Lou usually gives off a carefree, almost flirty presence, with strands of his orange hair often falling on his face. From all the travelling he has done, his body is mainly lean, but also well-built for endurance. He has a high preference for loose, casual clothes that are easy to walk (and climb) in if need be. Depending on the weather, he could be donning a sleeveless shirt in someplace hot along with a pair of capri shorts. Most of the time though he wears a shirt, vest, and pants. Athletic shoes are a must, along with his brown shoulder bag where he keeps his precious belongings.




Lou is a very friendly individual that is not afraid to strike up a conversation if the situation calls for it. With a grin, he'll quickly establish that he knows a lot, especially about Pokemon. Of course, he isn't perfect, but he is confident that he can immediately identify any Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn, along with their typing and some other tidbits depending on his familiarity. Still, he tries his best to make sure that he does not come across as too arrogant, since making enemies would do him no good at all. Why make people hate you when they could like you (and be a candidate for favors)?

Behind the smile though is someone who is rather selfish and a bit manipulative. While he does not battle as often as other trainers, he would argue that he observes them more closely and rigorously. Strategies are his main force for winning, not brute strength, but "winning" for Lou can very much equal "survival". He isn't afraid to run, even if others may see it as shameful. Yet all bets are off when Pokemon are on the line for he can be extremely reckless if one of his Pokemon are in danger. In other cases, if he sees a rare Pokemon, he would do whatever he could to record it, even if it meant risking his own life. One could say that his priorities are skewered, but one could not deny that he is wholeheartedly determined in his study of Pokemon.

Despite his unpleasant side, he isn't a bad person at heart--he wouldn't want to see others get hurt unless they deserved it. His morals can be a tad flexible, but he has the capacity to make close friends. He can never deny his innate and strong desire to travel, though, so he has trouble contending with the idea of "settling".

• Born and raised in Violet City, Lou developed a huge appreciation and fascination for Pokemon at a young age. As a result, he'd often get in trouble leaving the city and exploring the surrounding routes. He almost always had no company with him since he was an only child and the other children weren't too keen on defying their parents' advice.
• One of the areas that Lou loved to explore was the Ruins of the Alph. He would pick up and shuffle around the tiles in the mysterious rooms, but one time it triggered a trap of sorts and he fell, breaking his right arm. It was then he first encountered the Unown, who helped him back to the surface. One of them, an Unown A, did not really want to leave the boy, and so became his companion.
• He learned some basic tinkering skills after playing around with an old Pokedex that he bought in a garage sale. Its processor may be a tad slow, but it can still scan and store information. The Pokedex is one of his most prized possessions along with his laptop, connector cable, and his notes.
• At the age of thirteen, he started to travel around Johto with a Chikorita from Professor Elm and his Unown. While he never meant to challenge the gyms, he eventually learned that there were certain places that he could get easier access to with some badges. Still, this was never a high priority for him, and he ended up only challenging gyms that he felt he had a high chance of winning (ex. those that his Chikorita could beat). He had a blast finally seeing the Pokemon he originally saw in pictures now in person and made sure that his Pokedex scanned them. In a way, he is a collector, but only through "seeing" the Pokemon, not capturing them.
• Around a year and a half afterward, he made his way to Kanto. Of course, he visited his hometown and his parents before leaving. Once he circled the region, he wanted to go to Hoenn next, but he did not have enough money to afford a ticket. It would be after two more years of doing odd jobs and errands before he boarded the ship to take him to an entirely different land.
• He managed to visit Sinnoh as well through some connections, but he did not stay there for long since his mother suddenly fell ill. He made his way back home as soon as possible, to which he stayed by his mother's bedside until she recovered. Thankfully it was nothing too serious.
• While a little disappointed that he didn't get to go around the Sinnoh region, his father gifted him with a ticket to Stellara. He was too busy with work to travel, so it seemed like the best thing to do.
• Lou decided to leave his now evolved Meganium with his mother along with his other Pokemon. Only Al, his Unown and longtime companion, would join him to this new place he had never heard of before.

PERSONALITY — Al is a very timid Pokemon since Unown hardly ever venture out of their own dimension, and so always floats nearby Lou's side. This Pokemon is particularly afraid of loud noises, bright flashes, and the occasional machinery. It is also unaccustomed to battling, so its Hidden Power is mainly used as a last resort for protecting itself and/or its trainer. When it does not feel it is in danger though, it can actually be a very chipper Pokemon, happy to discuss what it had learned in its many travels. As a Psychic type, it can use telepathy, but because it has been with Lou for more than a decade, it usually reserves its energy for other activities instead. At this point, its trainer can figure out more or less what its trying to say without even bothering to translate to human language. To others, a conversation between them can look rather odd since it appears one-sided when it actually isn't.
