lily.drifloon the balloontailwind, constrict, minimize, astonish level five ability unburden gender female height 1'06" weight 2.6 lbs container pokeball speech a484b0 | Lily was born on a ranch in Sinnoh. She was the eldest sibling to three dozen brothers and sisters and found herself in a nurturing role at a young age. She worries about the health and happiness of those around her - so much so that she often forgets to take care of herself, too. She has a special level of concern for bony creatures (humans and non-ghost types alike) because they all seem to be so terribly fragile. The stories she's heard about gymnastics-induced injuries make her stomach churn and she's especially prone to fussing over Cat because of it. She doesn't care so much that Cat's technically her trainer or whatever; Lily's compassion doesn't discriminate. She's just determined to not let anything like that happen to the thoroughly breakable human again.
She's never been a terribly competitive or athletic pokemon but she has taken it upon herself to join Cat on her morning runs. (What if Cat fell over on those spindly little legs, or got hit by a car, or something else went wrong and no one was around to help? Lily would never forgive herself.) Though she started tagging along for Cat's sake, she actually rather enjoys moving at a brisk pace. Exercise is one of the few things she's found that calms her anxiety-riddled brain. Lily is still quite young and, until arriving in Stellara, had never been in a single battle. She's not opposed to it, per se, but she's got quite a strong moral compass. She will only fight pokemon who want to. Going after an unsuspecting target, or someone who was only fighting because a human wanted them to, wouldn't sit right with her. |
samson.spiritomb the forbiddenconfuse ray, pursuit, shadow sneak, spite, curse level four ability pressure gender male height 3'03" weight 238.1 lbs container pokeball speech a4529c | Samson is something of a know-it-all and a nerd. He takes great interest in the world around him from an intellectual standpoint, and he takes joy in being able to make new observations or to discover new things. He is also particularly keen on involving others in its pursuits: it is not uncommon for this Spiritomb to drag another pokemon or a trainer into its business so that he can enthuse about his latest discovery. However, outside these moments, Spiritomb is incredibly meek and even uninterested in the world around him, preferring to ghost about in the background rather than to involve himself in social situations or even battles. It will take some real work to get him to break out of his shell. |

patty.patrat the scouttackle, leer level five ability keen eye gender female height 1'01" weight 21.3 lbs container pokeball speech bd8341 | A short member of an already short species, this girl is a hair over one foot tall. It bothers her to no end and she's dreadfully insecure about her size. Patrat admires the big, strong, powerful pokemon of the world and has this fancy little pipe dream of becoming one of those pokemon some day. When she was a pup, it was all she wanted. Now that's a bit older, she's accepted that it's unlikely but hasn't entirely abandoned hope. A few scuffles with wild pokemon have proven two things to her: one, a size disadvantage is a seriously difficult thing to work around, and two, she has a low tolerance for pain. Even so, all it takes is a few days to pass without a fight before the pain fades into the background and her daydream of being powerful enough to make that pokemon (as in, whoever she last fought) shake in their proverbial boots.
Like most wild pokemon, she recognized that domesticated pokemon got powerful more quickly than wild ones. Her species was another disadvantage, though; Patrats are generally undesirable, run-of-the-mill normal types. Neither Patrats nor Watchogs were known for their strength or endurance or rarity or, really, anything at all. Rejections was harsh and only reinforced the idea that she wasn't worth much. But she met up with Catherine by happy accident a few weeks after a short-lived fight with a wild bird of some sort. (Patrat isn't great at remembering species names.) Just enough time had passed for Patrat to be eager about fighting again, so a new trainer was like a gift from Arceus itself.
In general, Patrat is a friendly pokemon who really doesn't know much about the world. She knows about the Breshno Flatlands, where she grew up, and about how to survive as a wild rodent, but that's about it. She has big dreams and lofty ambitions but planning is a major weakness of her. Perhaps having someone to push her will be exactly what Patrat needs - or perhaps she'll just crack under the pressure of a trainer's expectations. |
riley.phanpy the long noseodor sleuth, tackle, growl, defense curl level five ability pick up gender male height 1'08" weight 73.9 lbs container pokeball speech 5aa5c5 | Riley wants to be unique. He wants to be popular, to be friends with everyone he meets, to be the kind of pokemon that stand out in every crowd. He just... doesn't quite know how, at least not as a domestic pokemon. He was raised among his own kind, where headbutts were signs of affection and no game was more fun than the one where everyone got together and tried to knock over trees via tackling. That sort of thing. He's still quite young and more than a little obtuse, so he doesn't understand that those norms don't translate well to the human world. He happily carries on with his aggressive habits, believing that one day, someone somewhere will understand that he is just saying hello! when he thwacks them with his trunk.
He may not pick up on social cues well and he's not the brightest, but he genuinely has the best of intentions. Riley doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is amiable with just about everyone, teammate and stranger alike, and will happily strike up a conversation with anyone he meets. (A side effect of Riley being so friendly and so dense is that he's incredibly naive. It'd be all too easy to pull a fast one over on this trusting little guy and even if he caught on, he'd probably just apologize for giving you any trouble.) Though Phanpy is as sweet as honey, he isn't a pacifist by any means. He has no desire to actually hurt anyone, but what humans call battling, Riley calls playing. And Riley loves to play. |
carrie.koffing the poison gaspoison gas, tackle, smog level five ability levitate gender female height 2'00" weight 2.2 lbs container pokeball speech afa757 | Koffing are not known for being aesthetically pleasing, so to speak, which is often a prerequisite for being a performer. But that hasn't stopped Carrie from dreaming of one day taking center stage and belting her gassy little heart out. Singing is her life and it's the only thing Carrie cares about. She hums and sings to herself almost constantly, sometimes going for popular songs and sometimes spontaneously writing up songs of her own. (In the latter case, she promptly forgets whatever lines she's written. She knows she isn't a great lyricist or anything. The magic happens in her vocal chords, not her brain. She's long since accepted that.) Carrie is not a violent pokemon but she is extremely ambitious, and she is determined to evolve. She believes that, as a Weezing, she'll be able to sing lead and make the melodies all at once - it's an opportunity few pokemon species get, and one that no pokemon singer has ever dabbled with before, at least not to her knowledge.
The idea that there's a reason multi-headed pokemon aren't often singing sensations has never crossed her mind. She wants to evolve so she's prone to picking fights with anyone who looks weaker than her. (She can't risk them being strong enough to do serious damage, after all, lest they pull some stunt that injures her voice.) It's lonely at the top and Koffing is just fine with that. She doesn't need friendships to be happy and she firmly believes that the only reason to have a trainer is so that she doesn't ever have to worry about where her next meal is coming from. It's quid pro quo; she gets free food and lodging and medicine, and her trainer gets... well, whatever trainers get when their pokemon fight. Koffing has no desire to understand other people (or pokemon's) motivations. She's too busy perfecting her voice and working on becoming a star to worry about anyone besides herself. |
