Camille stands at a pretty average height for someone her age. However her weight is pretty unusual, and is primarily due to her health condition preventing her from gaining much weight. She has a slim build, with a decent amount of muscle, but nothing too impressive. Her curves are not particularly noticeable, but she doesn't look boyish by any means. Her eyes are a pale purple, as a result of some fairly interesting genes running in the Debussy family. Her hair is a light shade of pink, due to her choosing to dye it around her early teens. It is naturally a pale blonde color, but Camille decided that she should attempt to differentiate her appearance more from her mother.
Furthering this idea of differentiation is her outfit. When she is travelling, she chooses to wear a relatively formal outfit, combing aspects of both male and and female fashion. Her top is a white dress shirt, and she wears a small black blazer over it. The collar gives it a sort of detective vibe, which she enjoys thoroughly. She wears a deep red tie with this ensemble, giving the official vibe that she enjoys. The bottom portion of her outfit is a simple black skirt, mainly since she prefers wearing it compared to pants. She wears some trendy black boots on her feet, with some simple white socks under them. Her typical outfit is completed by some black leather gloves, which she chooses to wear whenever possible. It shows people that she means business, which she almost always does. This isn't to say that Camille hates wearing more normal feminine clothing, but she doesn't like to when she is travelling. When she isn't going to be travelling, she loves the regal and poofy dresses typical of someone of her standing.
PERSONALITY
Camille is the definition of an overthinker. She is almost always in her own head, considering every possible outcome to the situations she is in, the justifications of her actions, the nature of herself, etc. She has unique philosophies on life and death that she is constantly developing, and constantly wonders if her ideas are truly profound or rudimentary. Given her capacity to think so much, its pretty unfortunate that she ends up thinking out loud so much. She often ends up monologueing to herself or the people around her without really even thinking about it. She tends to be pretty content with people understanding her thoughts though, since she doesn't tend to reveal any secrets when she is thinking out loud.
She comes off as very distant and aloof when interacting with other people. Even when people hear her talking to herself, she seems like she is in a different dimension from the people around her at all times. She seems cold when actually responding to people, often doing it in very few words. Part of this comes with her inability to empathize with others particularly well. She understands her own problems quite well and is constantly attempting to fix them, but she never quite thinks the same way about other people. She pretty much never seems to care about another person's problems, nor their feelings. She can be quite blunt, rude and sassy because of this, but she hardly ever does it intentionally.
Probably Camille's most defining trait is her emptiness. She has trouble motivating herself to do anything truly, and attempts to fill the void in her life by engaging in various pleasantries. Whether this be experimenting with different kinds of pretty outfits, training her pokemon, or reading books, Camille is constantly attempting to avoid the fact that she has no motivation in life or reason for being. In some ways, Camille is the ultimate coward. Her will is so weak that she cannot function as an actual person, and simply coasts through life in hopes of finding some mysterious thing called a "purpose."
In social situations, Camille comes off as a confident and cool person. She almost always seems to have a plan of what to do, due to her constant thinking. Despite her inability to connect to people very well, she still greatly appreciates their company. She loves seeing people smile, even if she is pretty poor at causing people to smile. She has a sense of humor, but it is pretty dark and satirical in nature. Camille is a natural intellect, and tends to show that off quite often. She is quite well read, and she will spend most of her spare time reading. Sometimes she can come off as a bit of an elitist, even if she does not intend to.
Artistically, Camille is all about attempting to express the bleakness within her. She constantly chooses to juxapose happy and normal lives with a type of hollowness, and playing up the absurdity of human life. Most of her paintings and drawings end up being of the Kalosian countryside or the city of Lumiose. When asked how she describes her paintings, she will often say, "A dream framed as a memory." Musically, she is somewhat similar. She chooses to play songs that tie more into emotion and imagery rather than concrete actions. She is quite experimental with her music, however she makes sure that all of her pieces are beautiful in their own way.
BACKGROUND
"All I want is to live a life where all of me is alive"
The Debussy family is quite a notable presence in Kalos. They have been around for countless generations, and were in quite the position of power. They were once the owners of their own duchy, when the feudal system still reigned in Kalos. Today they still hold their titles of Dukes and Duchesses, however now they are mostly famous for different reasons. Specifically, they are known to be some of the greatest artists Kalos has seen in recent years, displaying quality similar to the golden age of art in Kalos, and bringing meaning to it being the land of refinement.
Saying that Camille had a privileged childhood is an understatement. Her mother was a very famous musician, and her father was an equally famous painter. This is not even mentioning that they were the Duke and Duchess Debussy. They were blessed with extreme wealth, and lived in a beautiful estate near Lumiose. Camille had everything that she could have ever wanted growing up, and that began to have a negative effect on her mental health. She was never the most outgoing girl, so she didn't do all that much most of the time. Most of her time was spent attempting to combat boredom in her mansion, whether that be with reading, drawing, singing, etc. As is typical with Camille, every problem that she ever had was in her head.
Specifically, she had a growing sense of emptiness develop within her for as long as she could remember. She never really wanted to play with the other kids, nor did she dream of going on adventures with Pokemon like they did. Most kids were scared to talked to her anyway, mostly just due to her wealth and standing. Even back then, Camille was cold and distant, which aren't exactly the best traits to have when trying to make friends in grade school. Being a natural intellect, Camille found herself reading above her grade level extremely quickly. Specifically, she was being exposed to extremely thought provoking issues while she was in grade school. She adored the stories of people like cunning detectives or master tacticians, who could overcome the odds with the sheer power of their mind. Camille's aloofness made her question what she was even doing in school in the first place, and eventually her parents agreed to drop her out.
Camille's life experienced it's first major shock when she was ten years old. At this point, she was diagnosed with a deadly lung condition and she spent an entire year bedridden. She was given the best treatments that money could buy of course, but it was still not a speedy recovery. While most children would be fearing for their life or be faced with great sadness in her situation, Camille just wasn't. She didn't feel a will to live, nor did she spend time reflecting on her life so far. This horrified her. It was like she was never alive in the first place, since she didn't feel any different when she was practically dying. Being emotional didn't come naturally to her, but she tried to force it to. She wanted to be emotional, she wanted to be human, she wanted to be alive.
By the time that Camille was eleven, the disease had subsided to the point where it would affect her life minimally. It could never fully be cured, but she could live a relatively normal life with it in a dormant state. She still faced problems with fatiguing easily, having trouble breathing, maintaining a healthy weight, and a frequent, disgusting cough that would sometimes contain blood. Despite this, Camille was a girl with renewed purpose. She was given a second chance at life, and she was going to everything in her power to live. She didn't exactly understand how she would do this, but she was damn sure that she was going to find purpose. She forced herself to be more emotional, and tried to take up a life similar to that of her parents. She wanted to be a famous artist in her own right, and hoped that would be her purpose.
Her thoughtful and conscious nature led to some snags in her quest though. She would very often overthink everything that she did, trying to rationally think about what she lacked in her mind. This reached it's apex one day when she was playing in the garden with her mother. She was attempting to be more like a normal girl, and wanted to be kind to her mother in some way. So she found the prettiest rose in the garden, and picked it, in hopes of presenting it to her mother. However, as she thought about her actions, she realized something. Instead of happily giving the rose to her mother, she presented it to her while bawling her eyes out. She stole the life of an innocent rose, and begged for forgiveness. She thought about all the other lives that she had carelessly ended, like the lives of ants, grass and leaves. Her mother managed to calm her down, but it only left Camille feeling more hollow.
Camille's emptiness and lack of direction in life continued as she grew older and older. By the time that she was fourteen, she started to realize that her art wasn't fulfilling her as much as she thought it should. She needed something more, something that could make her feel genuinely happy. Her interests then shifted to the people her age once again. She had barely interacted with someone her own age since she requested to drop out of school when she was about eight years old. She hired some young people to be her "friends" for awhile. She didn't really talk to them much, she just wanted to learn about them. She followed them to various social gatherings, and attempted to learn about what gave them fulfillment. However, her plan was foiled when her new "friends" decided to leave town to travel on journeys with Pokemon.
She figured that this had to be the missing piece to the puzzle. She lacked genuine connections, and surely she could get something like that with Pokemon. She requested her parents buy her an Alolan Vulpix, and in the meantime, studied as much as she could. She read texts specifically about pokemon training, but also those with general info on combat, such as the Art of War. Camille studied countless famous generals and pokemon battlers across history, in an attempt to become the best at her new hobby. Eventually, she met her new Vulpix, and the bond between them quickly formed. Camille was looking to pamper and care for a Pokemon, and this Vulpix was extremely open to receiving countless hours of attention.
When she reached the age of sixteen, Camille knew that the time had come to leave home. She didn't consult her parents much on the matter, they knew that it was coming. She gathered up her closest possessions and set about for the Stellara reason. That decision was pretty easy to her, if she was going to do anything, she was going to be the best. She wanted to go to the hardest region, simply so she would receive the greatest challenge. She intercepted challenge as a necessary part of the human condition, and thus something extremely important to her goals. She wanted to be fulfilled, motivated and passionate about something. This was what she defined life as, and she just wanted to feel alive.

She loves adventure, loves seeing new places and loves meeting new friends. She doesn't really search for a purpose as much as Camille, as she is just happy to spend every day trying to be as happy as she can be. She loves a good battle, and tends to be quite the show off when it comes to her abilities. She is quite the beautiful pokemon, and she damn well knows it. She also loves to be pampered by her trainer, or just about anyone else for that matter. She is quite snuggly once she is on someone's lap, and loves it when Camille dresses her up in whatever pretty outfits and accessories she can find. Camille is her closest friend, and Noelle would do anything for her sake. Granted, she also knows how to get what she wants from Camille. Her puppy dog eyes are on point. She sees Camille as a sister and tends to treat her as such.
