It was almost time for something big, and Toki expected that he would be roped into it somehow, so he decided it was time to add to his team. He hated his situation. He wanted to go and leave this all behind him, but where would he go? There wasn't a family he could go to, no friends who could protect him, and no other way for him to provide for himself. He was trapped. Even if he managed to find a way, how could he ever be free? By association he's guilty of so much. Would anyone ever believe that psychic triggers forced him into his work? It wasn't worth worrying about now. At this moment, all he could do was search for a Pokemon. Maybe that would bring some peace to him, if only for a little while.
The crowds of the city seemed busy preparing for something, so chances are he'd have to go searching in the alleyways for Pokemon wandering around. The types of Pokemon that lurked here were usually of the more mysterious or macabre, but that didn't bother Toki. His Absol, Lota, followed him closely, listening for anything that could be a danger. Many said that Absol were bringers of destruction and disaster, but even Toki knew they were simply the messengers trying to warn people and save them from said disasters. Toki had to pause and take a few deep breaths to calm himself, the thought of the misunderstanding angering him ever so slightly. When he felt better, he knelt down to pet the top of Lota's head gently before moving on.
The quiet the alleyways provided was peaceful, but Toki was savvy enough to know that it also hid dangerous types of Pokemon. He never once let his guard down, but still allowed himself to take solace that Crux was not watching him here. Whatever he fought here would be on his terms and no one else's. For a moment, he hesitated. Could he really subject another Pokemon to being with him while he's fighting for Team Crux? Force them to do questionable if not outright bad things? He clenched his fists and punched the wall next to him. Lota grabbed the hem of Toki's shirt with his teeth and tugged gently. Toki looked back at Lota and once more, calmed down "...I'm sorry, Lota..." he looked towards the darkness of the alley again.
