The Gang Keeps Growing [Capture]

Everett's search was soon fruitful, as he noticed a pink tail with a white tip sticking out of a nearby bush. He snuck up closely and got a Poke Ball out of his bag. Not wanting to alert the Pokemon of his presence, he slowly reared back...and chucked the Poke Ball into the bush! With a flash, the Pokemon disappeared into the Poke Ball and didn't even struggle once inside. Everett, shocked that it was so easy, walked over and picked up the Poke Ball of his new teammate.

"Huh," he grunted. "That didn't take any effort at all! I wonder what kind of Pokemon this actually is..." He threw the Ball in front of him and let it spill its contents, revealing a strange pink Pokemon he had never seen before. A quick scan with the Pokedex revealed its identity as Slowpoke. Everett was a little concerned that the Pokedex didn't seem to have many good things to say about the poor little guy, but he supposed a teammate was a teammate, no matter what! He knelt down to his new capture, extending his hand in an offering of peace. "Hi there, Slowpoke," he said pleasantly.

The Slowpoke, meanwhile, did not even seem to react to Everett's presence. After a few seconds, he slowly looked up at his new Trainer with a dopey expression. A bead of sweat rolled down the side of Everett's face as he learned how his new teammate really was. "Quick-witted, aren't you?" Everett muttered sarcastically. "You're kinda cute, though. I think I'll call you...Wizzy!"

Wizzy didn't react, instead preferring to continue staring directly at Everett. The young man wondered how the rest of his team would react to this Pokemon, but figured that would come later. For now, he wanted to get out of the rain, so he made his way to the Pokemon Center. Wizzy took a few seconds, then slowly trodded behind his new Trainer, who forgot to put him back in his Poke Ball.

PERSONALITY — Wizzy, as implied by the name of his very species, is slow in more ways than one. When not in battle, he moves at a literal snail’s pace, and often trails behind the group when outside of his Poke Ball. When in battle, he’s a little faster, but he’s not winning any awards for quick movement any time soon. It takes him several seconds to even realize he’s been hit in a battle to really feel the effects. The little guy also seems kind of dopey on the surface to most, but his teammates know the truth. Wizzy is actually very intelligent deep down, but it’s hidden by his sluggish reflexes and mannerisms. Once evolved, he’ll really bloom into a truly genius Pokemon.
