Day one gone by The wind is getting colder every night [attr="class","quicklinks"]692 words Here you go, hope this is alright, leaving it open for anyone else to join as well? | [attr="class","technoscroll"] ❝ Breath slowly but gradually quickened, and dreamless sleep drifted away as conciousness returned and struggled to the surface. A deep breath, sudden, purposeful as it was pulled into lungs and senses become alert. Silence, save the soft stirring of his own breath met Seth's ears, and a moment later his eyelids flicked open, his first instinct to draw back a wiry arm to prop himself up on his elbow. Tense and ready to spring up, he scanned his surroundings quickly, hazel eyes flicking about his room, darting to each shadow and corner reflexively to check for threats or disturbance. Everything was as it had been left last night he noted after a brief moment, and with a slight relaxation of stiff muscles, he allowed himself to yawn, a tanned hand covering his mouth, eyes closing a moment. Pawing at them once he had finished exhaling, he sleepily pushed himself the rest of the way up and slid out of bed, stretching his limbs and back before popping his neck. He took a few moments, more or less awake now, to make the bed neatly up again. He didn't know if he planned on staying in Cygni another night or not, but either way he refused to leave it a mess. Gathering a fresh pair of clothing, Seth found his way to a washroom, making a thorough effort to wash his hair before cleaning himself, and refreshing himself. He toweled dry lightly and tied silken brown strands back into a bun before donning a green turtle-neck, dark grey pants, and work-boots. He returned briefly to the room that was temporarily his to fold his clothes and put them away in his bag but left only after grabbing his belt and pokeballs. Steps were quiet but firm and even as he trekked purposefully through the building accompanied by only the even sound of boots upon the ground, navigating his way to what passed for a kitchen, though perhaps it was closer to a conventional break room than that. Certainly, he was fairly sure no one else thought of it as a kitchen and mostly just used it to lazy around or stuff their food into the crammed fridge space to binge on later or have stolen by another hungry member who didn't care a lick for who it belonged to. It was a nicer kitchen than most of them at least, Cygni being a prosperous enough city that he had something to work with. Generally, he had to bring all his own tools and had taken to packing a knife, cutting board, and hotplate into his supplies. He refused to submit to relying on the expensive garbage found in convenience stores and fast-food places like most, and if that meant he would have to always bring his own supplies, then so be it. Seth was always more than happy to come prepared. Better by far to have to bring extra gear then to find oneself with nothing or relying on others. Still, generally, Cyngi had something at least approximating an actual workspace and actual supplies. He usually was able to make something of it that he found satisfactory, even if the end result was nothing more complicated then a stew or some pasta with the occasional salad when lettuce was actually to be found. It was a relief sometimes to find that at least not everywhere was the only options another's opinion of "real" food and instead have some simple ingredients. Finding the room, Seth stepped in, lingering a brief moment at the doorway to see who, if anyone, might already be within, his gaze icy and features their fixed grim set. If no one was there, or at least, no one whom he found of note, which was indeed most of the fellow agents, he would continue to the fridge to glance within and start planning something to eat, investigating the cupboards to see what pantry goods or utensils might be available to him, if any. Taking inventory, he kept an eye on his surroundings, even as he mentally ticked off the options of what was available to him, becoming distant in thought. [/font]) Arc barked out, following along next to her trainer. It was one of the few times that the Growlithe showed something close to friendly. Soco followed in the back, helping his trainer bring the food in by doing some pushing on the transport. Lori was using a wagon, piled high with the fast food items they had bought. It was a good deal, especially when they found a whole collection of coupons. This morning they eat like kings! ( Hehehe I'm calling dibs on the first bite of the chicken.) Izzy the Petilil decided, hopping alongside her trainer and being the first to reach the entrance to the base. Lori quickly swiped them in, getting the others to quickly enter before someone annoying might try to stop them. Other members of Team Crux still haven't gotten to used to her existence apparently, but she made sure that the annoying ones don't make fun of her anymore. The little girl wasn't afraid of using force, especially if it meant getting what she wants. ( Come on, let's hurry!) Puffle pleaded, rushing down the hallway, only to stop in irritation. He was a fast one, concerned about speed due to his diminutive size compared to others of his species. The Pokemon stopped at the entrance to the break room, being the first to notice another person there. He let out a warning when the others approached, but they ended up deciding to have their breakfast here. " Hi!" Lori said, waving at the other person to make her presence known. The girl than began to move to the table, unveiling her food. Then she began to unload the dishes. The first to come out was a large bucket of fried chicken, made to feed a family. At the site of it, the Petilil jumped onto the table, already chewing on a drumstick while it was still resting in the bucket. The next dish to come was the mashed potato and biscuits that came with the family order. Soco easily grasped and ate a whole biscuit in one bite. Nodding in approval, he placed the extra large cheeseburger omelette on the table alongside the 10 stack chocolate mousse pancakes. Her Swinub sniffed at the pancakes as it seemed to be the safest one to eat, away from the wrath of any other Pokemon. Though he scurried away when Lori plopped the meat pizza in the last remaining free space. She pouted, looking at the mess of food and wondering where to place her two liters of soda pop down. " You guys, leave some for me," she pouted, seeing even Lili her lifelong partner begin to dig into the pizza. There was certainly a lot of food, but it was spread between all of them. The only ones not here had opted to not join in the carnivorous meal this time around. Normally they all ate quite healthy, especially since the limit of Lori's cooking skills was boiling for safety. However, the time to be ravenous and free had come! The perfect moment to gorge themselves on the worst things that humanity has ever made. The pressure's getting hard to take I feel the ice about to break [attr="class","quicklinks"]1017 words Even the petilil mang | [attr="class","technoscroll"] ❝ Hm, it seemed Seth was on his own... for the moment. Glancing through the fridge, he was satisfied to note the presence of some spinach and zucchini, as well as some mint squished away in the corner. A bit of deli turkey, pre-sliced and likely with some processing, but it would have to do. Tortilla rolls, surprisingly some hummus, though the presence of crackers stacked next to the haphazardly piled bags of chips in the pantry explained it. Frowning at the mess, Seth let it pass with some irritation and not a little discomfort, telling himself if he had nothing else pressing to do he would work on organizing it. A red bell pepper joined the other ingredients on the counter, followed by a wedge of red onion. It was missing something though he thought, hesitating as he looked at the assortment of items on the counter, bringing a tanned hand to his chin in concentration, his other arm crossing his torso to rest on his elbow. Before Seth could place what it was he felt he needed still to find before he could begin, the sounds of pokemon chatter catching his attention sharply from the hall outside. A glance, head turning slightly though perhaps not enough to be noticeable, his gaze silently watching the doorway, his posture tenser then it had been a moment ago but otherwise unmoved. There was no reason for the approaching group to be anything but another Crux member within this building, and while it was early yet, it was only to be expected someone else would be residing here and up already. A pinkish-purple form skittered in first, a small nidoran, of the male variation. Upon noticing Seth the pokemon let out a cry, likely to notify or to warn the others, seeming to halt in his tracks. Wary? Protective? It seemed tense but at a glance, he couldn't guess the cause and how it related to his presence. Close behind followed a person, the trainer by assumption, and a somewhat familiar face, though only in the vague distant way of knowing without having met. Lori, if he recalled correctly. She was young and newer, but beyond that, he knew little of her. By her side, a petilil and growlithe prowled and bounced, almost like miniature guardians, one fire, and one grass to compliment each side. Lori herself made a strange sight, especially within such a place as a Crux residence and organization, and for a moment Seth examined her carefully with a flicker of interest, though it was not the first time she had caught his eye. For one she was young, barely a teen. She was flowery and youthful, an innocent face with bouncy long pink hair and glittering violet eyes. She was small too, he had to bow his head slightly to tilt it far enough to look at her fully. But she was a strong and proud Crux agent nonetheless, and if what he had observed when watching her before, was carefree and giddy but determined and fierce. It was a strange combination, a seeming juxtaposition, yet there she was, smiling as she dragged bags of likely her breakfast, waving with a chirped greeting, here in the midst of a Team Crux base, completely at home with herself. It definitely confused the common principles that seemed to dictate the actions and attitudes of most people and broke most of the patterns Seth had found in dispositions and personalities. The sides did not seem to connect how they usually did, and she made a puzzling case that confounded him and interested him. If only she was less... chatty and... bubbly. He nodded, silently, in return to her greeting, letting his gaze return to his own small space of counter as he pulled out a Pokeball and released the pokemon within, a dove appearing on the counter beside his ingredients, ruffling her feathers as she shook off her sleepiness. Golden eyes immediately looked to him, a quiet coo of inquiry as Myst waited for his instruction. Seth, much like he usually did around those he was less than inclined to deal with, planned to ignore Lori and let her go about her business as he went about his. It was what he generally did, and he had little reason to change that, and little want to try talking to someone as... childish and talkative as her if there was no need to. But, a glance spared towards her and her group as he prepared his own assortment, and he paused in his tracks, his expression unchanged but his hesitation one of shock, perhaps, or maybe just disbelief. It was a veritable feast the small girl had managed to pack the counter with, all of it sickeningly unhealthy, dripping with grease and coated in fat. Not a single thing wasn't processed it seemed. Truly it was both amazing and disgusting. And, unconsciously, Seth found himself staring at Lori, trying to puzzle out connecting the massive pile of meat and fast food with the petite figure and their tiny troop. He found himself twitching slightly when he noted even the petilil taking up some fried chicken, and the golette packing down biscuits that looked as though they came from a quick mix or had been premade based on their quality and color. So this was the state of things now. His features turned in the slightest hint of a frown, Seth finally let his gaze returning to his waiting dove, giving her a task. "Fetch my cooking supplies." He had figured out what he needed but there was not much in the way of herbs or seasoning to be found here. And he would need his cutting board. He sent her off, the pidove fluttering as she soared down the hallway to carry out her task. Seth turned to examine Lori and her team as they started to dig in, the last of the pile of food finally crammed onto the counter. He crossed his arms. "That is beyond unhealthy" He stated, his rumbling voice deep and monotone. Savros | Lvl.5 | Swift Swim | Tickle, Splash Myst | Lvl.5 | Big Pecks | Gust, Growl, Leer, Quick Attack |

[/font] Lori countered, puffing up her cheeks in response. This was the solution they had agreed upon, until she learned how to cook, which probably won't be anytime soon. Seth "Ghost" [/ul]
