Sun and sand was what she asked for and that's exactly what she was getting. When asking a local she guessed she really should have specified that she wanted a beach and not the stinking desert. "What kind of person would think I'm asking for a desert over a beach!" Zhee groaned under the shade of her large sun hat. Rin the Sneasel sat on top of the girl's backpack, laying back against Zhee's back, also under the shade of her hat. ("Idiots, clearly.") The Pokemon thought that this was much more entertaining than a beach, anyway. After all, who could take a wrong turn into a desert and get lost? Zhee, apparently.
So Zhee continued on her merry, very lost way in her white tank top and denim short shorts. She had brought flip flops along but the sane was too hot so now she was stuck getting her nice walking shoes completely coated and covered in sand. "We should stop and eat soon.." The blonde patted her stomach as it growled. ("Sounds good, I want a piece of this round fruit you bought.") "It's called a watermelon, for the millionth time, and you can have SOME not ALL of it!" Rin smirked to herself. Of course she knew what a watermelon was, but annoying Zhee was way too much fun.
"Now, if only we could find some..." Zhee paused as she panted. Walking through sand was a better workout than most people thought. Zhee took a second to catch her breath as she looked around, and something in the distance caught her attention. She squinted, making out some kind of vertical plant of something, underneath of it was - "Shade!" With a smirk, Zhee began making her way toward what she thought was sanctuary from the blasting desert heat.

Cecile decided on a better idea though, she went straight to the desert to enjoy herself. Especially now that she managed to have more than one little dog to take care of. Somehow her team had expanded to more than one, which was a hell of a lot more than she ever took in during her Johto years. With consideration to all her Pokemon, she wanted to have some fun that the others will enjoy. What better than a picnic? Everyone knows that when you want sun, the best place to go was the desert.
Originally Cecile thought it was just going to be just her fire and rock types, but after the insistence of her Wailmer, she had brought the Pokemon along as well. Somehow Karaage and Juice decided to tag along, the Bounsweet had tottered forward, trying to follow her. Karaage was rather attached to the newest member of the team. The little visit had ended up becoming a vacation outing with practically everyone.
"Phew, it sure is hot out here," Cecile remarked, fanning herself. Even in a two piece swim suit, with plenty of sunscreen, it sure was heated even under the umbrella. Her Salandit was busy investigating the area, picking up rocks or dead shrubbery back to Cecile, perhaps expecting the woman to carry them back. Her Houndour was busy sniffing around, but generally rather happy under the heat. While Steak the Tyrunt had decided to half bury his body in the sand and bake. Cecile wondered whether it was possible to cook an egg on the Tyrunt's hide if he continues resting in the sun.
"Don't go too far!" she warned her Pokemon, before opening a magazine. The shade under the umbrella was wonderful, though it was mostly taken up by her Wailmer. It was only when her Swablu began pecking at her Bounsweet, did she have to step out onto the burning sand in her sandals to protect the Pokemon. It ended up with Cecile holding the death wishing Pokemon in her arms, while Karaage parked and rested on top of her head.
"Now where did Flambé go?" she asked losing track of one of them. The Pokemon had gotten a bit off, not quite paying attention where, until she had come across another human. She looked up at the trainer and their Sneasel, letting out a warning while flapping the back of her spine before scurrying back to where her trainer was. She was a cautious Pokemon, but also one of opportunity. The Salandit now had her eyes on the trainer, wondering if there was something valuable to snag for her collection. | © seadra of gs |

The blonde breathed heavily as she dredged toward the sight of shade, her skin sticky with sweat. After a few more minutes, the trainer had to stop again to catch her breath and rest. The Sneasel who was leaning against her trainer's back peeled herself away from the sweaty human. ("Oh, yuck! Now I've got your nasty sweat all in my fur!") The weasel groaned as she smoothed the fur on her back with a clawed paw. "You're the one who is leaning against me! Maybe I wouldn't be sweating so much if you weren't so heavy!" ("Hey, I'm not the one who got lost in the desert.") "We shouldn't even be in the desert! I asked for a beach!"
As Zhee and Rin argued, a Salandit scurried across the sand toward the pair. The trainer let out a tiny gasp, her heart nearly jumping into her throat. "Oh my god, aren't you the cutest thing! A Poison-type, too! Oh man, maybe coming to this desert was just meant to be!" Zhee reached back to grab a Pokeball when the Salandit hissed and flapped her tail about aggressively before darting off through the sand like it was nothing. "Wait, don't go!" She called out, watching the Pokemon make a quick escape toward the shade she had seen earlier, and now that she was closer Zhee could make out more in the bright distance. The girl squinted, making out what looked to be a human with a crazy hairdo. The shade she had seen was a huge umbrella, and from here it looked like there was a huge blue ball under the umbrella?
The blonde closed her eyes and shook her head a bit.. Maybe the heat was getting to her head, and if that really was shade over there she was in dire need. Zhee continued marching forward, following the path that the Salandit made in the sand. As she got closer it became clear that it truly was another human standing out in the sun. Which meant.. "Dang, the Salandit isn't wild..." She sighed, disappointed, but hoped this person would be nice enough to shade the tiny oasis. It definitely was female, it seemed like she was wearing a swim suit... I guess here is as good of a place as any to tan? Her crazy hairdo appeared to be a bird Pokemon perched on top of her head, and that shape under the umbrella... Was that a Wailmer?
"Uhh, hi there! My name's Zhee! I've kind of lost my way and saw your umbrella from a distance... You're a real person, right? I'm not hallucinating?" The blonde trainer panted, out of breath again and man did she hope she wasn't going crazy. In her exhausted state there was no way Zhee could act unpleasantly toward this person, since she was good as dead without this woman's shade. Even though she looked like quite the kook in her two piece swim suit in the middle of the desert... Maybe Zhee wasn't the only one who thought this was the way to the beach.
Rin stood up on Zhee's backpack, placing her clawed paws on either shoulder and peeked around to look at the scene from under the protection of her trainer's huge sun hat.

An intruder would be an overstatement, but it was enough to catch Hotdog's attention. Cecile was feeling just a tad too lazy to care, only bothering to look over at her riled up Houndour. Hotdog had always been a rather shy Pokemon, he always seemed to act tougher than he actually was. She took a moment to glance over at her Salandit, but as soon as her eyes fell onto Flambé, the Pokemon quickly scurried, running under her seat to hide. She vaguely understood that the Pokemon caused some sort of trouble, but she couldn't be bothered to do any damage control under this heat.
When the stranger did approach the group, Hotdog was the first to charge forward, letting out barks and threats in an attempt to protect his trainer. (Intruder! I won't let you hurt Cecile! You better back off and go away or...or, I'll bite! I'll bite you hard!) he threatened, baring his fangs to show his teeth. However as soon as the woman got within reach, he would scurry backwards to threaten some more. Occasionally he would glance back at his trainer, practically begging for an order, but sadly Cecile was preoccupied by a book. This woman had no sense of self-preservation, though all her Pokemon knew this. Flambé had been watching the whole ordeal, rolling her eyes at the lack of effect, she won't get to search the stranger's bag at this rate.
By the time Zhee reached the umbrella, Hotdog was getting pet in an attempt for Cecile to calm the Pokemon down. It worked, only earning the other trainer an intense glare from the Houndour. The situation would be more accurate to say that the Houndour was pouting or sulking at the lack of his effect. Perhaps this will change when he evolves, but that wasn't anytime soon. At the woman's introduction, Cecile tilted her head to look up, placing her Bounsweet down. The Pokemon tottered away, attracting Karaage to fly after it, pecking at the Pokemon when she got an opening.
"Nice to meet you Zhee, I'm Cecile and no I'm not a hallucination. Although we are in an outing of sorts," she smiled, noticing the watermelon that the woman had. What a strange lady, carrying a heavy fruit like that out to the desert.
"Come in, come in, the sun is rather nasty around this time of the day. Feel free to use the shade," Cecile, waved towards the underside of the umbrella. Noticing that there weren't nearly as much room thanks to her Wailmer, she got up, patting the side of the Pokemon. "Now dear, we need to make some extra room for our guest," she stated, the Pokemon letting out a cry in agreement, before she returned the Pokemon into their Pokeball.
"Would you care for something to eat?" she offered, considering the time it was perfect to actually cook the meat. She called for Steak to return, the Tyrunt running over to his trainer before settling down just outside the shade. Cecile hummed as she wiped the sand off the Pokemon, before taking out her marinated meat and placing them on top of the Tyrunt. The meat quickly began sizzling, distracting her Houndour by the smell. Hotdog began to wag his tail in anticipation, but paying enough attention to shoot out some Ember at the Tyrunt to keep the meat cooking whenever Cecile directed it.
"Wonderful weather, isn't it?" she commented, turning to attention at the trainer. "Would you like some juice, unfortunately I don't have anything to cool it," Cecile pouted, sad that she doesn't have an ice Pokemon to help.

Zhee was too weak to react to the Houndour that rushed at her, his teeth barred. He barked his warning to her, telling her not to hurt Cecile. "Cecile?" She repeated under her breath. Ah, that must be his trainer, the strange lady over there with the bird on her head. Zhee gave Hotdog a gentle smile as she continued forward toward the shade, mostly because she found his threatening display adorable. "You have some pretty teeth, there, handsome." She commented as he backed away toward his trainer, who only lifted her head once Zhee introduced herself.
Cecile pet the sulking Houndour whose threatening display did nothing to stop Zhee's approach. She also had a Swablu perched on her head and a Bounsweet who she set down, causing the Swablu to float after it. Jeez, this lady had nearly a full team with her! She introduced herself as Cecile and explained that she and her Pokemon where there for an outing. Why an outing in the middle of the desert? Zhee wouldn't know, but she wasn't exactly in any position to judge, since she was only here because she got lost (again).
To her relief, Cecile invited her under the shade. The woman returned her Wailmer to it's capsule to make room, and Zhee quickly made her way under it. The difference in temperature was truly amazing. Her sun hat had definitely helped but it didn't even come close to comparing to the cooling power of this umbrella. "Thank you, I might've been a goner without somewhere to rest." The blonde wiped her forehead as Rin hopped down from her perch, landing in the sand beneath the shade. Zhee set the watermelon down to get a beach towel out from her bag, which she spread out and plopped down on and began removing her sand-filled shoes.
Cecile spoke up again, this time offering food. "That's kind of you. I dragged this stupid watermelon all the way here, the least I can do is share it." Zhee began retrieving plates and a large knife from her bag to begin cutting up the watermelon, but before she could start she watched, wide-eyed as a Tyrunt removed himself from the sand and ran over, staying just outside the shade. Cecile proceeded to begin cooking meat on the flat part of the Pokemon's head and Zhee reached out to nudge Rin with her elbow, keeping her eyes on the scene. "You're seeing this, too, right?" She whispered to Rin. The Sneasel poked the woman's arm with a claw. "Ow!" Zhee said, looking at the small cut as a few drops of blood dripped out of it. ("Guess you're not dreaming.") "Gee, thanks."
The pair turned their attention back to Cecile who mentioned the lovely weather. "Ah, yeah... It's much nicer from under here." Zhee half chuckled, making herself busy with cutting the watermelon into slices. The woman soon mentioned juice, which sounded lovely, however there was no way to cool it. Zhee was quiet for a moment before turning to look at Rin. "Ah, Rin can at least cool our glasses. She can't make ice yet, but a cool glass is better than nothing." ("Why exactly are you volunteering me?") Rin protested, but Zhee handed the weasel the glasses. "Just blow on them and make them cold." The blonde would receive a glare from her own Pokemon who would begrudgingly blow cold on the glasses to cool them.
Zhee separated the watermelon slices onto plates and reached out to offer one to Cecile. "Here you are."
