It had been an interesting time in Tucana Rainforest, and Dokuro decided it was time to have his Salandit trained properly, didn't want what happened back in Rana town to happen again. It was a shame he wasn't able to use her at the forest in fear of what collateral damage happened.
"Alright, if I want to be able to work properly with Salandit I need to make sure I train her properly too. This seems like a good place to start, and the vast amount of ground with little flamable environment in the rocky mountains seems like a good place to minimize damages around her. Come out, Salandit."
The place chosen by Dokuro was in the outskirts of Pavo Town, on the way to the Vaisera Mountains. He figured it could make a good place to train for both of them. There didn't seem to be anything that would spark Salandit's kleptomancy around, at least from what he calculated. There was nobody to be seen, and there was a big enough space with nothing but rocks and ground.
"Alright Salandit. We need to talk." Dokuro assumed a fighting stance. "Your behaviour is unacceptable. Collecting stuff is ok, but stealing is bad. Now, let's shape you up, until you reform yourself" 'This will also serve as training for me, so I'll be knocking 2 pidgeys with one stone throw.'
Salandit was a little bit confused, but still angry, as she was being confronted regarding her collecting habits, so she instantly assumed a defensive stance against Dokuro, who even though he was his trainer, was also assuming an aggressive stance.
"Let's go, Salandit, let your body and soul be purified by the grace of martial arts. WACHA!" A quick dash in, and Dokuro jumped into a mighty flying kick against Salandit.
But Salandit quickly reacted and avoided it with a back jump. "Not bad, but no time to rest! ACHA!" After the landing, Dokuro shifted his weight and closed the distance between him and Salandit, unleashing a rush of punches, known as the pokemon move Arm Thrust!
Salandit wasn't able to react in time and got nailed by couple punches, but they weren't quite as strong, so she was still able to not flinch to them and pulled back once again; Dokuro's remaining punches hitting the air. This time Salandit counter attacked, using Scratch on Dokuro, directly on his left arm, leaving a bleeding wound on it.
"Not bad, but if you think I'll take you seriously for pokemon battles because of that, you are gravely mistaken. NOW LET'S CONTINUE! AI-YAH!" Dokuro unleashed a Karate Chop directly on Salandit's head, a direct critical hit, this one should have been felt. "Now, repent from your bad behavior Salandit"
Salandit responed with an Emder to Dokuro, who manged to avoid the direct hit of the flame by a hair's width, literally, as part of his clothes got charred by the fire, which he propmtly turned off before it became something serious.
"Hey, don't forget to be careful! This might be a fight, but we're still comrades, Salandit! PUNCH OF FRIENDSHIP!"
Salandit was confused about Dokuro's seemingly ilogical words, as she thought it was an actual fight. Amidst the confusion Dokuro punched her with his soul backing his fist. Wishing for the days where Salandit will actually focus in battle, and be able to properly share moments together as trainer and pokemon that don't cause harm to others.
The punch was not actually painful to Salandit physically, but she could feel how the intent of the punch was not to harm her. She felt even more confused by this. But still, she had to defend herself. Salandit tried to Scratch Dokuro again, this time ripping his shirt and chest, and then making some distance between themselves.
"I don't expect you to change right away, but I hope you keep that in mind, Salandit." Dokuro was clearly hurting from the attacks. He was almost breaking down from the damages and tiredness from the combat. "I guess is time we put an end to our sparring match. UUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Dokuro took some distance, and sprinted towards Salandit, promptly followed by an incredibly High Jump that took all his remaining strength. "HYAH!" And in midair, that jump became a mighty KICK! That was easily evaded by Salandit, who even though she still didn't quite understand what her training was trying to do, still didn't want to get hit for no reason.
The outcome of this was Dokuro hurting himself, dropping on the ground from both exhaustion and damages. It was clear he would not be able to move for a little while.
"At least I know... that you can properly fight... Salandit..."
Salandit still looked at Dokuro with confusion, but at the same time realizing a bit that something had to have been wrong. Maybe she should really consider the things she does more. Is not like she disliked Dokuro, it was just her usual way to react in anger when called out. After some inner reflection, Salandit left Dokuro on the ground...
When Dokuro opened his eyes, Salandit was not in front of him anymore. It seems she had left him there. Or so he thought, as when he turned around, he saw couple of orna berries next to him.
"Salandit, please tell me you didn't steal those too"
Salandit got angry for a second, then lowered her head in shame.
"Salandit, stealing is bad. Return those. Now."
Salandit was reluctant. She clearly didn't like the idea of returning the things she collected, even less when she actually did it for somebody else for a change. "Now"
This exchange went for a while, until Dokuro was finally able to stand up by himself again. He was still very exhausted from the fight. There were traces of dried blood on his arm and chest. He was also in need of a new change of clothes because of that and the ripped shirt. Dokuro now standing up, managed to assert himself even more, finally making Salandit return those stolen berries. Hopefully before anybody noticed they were missing or without causing much incident. He patiently waited in the same spot while resting.
"Good, Salandit." He said, while patting Salandit's head after she came back from returning the berries. She actually liked that. Maybe it wasn't so bad to do that kind of stuff once in a while, even though she still found it weird how Dokuro didn't wanted those berries. "Let's go back to town now. Is getting late and I need proper treatment and new clothes. You visiting the pokemon center might be a good idea too, even though I guess my attacks aren't as strong as a pokemon's."
It was a short walk back to Pavo Town. They made it just before night fell, with some stores still open after he received some first aid on his wounds. Now with new bandages covering his torso, chest and left arm, Dokuro proceeded to get Salandit her own treatment at the pokemon center. He received quite a few weird looks for going around in a bandaged upper body, so while Salandit was in the Nurse's care, he got a new set of clothes to go from the stores nearby.
He didn't really expect Salandit to fully change her ways, but at least he expected to understand each other better now, and hopefully not have her going around constantly stealing.
It was a short lived moment of happiness, as he saw Salandit running out of the Pokemon Center with the Nurse's Hat right when he was going back to check on her; Salandit jumping on top of him with happiness of his return and her new hat for her collection. "SALANDIIIIIIT!"
Salandit flinched out of shock, and then remembered what had transpired during the day. "I'm really sorry Nurse Joy! I'm really sorry!" He said while bowing to her. "You too Salandit! Return the hat and apologize!" He said, while forcing Salandit to Bow too, or at least what her crawling body allowed to. It was going to take a while before she fully changed her ways indeed...
