him, lurching the young man forward and sending him to the ground. In the fall, somehow the messenger bag's flap gave way and scattered several of the young man's possessions to the ground: a small Pokemon grooming kit, an old leather bound book, and hitting and rolling to the boy who bumped into his feet a few empty pokeballs. The ones housing his two Pokemon were still on the messenger bag strap, held in place by magnets trainers commonly incorporated into outfits for just such occasions.
Skidding his knees, Darcy yelped slightly. The boy who'd jack-knifed into him at least paused long enough to offer an apology. It was more than he'd expect in a crowd as big as this.
"It's fine," Darcy said half-heartedly, shoving the book and grooming kit into his bag before noticing where the spare Pokeballs had rolled, "could you maybe hand me those?" He looked at the blue haired boy for the first time since the fall, shifting his right leg to stand and wincing slightly at the discomfort. He was just grateful he hadn't been holding Diva when he fell. That could've been much worse.

Here's a reply, and gonna ask for our first round of Spawns to see if we feel like writing to them.
Also, whoops!! Diva's a lvl 10 Popplio, Torrent Ability. Water Gun, Pound, Growl, Aqua Ring, and Disarming Voice (Sig) are her moves. Rogue's a lvl 10 Cutiefly, Shield Dust ability. Absorb, Fairy Wind, Stun Spore, Struggle Bug (sig) are his moves.

Sol Chance sighed as the other trainer uttered his request. Sure, thought Sol, it had been his fault that the Pokeballs had been scattered like marbles, but was it his responsibility to pick them up as well now? After all, he had already apologized! For a moment, he hesitated with a half-step, eager to beat feet out into the crowd and meld with its indistinct form, becoming one more dot in a shifting mass of color and people. But that hesitation was all it took. "Fine," he muttered quickly, "I'll help."The young trainer quickly dropped into a walking squat, chasing after the rolling, his own bag now tight against the small of his back with the effort, his own Pokeballs hanging loosely from his belt. With a grunt, Sol retrieved some of the tiny orbs, one after another, gruffly snatching them up from under the footfall of festival goers. As he gathered the loose orbs, a wild Pokemon scampered by, a pale sandy knife cutting through the crowd with purpose: a Sandile, he realized too late. Before he could respond, the creature had scampered off into the crowds where there was little chance the intrepid Sol might find him. With another heavy sigh, Sol returned to his 'victim' and held the Pokeballs out to him. "Here," he said simply, almost as if a command. "Those are all the ones I could find," he added as an afterthought.
Passing on the Sandile! Darcy Quin your go!

Darcy accepted the pokeballs from the young man, counting them up and realizing he'd only lost a single one of his spares. It was a little annoying but judging from the way the other talked it wasn't worth the trouble to bring up. Darcy stood, realizing he had a little height and size on the other and tried to estimate the boy's age in his head. Younger than him, obviously, but still old enough to have decent enough manners to attempt an apology and begrudgingly offer aid when requested for; the heavy sighing at the imposition of actually being asked to help the person he'd knocked down though smacked of teenage ennui to Darcy.
When you read enough novels and books, it was easy to associate people with characters; Darcy had often cast himself as a background character in his siblings' lives after all. Yet here was someone who in the sheer moments of conversation they'd exchanged had established his importance. The way he returned the Pokeballs was proof enough of that. Darcy had to wonder just what kind of story the other boy spun around him, though his eyes drifted to the side as he watched a Bronzor float lazily behind the other's head before drifting off into the crowd. It was a bit of a sight to see, to say the least.
"Thanks." Darcy said with a slightly guarded smile coming to his face. He offered his hand forward. "I'm Darcy, a traveling trainer." He failed to elaborate on the social nicety any further, because honestly he wasn't sure if he was pleased to meet this boy in front of him yet. Still, a part of him longed for that casual confidence this boy treated the scenario with instead of the neurotic apologizing Darcy would've offered in a similar circumstance.

Sol Chance's mind was already on the horizon. As soon as the weight of the Pokeballs left his hands, he was already itching to beat feet and move on. Impudence was the flavor that colored Sol Chance- impudence and impatience. The young trainer had places to go, people to see, deeds to perform and here he was stuck in the middle of a crowd while some dainty guy had spilled the contents of his bag. As a testament to this, even now his eyes were gazing into the distance: a Baltoy floated around, dancing like a top in the crowd, and the go-getter in Sol itched to go and make it his own. But the other trainer brought him crashing back into reality. "Eh?" said Sol suddenly, his mind snapping back into place, trying to piece together the moment from the cursory information he had passively absorbed as his mind had wandered elsewhere. Darcy, he thought suddenly, that was his name. And he was a trainer, like Sol was. Sol let Darcy's hand hover between them for a moment as he gave the man an appraising look, not being shy about it at all. He seemed like a pleasant fellow, thought Sol, though maybe he needed to be more careful. Irony was not Sol's forte. Quickly remembering that first impressions mattered, Sol took him up on the handshake and would pump his hand twice swiftly before withdrawing it with the same alacrity. "The name is Sol Chance," said Sol with an easy confidence, as if he enjoyed saying his own name, "traveling trainer as well."Sol Chance gave a sharp chuckle, as if laughing at a joke only he was privy to. "Though that would sound a lot better if I wasn't here," he said, offering some explanation, "I grew up here."
Darcy Quin Just gonna pass on the Baltoy myself, your go!

A young girl tugging a Drifloon passed the pair by, and Darcy couldn't help but notice the exasperated glint in the balloon's eyes. He supposed that, given what most pokedexes and guidebooks said of them, the little ghost had different ideas in mind. He couldn't help but find the Drifloon a tad....creepy, in that regard. His proclivity for tall tales and fantasy had led him to specializing in the enigmatic fairy type, but ghosts had their own mysterious and magical quality of their own. Of course, there was always the rare occurrence of a ghost and fairy type, though Darcy had only read about the little mimic Pokemon, never seeing one in person.
Sol Chance? An interesting enough name, Darcy supposed. At least he seemed to have more manners than the white haired young man initially gave him credit for. When he also mentioned being a traveling trainer and immediately laughing it off as a local, Darcy offered his own small laugh.
"At least you have a place to hang your hat at the end of the day that isn't a Pokemon Center, right?" His eyes lit up slightly. "Though maybe you could tell me some sights to see during the Gala? I've been coming in and out of town during it so far to work with my team, but haven't really had the chance to enjoy it very much." Darcy chuckled at his own expense then, "I guess that's what I get for being so picky about the Pokemon I train. Anybody can catch a Ratata in a field, right?"
The saying was a common euphemism back in Johto about people who casually trained Pokemon while living their normal lives. People unwilling to go the extra mile to find something new only had their local resources to work with, and Goldenrod had many people like that living in and around it. Of course, with the National Park and two connecting routes the wild Pokemon were pretty diverse but it didn't change the sentiment too much. If you weren't willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone, what hope did you have of being a great trainer?
Lime had loved learning the saying, which kept Darcy's smile on his face after he said it. ----- Passing on the Drifloon Sol Chance

"I'm only in town for the Gala right now," he explained insistently and with a sudden roughness, "I'm not even staying at home. I've been boarding at the center, like the rest of the travelers."
He frowned. In a way, it offended him to have it suggested that he was hanging his hat somewhere leisurely instead of roughing it like a real trainer. Sol was on this journey to prove himself, and he did not want people to think that he was just some kid playing at being a vagabond when, in reality, he was actually roughing it with the best of them, and probably more so than some of them. But the subject quickly moved on and it seemed as if Darcy was wanting to bring Sol on as a temporary guide. A flash of inspiration took the young trainer, and suddenly an opportunity dawned upon him; this was the perfect chance to show off one of the many faces of his knowledge. "Sure," he said, "I can show you around. Just follow me, and I can show you any place in the city, guy. I'll show you places where those clearance sale trainers you mentioned couldn't."
Hyperbole, of course, but the young man was prone to overstating himself. Without paying much mind to anything else Darcy had to say, Sol Chance took off into the crowd and beckoned for Darcy to follow. "Come on," he said, "I'll give you the rundown- starting with some of the shops. Tourists like you really love this junk."Eagerly, Sol led Darcy- if he followed- to a line of shops, numerous goods such as toys and clothes lining the windows or open stalls of each. Darcy Quin

He'd hit a sore spot almost instantaneously, that much Darcy could tell. The kid leapt to the defensive about only being in town for the Gala and not even staying at home. He regretted his choice of words almost immediately. It hadn't been his intent to undermine Sol, but he didn't exactly have a way to take it back, now did he? At least the blue-haired boy seemed to be able to recuperate fast enough, especially when the proposition of playing tour guide actually seemed to entertain him. Darcy breathed an inward sigh of relief. Something about the boy reminded him of his oldest brother, the dragon master in training living in Blackthorn City. They had a certain air of self-importance to them that someone like Darcy just couldn't replicate. As much as he reminded himself that he was the main character of his own story, he always felt a little like a background characters in someone else's
"Thank you Sol." Darcy managed before the other trainer darted into the crowd with only a single wave to follow. He was going to show the white-haired fairy trainer shops that tourists liked? Well....he could always use some souvenirs to send home to his parents. Darcy followed, not quite as confident in the surge of people as his guide. They found themselves in front of rows of stores and stalls hawking cheap knick-knacks and tchotchkes. The white haired boy perused them, though didn't exactly find anything worth the cost of shipping home or carrying on him for an extended period of time.
"Is it always so busy during the Gala?" He yelled over to Sol who had yet to take any resemblance of a pause in their little tour as they passed down of the shops; Darcy had to dip away briefly to avoid a particularly large woman trying to wrestle a thing chain with lightning strikes ornaments onto her mammoth neck. He pitied the metal briefly.

Sol looked back over his shoulder, hearing Darcy's shouted question beneath the latent buzzing of the choral crowd that was busy nipping at their heels, Darcy himself nearly ending up in a wreck of human flesh. He gave a quick nod, confirming. "Yeah," he said, "it's always pretty busy 'round this time during the Gala. Vega already has a reputation as a party town, so of course people go all in on the Gala."He spoke with the easy confidence of a local, assured by his hard won knowledge of his hometown. This was his first world, and he the chronicler of him as far as his own story was concerned. The dainty boy seemed out of place here, Sol decided, his own blue eyes once again locking onto the man like a hunter sizing up a rare mark. Yes, he thought, Darcy seemed better suited to a library than a party, at least at first glance- though that was usually what Sol operated by: first impressions. It was not Darcy's world. A suddenness took him, as he slowed and closed the distance between Darcy- who still seemed to be struggling with the crowds- and himself. "Hey," he said, his own voice low and strained in the crowd, "just thought I would let you know, you oughta be careful while you're here. Lots of shady sorts looking to take advantage of people during this thing. Like, for real, if I was going to rob you or something, I think it would have been pretty easy." Darcy Quin
