the things that you might like don't grow inside of me "Treec- enough. I'm fine."Earning a very doubtful look from the Wood Gecko, Ryusuke's grumblings served to at least halt the Pokemon's rummaging through his suitcase in the next seat over. Ryusuke knew exactly what the Pokemon was looking for, and knew just as well that he wasn't going to find it. Their last antidote had been used back in Lacaille Town's outskirts days ago, specifically to ensure that Treecko had been able to fight at his best when they'd been jumped by a then wild Pokemon which now sat safely locked away in one of the Pokeballs on his belt. Closing the case in the seat beside his partner, Treecko would move to sit atop it instead while continuing to watch the human with an expression both of irritation and worry. Under normal circumstances the concern would've been appreciated, but after being stuck on a bus with Treecko constantly fussing over him Ryusuke's mood had begun to shift towards a far more irritable state between the long ride and the after effects of the poison. The clinic had done what they could to flush it from his system but that didn't fix the damage already done, and while Ryusuke felt significantly better than he did back then it still left him with a sore throat and the feeling that he was just starting to get over a bad cold complete with mild fever. A few more days, though, and the doctors had assured him that he'd see a complete recovery... not that it really helped in the meantime. He'd suffered far worse but that didn't make it suck any less in the here and now. Well, at least one of those problems was about to be fixed. Bus coming to a stop with a hiss, a voice would call back from the driver's seat announcing their destination. Wearily getting up from his seat with Treecko quickly hopping up to his shoulder, the blond picked up his case and stepped into the aisle before moving to exit the bus. What they found outside was quite unlike any city that Ryusuke had visited before as he stepped onto the sidewalk, pausing to let his eyes adjust. Cities weren't something that he was unfamiliar with. The school he'd gone to for a fair portion of his life had been in the heart of Lilycove, a fairly sizable city in its own right, and Rustboro had been another place he'd spent a fair amount of his childhood in. Slateport had been another that he'd seen and spent a week or two living in during his travels in Hoenn. None of them had been like this, though. The streets were packed with people, and the night was lit with the garish glow of neon to the point that it overpowered the usual streetside lights. Enough that it hardly helped with how Ryusuke was feeling, and it was enough that even after less than a minute standing on the sidewalk he could feel the start of a headache fast approaching. Taking out his PokeNav and flicking on the map function with the intent to find the nearest Pokemon Center as a place of potential refuge, the flashing lights managed to obscure the screen long enough that it took several seconds longer than usual to figure out what he was looking at. Pocketing the device and hefting up his suitcase as the bus started up and began to continue on its own journey, the trainer quickly made his way towards one of the smaller side streets that seemed to favor more traditional lighting and far less noise, intending to cut through and shave a couple of blocks off his path to the nearest Center. @tag |

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me Away from the main street, it was surprising how quickly the glaring lights and the din of noise seemed to fade. It didn't go away, not by a long shot, but it was dulled enough that Ryusuke at least found himself able to think again. Not something that he took for granted, although the street he and Treecko now found themselves on had definitely seen better days. The road itself was well maintained, no potholes or other such problems, but it seemed to swing to the other extreme as opposed to the main road. The streetlamps above did a poor job of illuminating it or the buildings that lined either side of the road, and a fair amount of litter had managed to catch around the bases of fences and other obstacles placed on the sidewalks. Whether or not it was residential, Ryusuke couldn't tell - there were no signs either for businesses nor house and apartment numbers, but instinct told him that it probably wasn't a smart idea to dwell there long. Shifting his shoulders slightly with Treecko repositioning himself atop them, the Wood Gecko would cast a glance off to the side as a flash of green made itself known near one of the trash cans before disappearing behind a fence as Ryusuke continued towards the other end of the street and the neon light beyond it. @tag |

WILD POKEMON SPAWN Rotom level five, genderless, levitate discharge, trick, astonish, charge, thunder shock, confuse rayPersonality: This Rotom is a particularly talkative and friendly pokemon, even to humans (although they probably can't understand it). Rotom is not particularly assertive, but constantly attempts to persuade its pokemon peers to go along with its ideas, however indecisive it might be. However friendly it may be, it has a tendency to come up with the worst possible ideas in any given situation, which can put it and others in danger. The tragedy of this is that it was a pokemon specifically raised with this in mind. It was a Rotom trained to be a saboteur by a sinister organization into trying to shut down a rival by infecting its computer systems to make their company make the worst possible decisions and get fallen out of business. However, Rotom simply can't help that, and is genuinely affectionate and friendly to those it sees as its partners. However, if Rotom enters a machine of significant power, it is rather highly corruptible, and can easily go out of control unless its trainer knows what they are doing. CATCH or PASS? If you want to catch this pokemon, simply detail the capture process in the next post.

the things that you might like don't grow inside of me Reaching the end of the street, Ryusuke paused again as the returning sounds and lights hardly did his head any favors. Glancing up to the street sign, the trainer made another go at pulling his PokeNav out with the intent of charting out another shortcut that wouldn't involve him having to deal with the chaos of Vega's main city streets. Thankfully the dimmer lighting of the side alley was actually quite helpful in that regard but it wasn't without complication, either. Spotting the glint of an electronic, something began to quickly and rather casually approach the pair from behind, Treecko being the first to notice the other glow in his peripheral vision. By the time he tapped Ryusuke's shoulder to get the trainer's attention, though, the new Pokemon was already on them. On them in every sense of the word. ("(Oh, hello! Don't see many of your kind out here. Not entirely a bad thing, though, neighbors can be a bit troublesome at times. How do you do?") Hovering uncomfortably close behind him, Ryusuke nearly stumbled back a step when he turned to face the new Pokemon with Treecko a hair's breadth away from striking it before the words were spoken. Already uneasy after the last encounter with a wild Pokemon, the blond found himself debating the prospect of fleeing into the crowd on the sidewalk beyond before noting that Treecko hadn't taken any action, simply staring the Pokemon down. And an interesting one it was, Ryusuke would give it that. It wasn't like anything he'd ever seen before, albeit definitely an Electric type with those odd volt like wings that seemed to stutter completely independent of the Pokemon's own quick, erratic movements. Glancing to Treecko who merely gave a soft shrug in response, the trainer started to turn back to face the sidewalk again. ("We're fine. You need something?") Treecko responded, rotating on Ryusuke's shoulder to keep himself facing the new arrival. It was difficult to say exactly what but something about the Pokemon felt decidedly off even in spite of its more than friendly greeting. ("Not at a- oh, that'll do quite nicely.") Whatever opportunity there had been for civil discourse would evaporate almost instantly as the Electric Pokemon caught sight of the PokeNav in Ryusuke's hand, and before either trainer or Treecko could react the thing would dart forward to dive inside the electronic and beyond the immediate reach of either. Ah, that'd explain it. The Pokemon Center? Not to worry, I can guide your way there. While the PokeNav itself hadn't outwardly changed, Ryusuke immediately caught onto the new scrolling text at the bottom of the screen - something which should not have been there as no such application existed to cause that. Given what had transpired a moment before it didn't take even a full second for the blond to add two and two together to figure out what had happened. "The f- out." The blond growled, gripping the Nav but just as at a loss as Treecko was on how to handle the new problem. The only response Ryusuke got, however, was both not the one he wanted and less than encouraging as the Nav's map was lit up with a line leading from where he was currently standing to the Pokemon Center he'd been heading to in the first place. The first and most notable flaw, however, being that the line led straight into the street ahead. One occupied by many, many moving vehicles going along at a fairly good clip. Having already lost two of his limbs to an accident earlier in life, Ryusuke only had a single word to say to that. "... nope." Nav gripped in his gloved hand and with one eye constantly on the device, text now scrolling across it and inquiring to his change in path as Ryusuke began following the sidewalk to the nearest crosswalk, the blond took a moment to consider his options. All of which were rather limited as long as the little pest was inhabiting the PokeNav - as a gift from his parents any action that involved damaging it to expel the creature were out of the question. As long as it was in there Ryusuke didn't see many options for getting rid of it. The Pokemon Center would likely have solutions, however, and if the creature wanted to tag along so badly.... well, it wasn't like Ryusuke couldn't trade it away later. Crossing the street at a safe intersection and continuing on for roughly another block, the trainer would finally feel a sense of relief as the Center came into view. His free hand rummaging through his pockets for a spare Pokeball, the trainer would walk through the front doors with a very specific request in mind for the staff behind the counter. @tag |
