Everett and Caesar continued through the town, admiring their surroundings. It even seemed like Pokemon gravitated towards this place! There were a few different types that Everett could see and identify, but none of them seemed to be interested in approaching.
"Man, this place is awesome," Everett marveled. Caesar walked along happily, but a sudden rustling in the bushes made him wary. Everett was too distracted to notice, so he went to check out the source of the noise. He sniffed at the bush where he thought the noise was coming from, but was quickly startled by a pair of arms that latched onto his bulb and pulled him in. He gave a quick yelp for help as he disappeared into the brush, causing Everett to snap back to reality.
"Caesar!" he shouted in shock as he ran over where his Pokemon had been kidnapped. After crashing through some brush and branches, he was greeted with the sight of Caesar being carried off by a giant, blue bug. He quickly got out his Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon. It appeared to be a Heracross, a very powerful Bug and Fighting type Pokemon. "Hang on, Caesar!" Everett shouted. He rifled through his Bag and quickly pulled out a Poke Ball. "Help us out, Mango!" he called, throwing it out in front of him. In a flash, the little bird Pokemon shot out of the Poke Ball and into the air.
"(Ready for action!)" Mango squawked. He quickly figured out the situation on his own and sped over to Caesar and the Heracross. Heracross was about to bury his face in Caesar's bulb when Mango slammed into him at top speed. The force was enough to knock Heracross off balance, and also send Caesar flying into the air. Without missing a beat, Mango flew up and caught Caesar with his talons, flipped around a few times, and shot Caesar through the air back at Everett. Tears streamed across the poor Bulbasaur's face as he streaked through the air and into his Trainer's waiting arms. After making sure he was okay, Everett set Caesar down on the ground.
Meanwhile, Mango was still fighting with the Heracross, who didn't seem too happy that his meal was being taken away. Everett saw a glint in the bug's eye as he faced down Mango, fearless despite the horrible type disadvantage. With little pause, Heracross sped towards Mango with all his might, leaving a golden trail behind him.
"That's...Double-Edge!" Everett shouted in disbelief. Mango was similarly stunned, and wasn't able to react to his opponents move in time, being knocked away. With the only thing standing in the way of his meal gone, Heracross happily skipped right past Everett and went for Caesar's bulb once again. It seemed to be only focused on eating, which gave Everett an idea. "Caesar, just hold still for a sec, ok?"
Caesar was frightened that this bug was about to suck all the sap out of his bulb, but didn't want to go against his Trainer's wishes. He stood in place, shuddering as Heracross turned his back to Everett and came for his bulb. This turned out to be a big error for Heracross, as just before he got ahold of the bulb, he disappeared into a Poke Ball in a flash of red light. After shaking about a few times, the Ball stopped, signifying that Heracross had been captured. Everett, satisfied, picked the Ball up and gathered his teammates up.
"Sorry for using you as bait, Caesar," he apologized. "I just figured he was too focused on you to notice me trying to capture him!"
Caesar was still a little shaken, but regained his composure. "(No worries,)" he said in his own special way. "(I just hope we don't do that again!)"
Mango flew over, looking dejected. He had lost his first big fight! To a Bug-type, no less! Everett noticed this and smiled calmly at his bird. "You did great, Mango," he assured his Pokemon. "You managed to save Caesar pretty handily! That was some fancy maneuvering, no doubt!"
"(It was, wasn't it?)" Mango agreed. "(I'm pretty good at that kind of thing!)"
"(Pretty good at running your mouth, too,)" Caesar chuckled. Mango got offended by the Bulbasaur's comment and puffed up, making Everett laugh.
"Come on, guys," he said between chuckles. "Let's get to the Pokemon Center for now. Maybe they can help us find a place to stay here."
"(Wait!)" Caesar quipped, staring at Heracross' Poke Ball. "(Aren't you gonna give that guy a name?)"
Everett held the Poke Ball up to his face and stared at it for a moment. After a bit of thinking, he figured out what Caesar was talking about. "I guess any new teammate needs a cool nickname, right? I think I'll call this guy...Bolin." There wasn't any reasoning for the name, Everett just thought it sounded cool. With that little scare out of the way, Everett returned his team to their Poke Balls and made his way to the Pokemon Center.

PERSONALITY — Bolin is a natural born fighter. He loves getting in the thick of things and scrapping it out with whoever will take him on. His brain seems to be hard-wired for combat, but sometimes things get in the way of him achieving his goals, namely his addiction to food. Bolin LOVES eating. It's how he powers his constantly active body! Specifically, he loves eating sap. However, the most readily available source of sap at any given time is more often than not Everett's Bulbasaur, Caesar. If Bolin sees Caesar, there's a very good chance that he will drop whatever he's doing to get a taste of sap from Caesar's bulb, much to the poor Bulbasaur's annoyance. It's certainly a bad habit, but it's something that Bolin could possibly break if given time and discipline. Though he seems to lack focus, Bolin is a great addition to the team and a loyal companion for life. In moments when his hunger is satiated and he can focus, he is truly a force to be reckoned with.
