The One Where They Catch Up [invite]

Cyngi City was massive, and a bit overwhelming if Oliver was going to be honest. He sat at a table, three other chairs were around him, all empty for the meantime. The cafe everyone had decided on was a small one on the outskirts of the city, it allowed Trainers to have small Pokemon out if they wanted. Large Pokemon, such as Aerodactyl, were discouraged unless they were the only ones there.

He checked the time on his phone and set it back down on the table. An Omanyte clung to Oliver's sleeve, blinking and curiously looking up at his Trainer. Oliver smiled and patted the fossil Pokemon on the head, gaining a sound that resembled a purr. "They'll be here soon enough. If Gozu didn't stop for food along the way, he might be the first to arrive for once." The last time the two had met was in Eridani City, both had greeted each other once they got off the boat. Since then, Oliver had some various jobs and explored the region a bit more. Gozu had presumably done the same. The two went their separate ways after Enridani and planned to meet up again with everyone else here.

A thought occurred to Oliver that he hardly knew what Nina and Raoul were up to, and how much they had changed. He knew that Nina was pursuing her modeling career, which is why Cyngi City was the perfect place to meet up. It lined up with everyone else's plans and schedules too, so it was the perfect place. Raoul, on the other hand, hadn't talked much about his plans recently. When everyone arrived, it was going to be nice to catch up, learn about what they were doing during the recovery period, all that fun stuff.

Grabbing the mug of coffee, Oliver sipped on it quietly and kept scrolling through his phone. He hated that he had became a coffee drinker. Late nights at the lab over in Alola had turned him into one, it was a habit he was trying to avoid. But the brief burst of energy it gave was enough to convince him. He looked up once more at the busy streets, then looked back down at his phone. Bringing up the local news and tourist guide, Oliver started reading through them to pass the time. "Let me know if you see anyone coming towards us, Omni." He said. The Omanyte did something like a salute with its small tentacle, and scanned the area. Not soon after, it seemed like someone was approaching the table, and the Omanyte perked up and waved at the person happily. Oliver then looked up from his phone, eyes not hidden behind glasses, and smiled at the familiar face. "Long time no see. How was the trip over?"
