The Yanna Jungle's rich foliage and vibrant sound was a welcome familiarity for blonde girl traipsing through it with ease. It wasn't quite as dark as parts of the Lush Jungle had been, but it was far larger than Petalburg Woods in her naive Hoenn. The scent of decay, of the raw fresh earth just underneath the pollinating plants, brought a small smile to her face. It felt right to be back beneath a canopy of leaves to Shiori. Queenie, her Bounsweet, also appeared to feel a little at home, though her happy face concealed her vigilance. The forest was a haven for grass types, sure, but that also meant that birds would be about. Nasty, nasty birds trying to swallow her and her sisters whole.
"Well dear-heart," The blonde girl said, the massive pin curls on either side of her head bobbing with each step, "I do believe we have arrived." She didn't need to whistle, but Shiori did anyways. The innocent appearance of the girl and her Pokemon belied Shiori's true nature. Looking like a lost girl in the woods, the casual eye might fail to notice the surety she moved with or the glint of confidence that permeated the air about her. There were few things in life Shiori had ever been fully passionate about, and she was in the natural home of two of them: gardening for berries started in forests by the ancestors gathering them, and grass type Pokemon.
"Let's see how much we can grow our garden, shall we?" The blonde said to her Bounsweet, who gave a small yip of agreement.
(Strength in numbers means less chances of Toucannon eating me.) Queenie mused, (Or at least if we get enough friends we can fight them off.)
---- And catch thread start.
Pokemon on hand = Queenie, the lvl 5 Bounsweet. Oblivious. > Splash > Play Nice > Play Rough are her moves.

The girl and her fruit were richly rewarded for their time when, as they passed through a particularly dense section of ferns, they were treated to a somewhat unusual sight. A small Bulbasaur was being chased by a rather disgusting looking bug Pokemon, and though it growled at it and rammed it with a solid Tackle, the Heracross kept harassing it. Shiori narrowed her eyes slightly at the debacle. A filthy parasite that fed on trees was trying to suckle the sap from the juvenile Bulbasaur's bulb then? That simply wouldn't do.
"Why don't you pick on somebody your own size?" Shiori called out as she leapt from the brush. She cleared the distance in a few strides before coming to stand between the retreating Bulbasaur and the beetle Pokemon.
(Outta my way ya buncha floozies! Tha's mah dinner!) The Heracross buzzed at the girl and the Bounsweet.
As a grass type trainer, Shiori recognized the inherent risk of taking on a bug type with Queenie still so young, but she did have an ace up her sleeve. The disgruntled look on the Heracross's face and the annoying trill of his buzzed Pokemon speech simply made her smile drip sugar and venom. "I think you really need to learn a lesson about knowing your place."
(Oh...I'm gonna enjoy this.) Queenie replied, hopping down from her arms.
The bulbasaur, hiding behind Shiori's leg, called out weakly, (Be careful! He's so mean. He's been chasing me for my sap for days, ever since I left Mama's nest.)
(So you like picking on little kids, big boy?) Queenie called to the Heracross after the Bulbasaur's warning.
(Get wrecked!) The Heracross cried, darting forward with it's arms thrusting.
"Queenie, no holding back. Let's teach him how we Play Rough!" Shiori's cry was a declaration of war.
The Heracross wasn't the smartest bug in the box, not recognizing the attack decree for what it was as the Arm Thrust continued towards Queenie. She didn't side step the first one as much as she enveloped her body in sparkling pink pixie dust before hopping forward with a happy coo. The hip check that the Bounsweet delivered to the Heracross's abdomen sent the bug flying backwards and into a tree. It tried to stand up, but collapsed.
"One hit knockout." Shiori said before popping a victory pose. It was always fun dealing with people who underestimated her grass types.
(WOW!) The Bulbasaur cried, peeking out from behind the human's legs, (That was amazing!)
Queenie, for her part, turned back around and hopped over to the bulbasaur. The little fruit was easily half the size of the seed Pokemon before her, but the Bulbasaur stood there with stars in her eyes. Shiori knelt then, smiling at the exchange between the grass Pokemon. The Bulbasaur seemed a little skittish towards her until the Bounsweet hopped over to Shiori’s leg and received a head rub on the twirling sepals on her head.
(I’m only as strong as I am ‘cause I have Shiori backing me up.) Queenie’s voice oozed confidence.
(Mama always said humans couldn’t be trusted.) The Bulbasaur’s reply was hesitant.
(I’m not saying humans as a whole are good kiddo,) Queenie nodded sagely, (but Shiori’s not a rotten apple. She cares for me, took me out of my jungle where a ton of birds were trying to eat me, and helped me get stronger.)
The trainer watched the exchange with an easy smile. She’d never raised a Bulbasaur before, though she’d encountered it’s family a few times and the one before her had a smaller bulb than normal, indicating it’s youth. She used her pokedex to check out some more information and smiled when it identified the Bulbasaur as a female. Another little girl for the garden, perhaps?
“If you’d like to, you can come with us. We’ll keep those nasty bugs away.” Shiori told the Bulbasaur. “We’ll grow stronger together. What do you say?”
The trainer and her Bounsweet offered the Bulbasaur matching smiles as Shiori held out her hand. The Seed Pokemon hesitated for a second, but the memory of how the girl and the fruit had leapt to her defense just moments before was stronger than her apprehension. She released a vine from her back that met the girl’s hand in something approximating a high five. --- Capture Attempt! (Hopefully the story of this works for y'all) NAME — Posie LEVEL — 3 SPECIES — Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokemon TYPE — Grass/Poison EGG GROUP — Monster, Grass ABILITY — Overgrow HELD ITEM — N/A GENDER — Female HEIGHT — 2'01" WEIGHT — 14.9 lbs MOVE LIST — Tackle, Growl, Grass Whistle PERSONALITY — Posie's a very young Bulbasaur, only recently having left her family group. She's a little naive about the world and prone to crying fits when she's overwhelmed, often wishing she could be back with her brothers and Mama in the depths of the Yanna Jungle. She's beginning to idolize Queenie for saving her from a Heracross and, despite being physically larger than the Bounsweet, follows the fruit Pokemon like a lost puppy. She refers to Queenie as big sis and treats the Bounsweet's word like law, obviously using the fruit Pokemon as a replacement role model for her now distant mother. Skitterish around humans, she's got a ways to go before she fully trusts even her newfound trainer Shiori thanks to the attitudes her Mama instilled in her as a hatchling. Her experiences with the Heracross have given her a certain stigma towards bug types, though she remains hopeful that with Queenie's aid and Shiori's coaching she'll never need to worry about a bug type feeding off of her again. She hopes to grow as big, strong, and beautiful as her Mama so that she can help the jungle grow someday.
