The Talas Company Power Plant. Sol has heard the name before. Anyone who paid any mind to the news at all had surely heard it before, just like the young trainer had, even if it had happened a while back. Talas. . . that name always came up when discussing disasters and regulations and all that other business stuff that Sol really just did not care about. Some nonsense about the treatment of Pokemon and the ethics of using them in labor, fairness and reasonable expectations. . . Sol did not know the true depth of the matter, only what had been repeated endlessly online or through the television.
But even now, as Sol Chance stood before the ancient power plant, the air thrummed with electric danger, as if the rebellion had never really ended. Nature had started to return to the industrial corpse, the fallen gray giant of big business. It towered above him, still an impressive sight, and even now as Avi the Pikipek hovered in air, looking over it and him like a guardian, Sol Chance could not quite comprehend the massiveness- or the danger- of it all.
Avi flew into the plant for a few minutes, leaving Sol a moment to prepare himself for his trek inside. Pokeballs, check, Pokedex, check. . . by the time Avi returned, Sol had more than steeled himself for what laid within. The little bird Pokemon fluttered down and settled on its trainer shoulder, a bit of black and copper caught between its beak, carried with purpose.
"More stuff for your arts and crafts?" asked Sol, exasperated, "Kind of frivolous, don't you think?"
The bird seemed to shrug it off, paying Sol's opinion not even a grain of salt and the subject fell flat between them. With a final breath, Sol stepped into the power plant and the rusted and destroyed atmosphere of the place took him in full. Grey debris was strewn about, the wreckage of one of the most infamous incidents in Stellaran history. Somewhere in the distance, rogue electricity crackled. . . though whether Pokemon or deadly machine waiting, clinging to life in its grave, ready to pull a wayward traveler down with it, Sol could not say for certain. . .
"Let's look around," he muttered to Avi and himself, "I hear the Pokemon here are something fierce."
And so they were; descendants of the rebellion, likely, the Pokemon that had claim the power plant as their own had quite the fearsome reputation.
