SAIPH CITY CONTEST BATTLE ROUND The Battle Round for the Saiph City Contest has now begun. In this round, coordinators will be pitted against each other in battles where they will have to best their opponents all while doing whatever they can in order to impress the crowd and judges. It should be noted that simply trying to win the battle is not enough; coordinators will have to be as technically sound, stylish and overall impressive with their battling as possible. Battle Rounds will begin with a introduction post and then each battler will post six times each for a total of fourteen posts, including the introduction post. Then, at the end of the Battle Round, coordinators will be scored based on their performances, and then the final scores will be announced! There is a 2 day inactive-in-character policy; if this rule is consistently broken, you will be penalized in your scoring. With that said, let the Battle Round begin! This battle will be featuring Primrose Astrida versus Leon Solis! The crowd is hyped; the judges are watching! Show everyone what you got! |

Let’s Prove Ourselves! Leon Solis Party - Ember, Choco
The performances soon came to an end, each show just as breathtaking as the last. Leon was sad to hear that so many of the coordinators couldn’t make it, but that wasn’t going to stop him from battling his heart out against his opponent. As Leon arrived to his side of the arena, he put a finger to his chin and smirked. This was the moment he was prepared for! Combat was where he shined, forever and always. It was time to show the crowd just exactly what a battle should look like between coordinators.
“Alright, Ember.” Leon whispered as he removed a pokeball from his belt and looked ahead. “You remember the training? We’re going to need every ounce of your beauty for this.” Leon looked to the judged and nodded, stating that he was ready without saying a word. The judged gave a thumbs up for his go ahead on reveal, which was swiftly responded with the big release. “Alright Ember! Spotlight!” The morph threw his pokeball forward, the red beam shining bright as it revealed a materializing creature.
Before the Quilava had fully become recognizable, a spew of black centered around it as it use it’s smokescreen to create a small gust. The gust span faster and faster as the pokemon on the inside did, creating a tornado of black smoke than rose to the room. “Let’s show them what they want!” Leon shouted, throwing his arm out to the side. The tornado reacted to his last word, flames bursting from the inside, embers burning up the tornado until the smoke itself was set ablaze. A flaming whirlwind shined before everyone’s eyes before suddenly bursting into shiny, hot embers across the stadium, revealing a battle ready Quilava.
“Time to shine!”

Prim felt the sudden realization that she was one of the ones to move forward. With glee in her eyes, she stood up from her little safe space and prepared to work valiantly towards the opening to the stadium. As she looked around, she saw people cheering her own which made her smile. As she raised up her camera, she turned it around and made a face with her tongue sticking out and made a peace sign. As the picture started to form, she shook it to see herself along with members of the audience beginning to really get into the competition. With 3 waves to the audience, she reached down for to pokeballs as they enlarged in her hand. As she pointed them at the ground, she saw 2 beams of red light go outwards and form 2 pokemon. With a smile, she petted Mina, and Sera as she braced them to get ready. With one final embrace, she let them walked towards the field where she held her breath to the point that she was turning blue. With a look of anxiety in her eyes, she looked back down at her camera and remembered her mom. She could picture her mother standing right in front of her saying, "Don't worry sweety, you will always be my perfect little butterfly no matter what." With a large smile of confidence on her face, she punched a fist into the air and screamed, "Let's do this!" With cheers from the audience and her pokemon, she was starting to regain herself and decided that it was time for her to make something beautiful.

The Battle Begins! Leon Solis Party - Ember, Choco
Leon watched as Primrose kept her entrance ather small, which was understandable, not everything had to be grand. Well, normally it wouldn’t be, but Leon always went all out. Now that he’d produced one pokemon, he hand to present another one, since the announcer declared it a double battle and he hadn’t been paying too much attention. Leon simply nodded and held out a pokeball with a pink heart sticker on it as a smile grew across his face. “Okay Choco! You two!”
There was a whizzing sound as the pokeball was tossed into the air, the glow as it opened being pink instead of blue. The pokemon inside of it was a chocolate colored Swirlix that was surrounded by hearts from when the heart seal’s power. With the hearts, came a wave of fairy wind that carried the hearts away to the audience in a pink spiral. Soon enough, Choco and Ember were side by side, both smiling big.
“Choco, no tricks! This is the big deal here!” “Swiiiirl” (Yeah, yeah, Dad) “And Ember, always believe in yourself, even if you mess up” “Q-qu! Quil!” (O-okay! Right!) Leon adjusted his tie, shifting the base left and right before throwing a finger out. “Primrose! Fight well and fight with beauty and passion! I hope you’re ready because here I come!” The Morph threw his hand into the sky, a spotlight shining down on him before suddenly shooting the open palms into a balled fist. “Alright guys, let’s show them exactly how we do it!”
“Alright! Choco! Start us off with fake tears! A lot of them!” Leon shouted, throwing his fist forward into another open palm. On command, the chocolate colored Swirlix began to cry rather powerfully, the glowing tears shooting up into the air and falling down gently as if to make a rain affect. “Alright Ember! Use ember!” Leon said, shooting his eyes away with the awkward naming coincidence. “Aim it at the ground!” “Lala!” (Yessir!) The Quilava took a deep breath, a mighty spout of flames forming in the mouse pokemon’s mouth. Soon enough, the fire-type threw forward the flamed, aiming for the ground as a snake of fire pillared it’s was to the enemy.

Looking back at it now Prim could just remember the determination her pokemon had in the training. It was truly inspiring for Prim and although she knew that on the outside they weren't much, they were the most driven creatures out there in Stellara. As she listened to the cheers of the audience, combined with the speech from Leon she got fired up as she called Sera and Mina to the middle. As usual, Sera walked as elegantly as possible while Mina was full of energy and more or less skipping her way there. It was beginning to get serious as her competitor brought out his pokemon which oddly seemed to be like yin and yang with the fire and ice combo. With a smile on her face, Prim brought out her camera and took a picture of them together, fully capturing the essence of both. The light of the flames glistened off of his ice cream like pokemon as it's cold air around it completely went around Leon's flame type pokemon. It was the perfect picture and Prim was sure to give it to him after this competition. For now, though it was time to battle as a countdown appeared on the massive screen near them. As it reached down to one, her competitor was quick and made the actions of her pokemon clear. The fake tears coming from the ice typed pokemon seemed to let the guard of Mina and Sera down. Sera, however, wasn't too shaken due to her colder affections for others. As she was trying to shun the other pokemon, she got hit by ember from the other pokemon on the field. With a loud bark, Sera replied with, "Fenne fenne-kin!"(I am a star, so don't you dare get a scratch on me!)
While the combo from Leon's pokemon was happening, Prim looked around with her camera for weaknesses in his tactics. She tried looking and found a weak spot right on the side of the swirlix. It was wide open and Prim was about to take advantage of that. Using her training with Mina, Mer took a photo of the weak spot on Swirlix and nodded towards Mina. With a nod back, Prim knew that her little Mina was ready so she threw it in the air. As Skitty caught a glimpse of the photo, Prim yelled out "Use ember on the photo Sera and then hit it at the right spot with tackle Mina." As they both yelled in determination, Sera used ember on the photo as Skitty took one glimpse of it. As she used tackle on it, the fireball went straight for the swirlix. Taking the perfect picture, Prim clicked the button her camera to present the fireball looking like an asteroid while the photo was burning on the inside of the flame without end.

Tackle is used on the photo which adds the damage from tackle to the photo

Oh Heck! Leon Solis Party - Ember, Choco
The wall of fire hit the Fenniken easily, as she had not made an attempt to escape. Leon couldn’t help but smile awkwardly as the small creature shouted at the Quilava. I mean you’re not a star just yet, but whatever… The Quilava, however, just stared in confusion. “Qui-qui? Lava!” (A star? Never heard of you.) A snapshot caught Leon’s eye, encouraging a glance from him. His opponent was taking pictures of the battle, or more specifically, of his team. What was she planning?
His question would soon be answered. Primrose had tossed forward the photo forward, in which the Fenniken responded by setting fire to it, creating a ball of fire energy. The Skitty shot forward and landed a headbutt on the fireball to send it forward, which Leon couldn’t help but smile at. Condensing an ember attack in a fireball must take a lot of focus and would typically require a fire type to keep it together. The fireball travelled rather quickly to the Swirlix, who wasn’t paying attention, no surprise there. It was going to hit the small being right in the back, had it not been for Leon’s keen wits.
“Ember, quick attack on the fireball!” The mouse ‘mon shot forward with crazy speeds and slammed the head into the ember, sending the fireball upwards and exploding under the quick attack’s power. Leon put a hand to his chin and admired the handiwork before looking at his Quilava, who was still mid-jump. Upon landing, the Quilava took an offensive stance and the Swirlix opened her eyes, blinking with her tongue hanging low. “Bweh Sweh?” (What’d I miss?”) “Choco! Round!” “Swaaa…” (Nothing, it seems…) The chocolate colored Swirlix took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment before opening her mouth. With the command of round, the small creature began to sing, physical sound appearing before the eyes, circling the enemy Skitty.
Before the kitten creature could escape, a sound rang from behind the Swirlix. A pew of black smoke shot out from behind it. “Smokescreen! Nice call, Ember!” The Quilava made a nod with the black smoke surrounded the skitty, which, if successfully hit, would get in her eyes and prevent her from being as focused, making it easier for Leon’s pokemon to avoid attacks. The swirling song gathered a spooky tone as the arena floor was met with a familiar black fog from the smoke. It was almost like a graveyard had come to be! “Now! Hit ‘em hard while they’re distracted, Choco!” Leon called out, the round moving in to hurt the Swirlix. There was no escaping this one.
OOC: just gunna... also the ember from last round did moderate damage, forgot to say that
Round Used! Aimed to hurt Skitty! +Perfect Opportunity to make it unavoidable! Deals Moderate Damage!
Smokescreen Used! Aimed to hurt the accuracy of Skitty, as well as bonus effects!

As she looked at the photo made fireball, Prim felt her breath taken away as she saw it being taken out by the Quilava's tackle. As she looked around she saw some people gasp as she felt completely heartbroken. She felt so good about her plan and then it was just destroyed in one second. As she felt her heart pained, she realized something...the arena was made into something extremely beautiful. What Leon didn't account for, was the beautiful red colored rain that came done over the stadium as the ashes of the fireball came down. What was created was a beautiful scenic area that was almost breathtaking. So breathtaking in fact, that it wasn't a moment that couldn't be shared by photo but instead by memory.
As this happened, Mina and Sera danced around the stage which was very gladdening for Prim. Not only was her pokemon having fun, but they were creating an energetic and happy atmosphere in the stadium. Sadly, all of that was about to change as Leon made some demands from his pokemon. His Swirlix seemed to be charging up some sort of sound blast. As it went through the air Prim yelled out to Mina, "Mina, trust me...I promise this will not hurt. All I need from you is to stand there and use sucker punch on the ground. Please trust me I beg of you!" With that Mina hesitantly looked over at Prim as she looked with eyes of fear at Skitty hoping she would listen. After a few milliseconds Skitty said to Prim, "Skit!"(Okay!) As Mina said this she jumped up into the air a tiny bit and used sucker punch on the ground. As Prim looked over at Mina, a wall of sand jumped up around Mina as the Swirlix's attack hit along with the smokescreen from Quilava. As the moves collided, the smokescreen formed around Mina and sort of circled around her as it turned into the shape of a flower bud.
While the smoke was still going Prim yelled out to Sera, who was behind the smoke and said to her, "Sera use ember in a straight line towards the ground. Really heat it up and get us started." As Sera did this, a huge wall of dust formed in a line in front of the wall of smoke. Hoping this would be enough, Prim yelled out to Mina and said, "Mina run as fast as you can towards an enemy and get to someone as fast as you can and then hurry up and use tackle before they can get away." With some confidence left in herself, Prim hoped that she could pull this off.
Mina used sucker punch on the ground to create some sort of shield of sand around her to block partial damage(due to Swirlix being 10 levels higher) from Round and to shield herself from Smokescreen. Used Inspiration on Mina to increase her special defense, which turns round into minimal damage.
Ember used on the ground for some sort of cover(not blocking just hiding) for Mina. This cover is just basically a cloud of smoke and dust to hide Mina within it.
Mina runs towards Quilava and uses tackle in order to deal moderate damage. Perfect opportunity to make it unavoidable.
