Marie Nuada is not kind, compromising, or soft. Over a hundred thousand souls depend on that fact.

As the sole daughter of the House of Nuada’s main branch, Marie is expected to play certain roles. She lives by a very strict code of conduct, carefully guarding against even a single crack in her cold demeanor.

Training a Pokémon is just a small part of her upbringing, albeit one she embraces whole-heartedly. A Nuada daughter to the core, she’s as efficient on the battlefield as she is when dealing with people.

One might expect her to be cold and uncaring, if not outright abusive, toward her Pokémon. In that case, one couldn’t be more wrong. Marie has a relationship with Constantine that’s best described as “teeth-clenched teamwork” – he’s a shareholder in their joint venture, not a tool to be used and abused. Besides, she’s not stupid enough to abuse anything that can kill her with its mind.

Having come from a very wealthy background, Marie isn’t used to the more…rudimentary parts of life. The basic skills many people take for granted escape her many more times than she’d like to admit. This is a flaw she’s cognizant of, and she’s trying earnestly to broaden her exposure to the world through experience.

Despite all her wealth and pedigree, Marie secretly yearns for the freedom being a Pokémon Trainer brings. She knows she lives in a gilded cage – if she could, she’d trade it all away for the chance to be a truly free Trainer.


The House of Nuada is a 600-year old aristocratic family, with holdings in virtually every enterprise in Stellara. Their members have been involved in virtually every industry imaginable, although the bulk of their current income comes from real estate.

A Nuada heir’s life, however, is far from as glamorous as their pedigree. Raised according to a strict regimen since eight years of age, they’re taught all the nuances of society life. For the females, this typically culminates in being married off to someone similarly well-established and connected, for the family’s greater advancement.

Of the latest generation’s main branch, there are three heirs – Louis, Charles, and Marie Nuada. 

When she was six years old, Marie caught in passing a Pokémon championship battle on television. The power and freedom that a Pokémon trainer wielded entranced the sheltered young Marie, and she immediately began to read as much as she could on the nuances of Pokémon battling.

Initially, Marie’s decision to become a Pokémon trainer caused a minor scandal within her family. Family elders found it unbecoming for one of her pedigree She refused to relent, however, and eventually her parents granted her permission to embark on a limited Pokémon journey before resuming her duties as an heiress.

At 18 years of age, Marie received her first Pokémon in a ceremony along with her brothers. It was a Zorua, a relatively rare Pokémon with mastery over illusions. It came pre-named Constantine; much to her surprise, it could talk and assume illusory human form.

PERSONALITY — Constantine is Marie’s starter. The Zorua at first seems to be the worst possible fit for the young lady. A consummate troublemaker, he loves being the center of attention. Constantine’s philosophy is simple; look out for number one, and only help others if they help you eventually.

Therein lies the overlap between Marie’s and Constantine’s personalities. Marie’s goal is to experience as much of the Pokémon world as she possibly can, while Constantine’s is to become as powerful as he possibly can. They both understand that they can only achieve this goal in unison.

Constantine is capable of human speech via telepathy, and can use his Illusion ability to make himself look like a young boy or a gruff (if handsome) middle-aged man.
