Ugumi/Aspen Family Members
So, first off - would like to note that the below are largely ideas only. A place to get started, if you will. Much of what's written here may not be applicable anymore from long, long ago in a place very far awayshot but pretty much anything is open for discussion. The characters listed below, the ideas surrounding them - honestly, if someone wants to make something entirely new and different of their own creation to replace something below? Go for it. In fact, I encourage it. I like surprises and it's far more enjoyable to thread with someone else and their creation than a puppet with someone's hand up it. That said, please just contact me if you decide to go with something original since I've two of the characters from this family here and there is a bit of family history involved. With that rant over? Go nuts. No, really - surprise me.
Name: Shiori Ugumi
Age: 14 - 15

Occupation: Career Trainer
Appearance: Any FC, provided they have traits that could come from one or both parents. Red/amber eyes, blond/black hair.
Key Points: A career trainer from effectively the day she turned eleven, Shiori's life was fairly typical growing up - older brother and two parents. A lover of pranks and mischief in general, life has done little to free her of the teenage mindset. Close to both parents, although more notably her father, having picked up a number of his mannerisms and habits (namely screwing with people for the simple entertainment value and shock factor). It should be noted, however, that Shiori shares her mother's one track mind, her one major flaw being that the woman tends to overly focus on singular goals and long term commitments, often neglecting other aspects of life entirely in pursuit and failing to take changes in circumstances into account. While relatively fascinated by both parents' backgrounds, however, Shiori's goal ever since leaving home was to follow in her mother's footsteps as a trainer with the intent of aiming for a League Champion title.

Key Points: Taichi Ugumi's younger brother and Ryusuke's uncle, the man has had a somewhat tumultuous past. Raised in Sevii on Seven/Quest Island for the first several years of his life, the younger brother of the two was intended to become heir to their father's local business after it became more than apparent that Taichi would not take up the role - it wasn't until Taichi simply left home to pursue life as a trainer and shut out any chance of taking up the role that their father began to become increasingly strict and controlling to the point of abuse until their mother finally had enough, leaving her husband and taking Isao with her to family in Blackthorn. Having rather ironically done very much the same as her other son had, Isao's mother would take up the role her parents had left her, and after leaving home to tour Johto as a trainer for several years Isao would likewise return to Blackthorn to succeed her as clan head. Personality wise, Isao tends to be rather quiet, albeit a nurturing individual when possible, more than happy to help others when asked - by the same token however, the man is also very adept at recognizing when it will benefit someone's personal growth more to leave them to their problems. He is not without his scars, however - his childhood and father in particular have made him weary of relationships at best and he tends to keep people at arm's length as a result, and the very conscious decision to never have children of his own has left the matter of clan succession a rather sticky issue, particularly in light of his brother's refusal to take up the role himself.

Key Points: The oldest sibling of the four, and the first to leave home as a trainer. Hailing from a small foreign region, the oldest brother effectively left everything behind at the age of twelve and never bothered to look back, counting it as nothing short of a blessing that he'd gotten away from it all before tensions would erupt into open war nearly twenty five years later. Despite that, however, the man is not heartless - he looks back on his childhood with an incredible degree of fondness and is very close to family, if in only the emotional sense. A career trainer at best and a vagabond at worst, though, life has taught him that other peoples' problems tend to be exactly that, and unless someone specifically asks for his help it's often better to not get involved at all. Good humored and always looking for some form of entertainment. Rock/Steel/Ground specialist.

Key Points: The second oldest sibling of the four, and the second to leave home as a trainer. Covering something of a middle ground between the oldest sibling and their sister during her younger years, the second brother was always something of a goof or space cadet - prone to non sequiturs and seemingly random thoughts/actions, although with a great deal of intelligence behind it all. While his younger years were spent openly challenging Gyms and even going as far as to participate in a number of various League tournaments, the man gave up on going any further than that to pick up a teaching career at a trainer's school before he even hit twenty, managing to combine both his love for battling and learning into a single career able to pay the bills. While extremely close to his parents and the only sibling to regularly keep in touch with the others, the man's focus on his own home life and job kept him from traveling much until recently.

Unlike his older brothers and sister, the youngest sibling never left home to pursue the trainer lifestyle, instead electing to continue helping on their parents' ranch and continuing his education. Even after moving out and starting a family of his own, the man wouldn't leave their home region until the outbreak of war would force him and both extended/immediate family and friends to leave, spread out over Veria, Hoenn and Johto. Quiet and unassuming, the man differs greatly from his siblings in not only career choice but temperament as well, bordering on normal and a great contrast to the more eccentric personalities of his brothers and sisters. Holding commitment and responsibility above all else, the traits have served him extremely well in his education, employment and home life, although he has surprised people in the past with seemingly sudden and uncharacteristic decisions - not without reason, however, as the man is capable of interpreting his responsibilities and what best serves them differently, depending on circumstances.
