PERSONALITY
Avery is a rather laid-back kind of guy. While he can have moments of intensity such as when a Pokemon or friend is gravely injured or is in need of assistance, often Avery has a smile on his face. Don't be too alarmed if he wishes to get a better look at your Pokemon, though. It is simply in his nature to wish to learn more about the Pokemon he meets on his adventures. Though, he will treat an opponent's or friend's Pokemon in this situation with the utmost respect as he would with his own Pokemon, often treating them as he would want them to treat him.
On the stage of battle or on stage in general, Avery loves to feel the excitement in the air, as he is often trying to hype up his opponent to do their best or an audience watching so they can feel the same energy he is. He can often be seen contemplating the best way to both deal with an opponent's strategy and also show the best of what his Pokemon and the opposing Pokemon can do! So, be prepared for an extravagant and incredible fight whenever Avery is your opponent!
That being said, however, some folks might find Avery's style and energy for battles to be either overwhelming or borderline childish. Often, folks of a more battle-bred background (those who were raised to treat battles more seriously and put more effort into making sure their Pokemon are in peak fighting condition based on their natural abilities) find the flashy and rather flamboyant nature of his style of fighting to be superfluous. Even though Avery can be fairly understanding of the desires to have a more straight-forward battle, repeated bashing of his style of battle will start to get under his skin or even depress him to the point where he will lose some of the luster behind his strategies.
In addition, as Avery often treats his Pokemon and others as well as he would want them to treat him, he often will find himself leaping in to try and help a Pokemon or person in peril if he feels that he can do something to help. More often than not, often putting himself in a great deal of peril. He has somewhat tried to strengthen his body so that he can endure more or strive to better help those in need, but even Avery will have his limits. And if he is chastised for being "reckless" or if he fails in his attempts, he will often feel a great deal of personal grief as he will often internalize his failures.
A final note, while Avery seems to hold a happy-go-lucky attitude and high energy on the fields of battle, there are rare instances where Avery will feel a bit depressed when by himself or alone somewhere in the world. Most times, he will simply let a Pokemon out just to hold them close in order to feel a bit of security in his world. He will often get flustered and very defensive if someone were to see him in such a state and question him about it, but he tries his hardest to not let it show if and when he can.
BACKGROUND
~Son of Maxwell and Delilah Amari, renowned researchers of the Sinnoh Region, typical semi-wealthy background scenario
~Often left at home while parents ventured out into the region to study Pokemon, sometimes for weeks on end leaving Avery home alone with the hired help.
~Gained a well-versed education through the various tutors his parents provided, often wandered around the estate to learn in his spare time. Learned how to cook as a hobby from both the chefs and the Pokemon there along with sewing and other small essential talents.
~First ever Pokemon caught was a Yanma (later named "Buzz") he encountered in his backyard garden. After playing alongside the Bug Pokemon for most of the afternoon that day, one of the tutors found him and gave him a Pokeball so as to officially catch his newfound friend.
~Other notable Pokemon caught by Avery over the years were a male Ralts ("Valor") who he found after it saved a Bidoof from going over a small waterfall, a feisty Gible ("Fang") who Avery caught trying to steal food from the garden, a Budew ("Belladonna" or "Bella" for short) with a bit of a romantic personality he found in Eterna Forest being heckled by several Murkrow, a stubborn Magby ("Chief") from the chefs of the mansion who owned a Magmortar, and a somewhat protective Cranidos ("Clancy") he revived during a small solo trip to Oreburgh City.
~Parents mysteriously disappear during one of their expeditions, leaving Avery with the estate and a decent fortune of money and research and a small episode of depression.
~Joined a Junior Pokemon League and rose quickly through the rankings, a League for young Trainers to prepare for the Gyms and Elite Four gauntlet. Was ranked third overall in the Junior Pokemon League for a year before resigning due to battle-bred Pokemon appearing to take the fun from battles (at least, in his own opinion) as he was on the cusp of second.
~Found his way to the Coordinator lifestyle, became a well-known Coordinator for two years and helped many other Coordinators get their start. Most notable for using 2-Pokemon combinations in his Performance Rounds of his now "Ace Team" from the various Pokemon he recruited from his youth, now fully evolved.
~Received word about the Stellara region and let his "Ace Team" get some time off to rest while he goes to investigate and hopefully bring some of his craft to the new region!
STARTER
NAME — Fortissimo
LEVEL — Level 5.
SPECIES — Popplio, the Sea Lion Pokemon
TYPE — Water
EGG GROUP — Water 1/Field
ABILITY — Torrent
HELD ITEM — None
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 1'4"
WEIGHT — 16.5lbs
MOVE LIST — Pound and Water Gun, Growl at Level 4. Egg Move: Aqua Ring
PERSONALITY — Fortissimo, much like his Trainer Avery, loves to be in the spotlight. This fun-loving Pokemon often likes to practice his various acrobatic stunts for those around him even if the reason is to try and make them smile. This little sea lion is brimming with energy, often found in a bit of an excitable state whenever it pops out from its Pokeball to either interact with his Trainer or when preparing for a battle. Though, if you purposely try and distract it from his performance or try to sabotage one of his tricks, prepare to feel his full force! Fortissimo has little patience for those who cannot take a playful poke or does not at least mildly appreciate its unique style. Perhaps that is why he and Avery work so well together? In any event, with Fortissimo on stage, you're in for one heck of a show!
