In one of his foster homes, his foster dad didn't keep it to yelling and screaming. He would occasionally hit Tadashi and in some cases, he would hit the boy with whatever object he had in hand. He was always careful that it didn't show on his face or arms. His back shows several scars from these beatings. Luckily it is only on his back and he doesn't have to look at it daily. Other than that, he looks just like your average guy, although a smile is hard to generate on his face.
He doesn't really like to dress up, even though he would look pretty good in a tux. He hates tight clothes and prefers to walk in something he can be more free in. He almost always wears some sort of a lightweight jacket with a hood he can hide under.
PERSONALITY
Tadashi can be quite the loner. He hated when it gets too crowded. Besides that, he can be socially awkward. He’s not the greatest at small talk and is usually just a guy with not so many words. That being said; it’s not like Tadashi wants to be alone forever. Even though he is not fully aware of it, he dreams of having a family and people to care for in his life. He just never really had this in his childhood, which makes it really hard for him to connect with people.
Underneath his though act is actually just a soft cookie. He is not a quitter and always pushes himself and his Pokémon harder to become the best. Some might fight his methods brutal, but he would never do something that would actually really hurt himself or his Pokémon. He can sound harsh, but he knows very well what his Pokémon is capable of.
He absolutely despises Team Crux and all they stand for. He generally just hates people that would do bad things to others and would do anything to stop them. That is also the thing that gives him the motivation to become stronger; to stop the bad from hurting the weak. He had been in many situations before where he wasn’t able to help, but now that he finally has the freedom to do so; he’ll try his best at making a difference.
BACKGROUND
Tadashi has never had a simple childhood. He was left behind when he was a baby and went from foster-home to foster-home. He was one of those kids that always ended up in a terrible place. It happened a lot that people would just take foster kids in for the money, let them work for them and keep all the extra money for themselves. This has also been the case of Tadashi, one who had more foster-homes than he could remember. It took numerous homes before eventually, Tadashi started to act out, which made the family want to get rid of him. It wasn’t unusual for Tadashi to get beaten. He had a big mouth and wasn’t afraid to use it. Ignoring his foster parents' rules was what he lived for. Even though he had several foster brother and sister, he always felt alone. Once he had established a bond, it was time to move onto the next family. Nobody would keep in touch, probably because nobody knew where he would go to.
On a rainy day, Tadashi stayed outside, out of protest. It was pouring outside but Tadashi couldn’t care. He had a big coat on and sought shelter under a bridge. He was just about to sit down when he heard a crying sound. Not too far away, underneath a big tree stood a truck. Again, the crying sound appeared and it wasn’t stopping. Tadashi had quickly looked around but didn’t see anyone around. So he decided to take a look himself. In the back of the truck was a cage. Inside the cage laid a wounded Pokémon crying for help. By the look of the environment the Pokémon - Mawile - was in, Tadashi concluded that the Pokémon was being held captive. If nothing else, the lock on the cage door said it all. This immediately frustrated him as he looked around to see the owner of the truck.
It was quite on the street so Tadashi decided to take matters into his own hands. He glanced through the window of the backseat and spotted some bolt cutters. On the ground, he found a brick which he used to smash in the window. Luckily this car was so old, and probably stolen, that it didn’t have an alarm. Otherwise, Tadashi would be screwed. Quickly he grabbed the bolt cutters, broke the lock and carefully tried to remove the injured Pokémon from his cage before running off with him to a safe place.
Ever since that day, the two became best friends. Tadashi would go to school and then stop by the park where Mawile was waiting for him. They played for hours until Tadashi finally had to go home. Some cases he would grab some food, sneak out of the window at night and visit his friend again. One night things got so out of hand, that Tadashi was physically injured. Child protection services showed up and were going to take Tadashi away from them. Even though Tadashi wanted nothing more than to leave this family, he didn’t want to leave without his friend Mawile. Instead, he stole a Pokéball ran to the park and asked Mawile to go into Pokéball so that Tadashi could take him everywhere with him. And so he did without hesitating.
It has now been a good couple of years since the incident and after Tadashi turned 18 he had left the foster system to make it on his own.

PERSONALITY — Just like Tadashi, Mawile also didn’t have the best childhood. Because of that, he has a lot of trusting issues. During the years that he had gotten to know Tadashi, they established a real trust bond. However, warming up to others takes a lot of time. He generally doesn’t trust anyone, until they have proven to be trustworthy. He also doesn’t like it when other people or Pokémon get to close to Tadashi. Because of that, he pushes himself very hard. He knows that there are stronger Pokémon and more evil people out there and he wants to protect his trainer against them. But for that, he needs to be strong. This is what keeps him from never giving up and always going the extra mile. The downside of this; is that Mawile hardly knows what fun is. When he and Tadashi were kids, they played a lot. But since they’ve matured and started traveling together, they were both so focused on getting strong and better than they were before. As if they had something to prove to others.
