TAKE EVERY SINGLE TEAR FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR
“Someone battle me! I don’t care who! If you beat me, I’ll give you a reward!”
Well, okay, he asked for it, and Senri felt that he should really train his Pokemon somehow. He hadn't had a full team yet, sure, but at the very least he could train Mitsuru and Fuwa, who were fairly close to reaching the same level as Hikaru, but still need some more battle experience. So far, none of his Pokemon have yet to participate in a trainer battle, so it was high time to change that. Plus, there was also a reward if he won. He was going to make sure that this was the case, even if it was something more similar to pocket change.
Rana Town was a nice, homey settlement that reminded him of Sandgem Town back in Sinnoh, especially with its emphasis on agriculture and Pokemon husbandry. Everywhere he looked were small, quaint houses that were separated by wooden fences. Grass grew in abundance except in designated dirt paths, which still had footprints left from particularly heavy Pokemon that have walked on its tracks. He could imagine that this settlement was small enough for everyone to know, well, everyone else. Maybe this Mikey person was too bored with how slow things were going around here and wanted to battle people, or maybe he too was training his Pokemon. Whichever the case, he gave the number written on the wanted ad a call, and thankfully he responded pretty quickly with a time and place to meet up. It was after lunch, so there weren't a lot of people around this particular plaza, but supposedly there was an open field specifically for sparring somewhere nearby here. Hikaru, who had been sitting on his shoulder as usual, called his attention and pointed to this large patch of cleared land. Was that it? Upon closer inspection, there were indeed chalk markings that were akin to standard battlefields. It formed a huge white rectangle that had some lines in between; the center forming into a Poke Ball of sorts.
"There you are! Hope ya didn't get lost along the way." a voice called out behind him. Senri turned to find a young man in an ace trainer get up, very eager to get started, it seemed.
"Just a little bit, but that's on me." the young man replied with a small smile. Hikaru greeted the newcomer with a happy cry.
"Cool. So, shall we battle?"
He cut to the chase, didn't he? Senri nodded in agreement and the two of them took the opposite ends of the field. It would be a one on one for the sake of convenience, and that was fine by him. He just needed to figure out what Pokemon to send out against his opponent's. "Alright, let's go, Stunky!" he threw a Poke Ball into the air and released a familiar face, albeit not exactly a good one. Hey, this was kind of reminiscent of his first impressions of Fuwa, huh? It was really interesting to see Sinnoh Pokemon so common around here.
The little skunk Pokemon looked ready to battle. Hmm, maybe he should let Mitsuru have a shot. Alright then! "Come on out, Mitsuru!"
Senri's own Poke Ball released the blue penguin onto the field, looking a little dazed at first but then upon noticing his opponent also went into a battle stance. "(Yeah, come on! I'm gonna beat you!)" the Piplup shouted.
"Start with Focus Energy, Stunky!" Mikey commanded. The Stunky did as told and concentrated powerful energy. Oh boy, Senri thought, this was not going to be easy.
