The deep resonating horn of the incoming ferry echoed softly over the salty sea air as the latest ferry from Sinnoh came in, carrying tourists and Trainers alike to Eridani City. A large group of them dispersed onto the docks, carrying goods of all shapes and sizes while the tourists made their way down to the city nearby. Except for one Trainer near the back, who seemed to be lost in a world all his own. A Trainer clad in a deep green ensemble, complete with matching pants and black dress shoes, was busy singing a catchy song he heard while he was on the boat while his feet seemed to carry him with incredible grace towards the docks. His sandy blonde hair caught the sunlight under the deep green fedora he wore, giving a flicker of gold each time his head swayed in time with the music. Once the dock was a bit more clear, the Trainer hopped down onto the dock in time with his song as something hopped down beside him. A familiar blue sea lion Pokemon, the little Popplio smiled and seemed to move in time with his Trainer. Tail swishing in time to the song, a multitude of small bubbles rhythmically popped out from its nose resembling music notes. It had taken the better half of the voyage to get them to look just right, but the little Fortissimo was quite happy with himself as he followed after his Trainer. "Ha ha! That's it, Fortissimo! Keep in time to the song and just feel the rhythm..." He then turned to look at the city before him as Fortissimo hopped up onto his shoulder. With a warm breath of air, he shouted loudly for those to hear as he wore a smile a mile wide. "Look out, Stellara Region~! Avery Amari's here to spread some Contest Battle Cheer!" ("And Fortissimo, too!") The little Popplio howled in agreement, clapping his paws happily while standing on Avery's shoulder. The Trainer turned to look at his newfound friend and laughed warmly, scooping him up into a hug for a moment before making his way down the boardwalk and letting the Popplio bound about beside him. And while he continued to hum the song to himself, things seemed to be going well for Avery's first moments in Eridani City and hopefully the rest of Stellara would be as wonderful! As our young Coordinator leaves the dock to embark on his latest excursion from his hometown Sinnoh, any of a multitude of new friends could come down to meet him as he's making his way to town. Perhaps someone sees a kindred spirit within this newcomer from Sinnoh? Perhaps someone appears to help guide him on his way around town? Or perhaps someone appears to cause mischief and try to deviate him from his happy-go-lucky path! The future is now, and with Avery Amari around, it's certainly going to be an incredible journey~! Just for reference on what you see on screen: "This color is for Avery Amari talking!" ("And this is for Popplio the Fortissimo!") And this is for the narrator voice everyone secretly hears in their head! Perhaps hints about how others could possibly interact with Avery and his Pokemon will be found here? It's up to you! |

 TAKE EVERY SINGLE TEAR FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR Senri wished he could be as energetic and cheery as that youth who seemed to have so little care for what others had thought of him. The young man was a couple of paces behind him, but even he could hear him singing loudly while others muttered under their breaths, not appreciative of the early day riffraff. He came from another boat that had come from Kalos, but before he could move elsewhere with less music, he realized that his companion, Hikaru, had disappeared. "H-Hikaru?!" he cursed as he quickly looked around before noticing that he had run off to join the singing...blue Pokemon. Oh great. He should've known that the little Minun would've been attracted to such happy tunes. Look at him, he was already jumping around and cheering. Pulling on his bag straps, he maneuvered through the crowd to reach the trainer that stuck out like a sore thumb. "Sorry about that, Hikaru really likes to dance." he apologized as the Minun happily jumped on his trainer's shoulder. "What did I tell you about running off without me?" he lightly scolded, mostly exasperated rather than angry. He took another good look at the trainer and noticed that a few bells were ringing in his head. Hmm, this guy looked oddly familiar, but he was pretty sure they had never met. What did he say earlier, something about contests? Ah! "Wait a minute, you don't happen to be someone from the Sinnoh Contest scene, are you?" Back in Kalos, he would watch shows about contests that were airing on TV. He was positive that this guy was one of the coordinators since his clothing was rather strange to begin with. "Oh, sorry, where are my manners? My name is Senri, and this is Hikaru." he introduced while giving a small pet to his Minun, "It's cool to meet someone else from Sinnoh, though I haven't been back there in a while." |

("Hey kid! We got some company!") The Popplio let out a small bark, patting his owner's shoulder as it pointed over at the Minun who had appeared out of nowhere to join them. Avery turned to look, smiling a bit as he knelt down to look at the little one who came over to join them.
"Well, hello there little one! And who might you be?" Avery grinned widely as he pulled out his Sinnoh Pokedex, opening it up to scan the Pokemon before him as it spoke up.
"Minun, the Cheering Pokemon. Minun loves to cheer on its partner in battle. It gives off sparks from its body while it is doing so. If its partner is in trouble, this Pokemon gives off increasing amounts of sparks." The Pokedex replied, showing a complete 180 turn around of the Pokemon as its owner came by to pick it up and lightly scold it. To this, Avery smiled and gently waved his hand a bit.
"Oh no no, not a problem. I should be apologizing, I'm often lost in my music sometimes..." At the mention of Contests, Avery perked up and nodded, giving the young boy a thumbs up. "You betcha! Name's Avery Amari, one of the top ranking Coordinators in Sinnoh. Nice to meet ya!" Once the boy introduced himself, he smiled and nodded, gesturing up to the Popplio on his shoulder. "This guy up here is my newfound friend here, Fortissimo." The Popplio smiled and stood up on its back flipper, placing its fins on its hips and smiling for a moment before returning to his perched position on the boy's shoulder.
"You really should, Sinnoh's got a decent amount of tourism going on over there right now. But me, I came out here because I heard there was a brand spankin' new region to check out and I wanted to bring a bit of my flair here to the people. So, I hopped the latest ferry out and here I am... now the question is now WHERE I am." Avery grinned, scratching softly at the back of his head with a small nervous chuckle.

I like your music~)" the little rabbit-like Pokemon cheerfully replied, knowing full well that the other person wouldn't really be able to understand him. He had no idea what kind of Pokemon the blue one was--it was his first time seeing such a species, but it seemed like he was older than Hikaru. When the other trainer pulled out the Pokedex, he jumped and said, "(That's me! That's me!)" but the cheering abruptly stopped when his trainer picked him up, making him pout. He didn't run off that far! He just heard music and he loved music~ Senri let his partner stay in his arms while he talked to the other trainer. Ah, so he was right. He had seen this person on TV before, and while he wasn't exactly the best of the best, his skill was to be reckoned with. "Nice to meet you as well." he replied with a small smile of his own. He then shifted his attention to the blue seal. "I haven't seen that kind of Pokemon before." Senri muttered as he asked Hikaru to pull out his Sinnoh Pokedex from his backpack. The Minun nodded and climbed up his shoulder, pulling on the zipper, and got the device before closing it. Popplio, the Sea Lion Pokémon. A Water type. Popplio can control water balloons, and works hard so it can make bigger balloons."Ah! So this is one of the starters from that new region, Alola. I've heard about them, but I've never met one before." interesting how a coordinator managed to end up with one of these rare Pokemon, but it looked like it was made for the stage, so good for them, he supposed. "Oh I know about the tourism, but if I were to go back I'd just visit my family. Haven't seen them for a while, maybe half a year already." he mused, "But I came here too because of the news about another new place to explore. It's exciting, isn't it? And well...I believe we are in a city called Eridani. It's the port city that all the tourists wind up in. I don't know about the other cities though." he mostly got that information from a pamphlet that he was given not too long ago. It should be somewhere stuffed in his backpack. |

"Yeah. Met this little guy while I was on the boat. There was someone passing out Pokemon to Trainers who were new to the Stellara Region and they had a rather nice selection of them. I took one look at the playful demeanor of this little guy and I knew he'd be a perfect companion." Avery then reached up and gently scratched behind Fortissimo's ear, eliciting a smile and a waving tail from the Popplio who eagerly leaned in towards his Trainer's hand. Avery then turned back to regard Senri and Hikaru with a warm smile.
"So, it looks like we're both kinda new to the area and both hail from Sinnoh... small world, huh? You should go and see your folks more often, they're probably wondering how you're doing... But for now, I say we explore a bit. No use standing here holding up a bit of foot traffic, right?" Avery raised an eyebrow, reaching up to adjust his hat a bit as Fortissimo turned to look at Hikaru.
("Your Trainer seems awfully nice! Try not to worry him so much and we could try and make more music while we travel...") Fortissimo smiled and hopped down off of Avery's shoulder, looking around curiously at the passing people and Pokemon. When suddenly... a deep growling noise erupted from the bellies of both Trainer and Pokemon alike as Avery and Fortissimo jumped a bit at the sound.
"... whoo! Nearly sounded like a growling Hippowdon there..." Avery smirked bashfully as he rubbed at his stomach, then turned his gaze back to the duo. "Hey, how's about we grab something to eat and find something fun to do here in Eridani? My treat!" His Popplio companion smiled and stood on his front paws, clapping his back fins like hands.
("That sounds wonderful! Count me in!") Fortissimo barked a bit, then turned to look up at Senri and Hikaru to see how they would respond.

TAKE EVERY SINGLE TEAR FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR "That sounds really lucky, actually. I mean, free Pokemon, wow." Sure the labs in every region did give out starter Pokemon to beginner trainers, but this guy didn't look like a beginner nor was he in a lab, he was on a boat. Sure wished that he could've gotten a free and rare Pokemon, but he supposed that it allowed him better customization of his team. Still though...an Alolan Pokemon. Wouldn't that be a treat? He had little idea on what kind of Pokemon were from that region and he could only imagine how it would change the competitive game. He decided to push his musings aside in favor of listening to where the conversation was going. "Yeah, and well, I don't visit them too often because of personal matters, but I think I'll go back after touring Stellara some." he answered, though he was planning to stay here for much longer than just a few days, "Oh yes, let's move to the side. At least the port is big enough for more than both of us." he said with a small laugh. Hikaru and the Popplio followed suit, where the blue Pokemon commented on how nice Senri was and something about music. "(It would be so cool to hear more about your music!)" the Minun beamed, "(But I don't know if Senri's okay with traveling with someone besides his Pokemon. He usually goes at it alone. Still, it's why it's always nice when we get to talk to other Pokemon--)"Hikaru's chatter got cut off by the loud growls coming from the other party. He was so surprised that he jumped back a little, but upon knowing what it was, he couldn't help but laugh too. Senri did the same and grinned, "Sure! Who wouldn't turn down free food? And it looks like this city could be as big as Jublife, if not bigger." they should probably walk out of the port soon if they wanted to see the restaurants and whatnot. He wondered where this boy wanted to go for food. He wasn't exactly hungry, but something to munch on did sound good right about now. |

"Well, all right then! Let's get going, shall we? C'mon, Fortissimo!" Avery called out with a smile, kneeling down to hold out his hand for his Popplio friend. Fortissimo smiled and nodded, waving his tail back and forth a bit before seeming to drop down into a playful pouncing position. Avery grinned and reached up to adjust his hat a bit as he saw this.
"Oh, wanting to try THAT again, are we? Well, okay then... Let's see if we can nail it this time." Avery readied himself as the Popplio clapped his paws happily. The little sea lion took off towards his Trainer with a determined smile, his little blue body undulating as he ran before he landed front paws first onto Avery's outstretched hand.
Then, with a grunt from his Trainer, Avery brought his hand up and launched Popplio into the air. The little Sea Lion Pokemon did a simple back flip in the air before blowing a large bubble in front of him. Placing his front paws on the bubble as he came back down, Avery took a few steps to the side with his other hand now outstretched. Then, with a cartoony "boing!" sound from the bubble, Fortissimo managed to land the bubble in Avery's hand without popping it as Avery tipped his hat to Senri and Hikaru, Fortissimo doing something akin to a handstand on the bubble as the little guy smiled. The bubble then popped into a small splash of water and Fortissimo landed on his hind fins with his arms outstretched much like a gymnast sticking the landing on a performance.
("... we did it! It actually worked! I got the bubble to stay still long enough!") The little Popplio let out a happy howl and clapped his fins together as Avery tucked his hat back on his head.
"Well done, buddy! With that, we're one step closer to our Contest debut here in Eridani. But first, let's get some food!" Avery turned to smile at Senri and Hikaru, gesturing with a warm sweep of his arm towards some of the cafes and smaller restaurants that dotted the seaside port of Eridani.
