CAPTURE 002: Wispy Outskirts

Of course I'm going to catch it Lou is going to flip.

Male, please! With Intimidate~ I'm gonna go for a staff made personality just because it's shiny.

There weren't a lot of places for Pokemon to hide here, so when Lou's eyes caught a flash of gold fur scurrying into a nearby bush, his first impulse was to follow it. He had a feeling that this Pokemon was pretty skittish, though, so he needed to be cautious. Stopping in his tracks but making sure to watch the bush, he bent down to whisper to his Skorupi, "Hemlock, can you scout ahead of us?" he then pointed at the thicket, "That one. I'm positive I saw something in there."

"(You got it!)" he replied with a mock salute. Crawling low, Hemlock circled to the back of the bush while Lou and his other Pokemon kept a bit of distance. The Poison type hesitated a bit, not sure on what was waiting for him in there, but he figured that if he could get the jump on it, then he wouldn't get hit. Steeling himself, he scurried right in, soon bumping into a pair of legs and the loudest, most incoherent scream he had ever heard.

On Lou's end, he quickly perked at the sound and watched a blur of gold bolting out of the thicket, jumping into his arms and knocking him over to the ground. The trainer groaned before getting a good look at what hit him, surprised to see a golden Growlithe shaking like a leaf. "Rrave me, Rrave me!" he barked, which surprised Lou because it was distinctively English, except with that weird "r" sound at the beginning. Also, wait a minute, Growlithes weren't gold..!

"Oh my God, you're a shiny." he muttered in utter disbelief. Sure, he had heard of shinies before. He even saw one or two owned by trainers in the course of his travels, but he never met one in the wild--moreso a Pokemon that was literally sitting on his lap. He could have a friggin beautiful gold Arcanine in his team. What a catch!

"Rrhiny?" it wasn't the first time he had been called that before. After all, apparently he had been bred specifically to be gold, and it took many other Growlites to achieve that dream. He had no idea what happened to the others, but he could only imagine bad things. It did not make it better that he was treated as a king after that. While the food was good, he couldn't stand battling at all and eventually ran away in fright. "(Wait, no, I don't want to be caught!)" he barked, pushing his paws against Lou's chest. Honestly, the Growlithe was very conflicted -- for most of his life, humans were the ones who took care of him, but their intentions were always selfish.

Suddenly, Growlithe's tummy rumbled loudly. Oh right, he hadn't really eaten yet. There was a moment of silence between trainer and Pokemon until Lou laughed. "Oh, right, I guess you were foraging for food." he assumed as he pulled out some Pokemon food from his bag, "Here you go."

Growlithe sniffed the pellets on his palm and immediately felt even hungrier than before. Ah, when was the last time he ate? Now he didn't quite care what was going to happen to him next since he just thought about eating. Within a few moments, he munched on all of the food and wanted more. "(Food? Food?)" he asked with his tail wagging.

"Sure, but I need to go back to town to buy more. You can come with?" Lou replied, figuring that he was asking for more pellets.

"(Yes, more food!)" Maybe this trainer wasn't so bad since he was offering food to him, he thought. If ever it was bad, he would just run away again. Good plan!

"I guess this could be called a success. Hemlock, come on, we're going back to Pavo!"

"(My ears hurt...)" the Skorupi complained, dizzily walking out of the bush from Growlithe's scream a while ago.
