"We'll soon be at the entrance boys. I hope you're ready to help me find the discovery of a lifetime. Aren't you excited" The man leading their expedition spoke as the small group of three had trekked through the landscape towards the direction of the Helos Ruins. As Henry looked at him expectantly, Magnus could only find himself mustering a smile and nodding before focusing back on their trail. He was beginning to regret accepting Henry's request to help guide him through the ruins but it was too late now. He had already said yes and there was no going back unless he wanted to seem as if he was rude, which wasn't an impression he wanted others to have about him.
Earlier in the day, Magnus was in a Pokecenter, allowing the staff to tend his weary Pokemon and taking a break before embarking towards his next location when an archaeologist by the name of Henry had approached him and another trainer, Orion. He had asked the two of them to help escort him through the ruins, mentioning how dangerous it would be and they both seemed to be strong enough trainers that would be able to protect him. He had even offered the two rewards if they would help him. While Magnus was initially suspicious of the man, especially when he had gone up to two random trainers calling them "strong-looking" he had agreed upon seeing how desperate he looked. Fast forward a couple hours and here they were, making the journey to the said ruins.
"Aaaaaand we're here!" Henry exclaimed, pushing a few tree branches aside as it revealed a giant structure overcome with moss. "Aren't you excited? We're all probably this close to making history with this structure. Think of all the artifacts we can discover in here. It'll be amazing!" Once again, Magnus merely responded with a smile and nod which caused Henry to frown at his response. Immediately this would prompt him to speak, feeling as if Henry was unhappy with his lack of enthusiasm. "I'm very excited, sir. Who knows what will be in the ruins." He stuttered out.
The archaeologist would turn his frown back into a smile, "Please no need to be formal. Just call me Henry." Shrugging off the backpack, he would then place it on a nearby rock as he took out 3 flashlights, throwing it at Magnus and Orion's direction. "It's going to be dark in here, so use these. The battery should last the entire journey but if not, I've packed spares in here so just let me know." Magnus nodded as he catches the flashlight. Turning it on to briefly test it, he immediately notes how bright it is before quickly turning it back off. "So now are you two ready? If so we can go!" Without even waiting for the two, Henry immediately walked towards the entrance, prompting Magnus to chase after him. A sense of dread began to settle in his stomach, as he began to anticipate the events that are to come.
