DONAVAN FLEUR
NAME — Donavan (Donny/Don) Fleur
AGE — Thirteen
GENDER — Male
SEXUALITY — Undecided
TRAINER CLASSES — Morph [Murkrow], Type Expert [Flying], Chef
AFFILIATION — Unaffiliated
OCCUPATION — Traveler
APPEARANCE
HEIGHT — 5'' ft
WEIGHT — 85 lbs
HAIR COLOR — Black.
EYE COLOR — Brown.
SKIN COLOR — Flesh.
ABNORMALITIES — Black feathers cover most of his arms and he also has a pair of black feathered wings on his back.
Because of his morph, Donny has to wear clothes that can accommodate his wings. As a result, his shirt has holes or well-made cuts on its backside, and they're tight-fitted so that they don't flap around wildly in the wind. He always has a small pouch with him to carry all sorts of things (mostly berries). He also has a pair of goggles to protect his eyes while he's flying, though he is used to doing without them in short and low-leveled flights. He has a single swirl tattoo on each of his shoulders, right above where the feathers start.
Move List:
- (1 PP) Astonish - This can be performed in a variety of ways: Donny can create a scary face (scary being relative), summon a dark shadow behind / around him to help him scare people, or at the worst case, he can let out a screech that comes in the form of red pulses.
- (2 PP) Pursuit - Donny enters into a heightened focus when the opponent tries to run away, chasing after them in an almost Quick Attack-like speed, or if he cannot keep up, he'll fire a dark crescent-shaped slash at the opponent using his arms.
- (1 PP) Haze - Donny puts his enclosed hand in front of his mouth, takes a deep breath, and then blows into it. Dark smoke comes out from the other end of his hand, similar to a smokescreen.
- (2 PP) Wing Attack - Using either his arms or wings, he can make them glow white as he smacks his opponent with them. It's a focused attack, so he can only do this on one arm or one wing at a time.
- (1-2 PP) Night Shade - Donny's eyes glow into a dark red shade as he fires a single dark beam from both of his hands. He can adjust the strength depending on what the situation calls for.
- (2 PP) Sucker Punch - Similar to Pursuit -- if Donny can tell his opponent is going to attack, his eyes glow a dark red shade and he can move almost instantaneously near them and deliver a well-placed punch. He can only do this in retaliation, however. If he falsely predicts, he loses his speed and can also easily lose focus, leaving him vulnerable.
PERSONALITY
Donavan is a naive, kind boy that basically just wants to be friends with anyone he meets. Having grown up in an isolated village, he has no clue about many of the technologies of the world, including Poke Balls. Most of what he knows of the outside world is from his bird friends, and so there are chances where he could name stuff wrong. Still, he's very open to learning, and wouldn't mind being taught the ways of Stellara that he had no access to prior to his escape. He's not afraid of approaching both people and Pokemon since he can understand the latter unless they're deliberately being intimidating or threatening. He sometimes doesn't understand more subtle social cues like metaphors and idioms though, so he often takes things literally.
Underneath this sunny personality, however, is a crippling insecurity of being feared and having to go back to his village. While this doesn't make him innately distrustful of people he meets, he can freeze up in crowds and can easily panic when people seem to start talking behind his back. He wants to show that his black wings are just that; he's proud of his morph heritage but doesn't have the innate courage to stand up to people who put him down. He is still just a kid, after all, which means that he has the tendency to be subdued with older people. He had been taught that age equals respect, though if he notices that they're doing something clearly wrong then he'll rebel against them.
While he does have a generally good moral compass, he does share Murrkrow's innate obsession with shiny things. (Most of the time) he does not steal, but he always keeps some kind of glinting object in his pouch to use as a means to calm himself down or to destress. He can get quite upset when he loses it, which unfortunately happens often because of his clumsiness and forgetfulness, so that's where he may or may not snatch a new one from someone else. Sometimes it comes from Uno's own pile and it leads to squabbling. Still, he's not one to hold a grudge against others, believing that there is some good in everyone and that mistakes do happen.
BACKGROUND
- Born in a village that is home to many generations of natural morphs, Donavan came from a line of Flying-types that had a tendency to leave the nest, so to speak. His father, a Staraptor morph, pretty much circled the world before deciding to settle down, but the family suspects that Donavan's Murkow morph came from the mother's side. The village houses both humans and morphs that live in harmony, so he has friends from both sides and does not see much difference between them. While the village is located in a secluded part of the Vaisera Mountains, they are aware of Team Crux and so have become more cautious over the years. Eventually, they prohibited children from leaving the settlement until they were much older. Even then though they were highly discouraged to explore the region.
- Donavan, however, managed to fly down the mountain before the elders got too strict. At the young age of seven, he decided that he wanted to see how the other villages were like, and so made his way to the nearest town, which happened to be Pavo. While morphs were already a known phenomenon, it still didn't stop people from being superstitious, especially because of his black wings. As a result, people were fearful of him, and a child even started to cry while pointing at him. He tried to explain that he wasn't bad, but no one seemed to listen. He ended up flying back to his village in tears and hasn't tried going back down ever since.
- But he has his father's blood in him--he couldn't stop thinking about the world outside, especially because of his father's stories. As he grew older, he later convinced himself that his experience back then was probably a fluke and maybe people were better now. Maybe they wouldn't point and gawk and have those fearful faces when they saw his feathers. By the time his mental wounds had healed, the prohibition had been set. For the rest of his childhood, he would spend some of it just gazing at the forest past the village border, wondering what the rest of Stellara was like. His bird Pokemon friends only fed on his curiosity, talking about buildings that scraped the sky and long plains that had little plants growing on them. He also heard about a wide expanse of water that seemed to stretch on endlessly; he made it a point that one of the first things he would look for was the "ocean".
- While Donny was friends with many of the children in the village, he was most enamored by the stories the birds would tell him day by day. At one point, a flock of Murkrow and their boss Honchkrow made themselves home in the village, but only for a short while. They gobbled a lot of the food stores and stole shiny objects, so the villagers quickly tried to shoo them away. A few were captured to punish them for their wrongdoing, but their leader made them escape for one. This particular Murkrow was soon revealed to have tried stopping his fellow companions from stealing food. He argued that while he sure loved to pickpocket a shiny coin every now and then, food was much more valuable and should not be hoarded greedily. When the flock left, this Murkrow was left in the care of Donny, whom the town knew had a fondness for birds. The two quickly grew close, though the Murkrow morph has to constantly remind his friend not to steal from the villagers anymore.
- When he turned thirteen, he remembered other flying types telling him that this was the usual age for human children to start their journey across the region. Feeling that he was more prepared and having faith in people changing their minds, he decided to sneak out of his home and head down for the first time in years. He hopes that things would be different this time around, and if not, well at least he has company this time around. He made sure to leave a handwritten letter to his parents about his trip, though he made sure to leave at the thick of night. From here on out, he was finally going to see what all the birds have been chattering on about, and maybe make some more friends along the way!

HELD ITEM — None
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 1'08''
WEIGHT — 4.6 lbs
MOVE LIST — Peck, Astonish, Pursuit, Confuse Ray (E)
PERSONALITY — Uno, as his name suggests, is Donny's first Murkrow friend that decided to stick with him even if his flock had already moved on from their little village. He is considerably weaker than others of his species, thus the Honchcrow in charge did not hesitate to leave him behind. Still, Uno tries not to let that fact get to him, feeling much happier in the company of his trainer anyway. He has a habit of stealing shiny things and keeping a pile in Donny's house, but to the boy's orders, he only scouts for stuff outside of the village boundaries. Despite his mischievousness at times, he's a loyal and obedient bird to whom he considers his master and prefers living a content and quiet life of thievery more than anything else. When he's not looking for his next swipe, he chatters with the resident Pokemon that are willing to indulge with him. As much as he does steal stuff, he hates his species' reputation as a sign of bad luck, and wishes to change that by showing his friendly side. At the same time, he argues that he only steals shiny things, and abhors swiping valuable resources to those that need it more than him.
