A New Home [CAPTURE]

The evening air beckoned to Everett, so he got up from the seat he was in and walked outside. It was a crisp night in Shaula Town. The weather always seemed so perfect to him every time he visited. It was part of the reason this town drew him in enough to make a home for himself here. After a bit of wandering, he was stopped when he heard a faint cry in the distance. Making a split-second decision, he decided to investigate the source of the noise.

Finally, after a short search, Everett found what he had been looking for. A little brown Pokemon was cowering in a corner behind the Pokemon Center. He scanned it with its Pokedex, and it was revealed to be an Eevee. Interested, he cautiously made his way over to the little Pokemon, holding his hand out. "Hey there, little guy," he said, speaking softly. "What are you doing here-ow!" He pulled his hand away when the Eevee attempted to bite him. It looked at him, terrified. When Everett looked a little closer, he noticed that Eevee was injured. He couldn't tell if it had just been in a rough battle or if it was...something else.

He backed up a little bit, and decided to let his team help him out. He threw out Caesar's Poke Ball, and the Bulbasaur appeared in a flash. Immediately noticing the injured Pokemon in front of him, Caesar looked back to Everett in shock. Everett just threw up his hands to imply that he was as unsure of the situation as his Pokemon. Turning back around, Caesar slowly approached the Eevee.

"(Hi there,)" he said tentatively, trying to show that he meant no harm. "(Are you hurt?)"

"(Get that human away from me!)" the Eevee cried. "(Don't let him hurt me!)"

Caesar looked quizzically at the little brown fox after that statement. "(Everett wouldn't hurt you,)" he assured the injured Pokemon. "(We're here to help. What's your name?)"

Eevee looked Caesar in the eye, then up at Everett. He was apprehensive, but something inside him said that these two meant him no harm. "(I'm...Darwin,)" he said. "(At least...that's what my Trainer named me, before he left me here.)"

Caesar was shocked. "(Your Trainer abandoned you?)" He repeated, making sure he understood properly.

"(Yeah, he said it was because I wasn't strong enough,)" Darwin recalled. "(I couldn't evolve the way he wanted me to.)"

Caesar looked back at Everett, and the Bulbasaur's expression told him everything he needed to know. He knelt down to get on Darwin's level and slowly put his hand out again. "I won't hurt you, buddy," he said sincerely. "Why don't you come with us? I'll take you back to the Pokemon Center and we'll get you fixed up." He set a Poke Ball out in front of him, and awaited the Eevee's response. Surely, going with Everett would be better than being a stray on his own!

PERSONALITY — Darwin was previously abandoned by a Trainer, so his opinion of them is not very high. He's very nervous around humans other than Everett, and will often hide behind him when others try to get near him. To his fellow teammates, however, Darwin is one of the gentlest, most caring souls. He is never malicious in any way, and would never do anything to harm his team. When Darwin’s sure that he’s not in any danger, he’s a very energetic and fun-loving Pokemon. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of him, as he runs off a lot and gets himself into trouble. He definitely requires some patience when he gets like this, but Darwin can grow into a great companion.
