»» DOCTORS use their medical training in order to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in both humans and Pokemon. Considering that the Pokemon World is full of dangers, Doctors are rightfully treasured and respected since Pokemon (and often their Trainers) are bound to get hurt at some point. Sometimes, Doctors will either work in a Pokemon Center or open up their own offices, though there are plenty of traveling doctors to help anyone in need.
»» RESEARCHERS are those who study Pokemon such as Pokemon relationships, habitats, breeding patterns, attacks, evolution and much more. Accomplished researchers often become Pokemon professors and work towards educating the public about Pokemon, but researchers can choose to travel the world instead. Researchers use their expertise to gather valuable information about Pokemon and trainers and then apply that information to their training regimes.[/ul]» AFFILIATION — Unaffiliated

SKIN COLOR — Dark Brown
ABNORMALITIES — Healed scars on face.
Ayers Vale is an adult in his mid-twenties with dark skin and brown eyes. He is not a particularly showy person in terms of appearance, save for the scars etched into his face. It gives him the appearance of someone who has seen and gone through plenty of adversity, and to be fair, it’s true. By now, Ayers is used to curious glances, stares and questions about them, but he’s thankful that the scars did not mar his face entirely. Other than that, there’s nothing about him abnormal or out-of-place. His build is a mix of average and lean; part of the reason why he’s alive right now is because he took time to make sure that he was physically fit. His black hair is short and coarse, and he keeps his face clean-shaven.
He also has a tendency to wear a white lab coat whenever he goes, even going so far as to throw it over whatever casual clothing he’s currently wearing. Call it habit, but it’s mostly due to Ayers getting more into academics, including topics regarding Pokemon.
PERSONALITY
If anything, Ayers is the epitome of modesty. He could stop a falling meteor with a finger while sipping tea whilst doing twenty backflips all while saving people in a burning building and still say that he’s really isn’t that amazing or impressive. While his humility can become ridiculous at times, it also means that he will very rarely show any signs of being big-headed or arrogant.A good-natured being, Ayers willingly tries every day to make sure that his moral compass stays on point. He's noticeably selfless, often worrying more about others and their well-being than himself. He's all about assisting others in need and going above and beyond when it comes to self-sacrifice. In fact, some might view his selflessness as unrestrained idiocy. He's more than willing to bare the pain of others but when others suffer because of him, he has a tendency to crumble and cave immediately to whatever demands are placed before him.
Ayers is incredibly intelligent and resourceful. He knows how to work with what he’s got and he has a knack of finding clever ways to solve problems and overcoming adversity. This form of “intelligence” is more valuable to him than straight “book-smarts” in some cases, especially the situation he’s in concerning the Pokemon World and its near limitless dangers and perils. Along with his resourcefulness, Ayers is wise as well. There’s a stark difference between intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence indicates knowledge. Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge to make good, rational decisions. Ayers knows how to use what he does know in order to make sound choices and decisions.
Self-consciousness isn’t necessarily bad; it gives one a sense of awareness on the things they do and how they project themselves onto others. However, when taken to extremes, it cripples free will, thought and stifles growth and development. Unfortunately for Ayers, his level of self-consciousness is nearing the extremes. It doesn’t help that he tends to be anxious as hell, especially whenever he’s dealing with someone or something that he’s not familiar with. He worries about what they think about him, if they’ll like him or not, if he’s presentable, among a myriad of other things. Again, it’s something that he can improve on and hopefully erase; however, it’ll take time, patience and persistence for that to happen.
Ayers is patient, but he doesn’t stand for foolishness. It’s already bad enough that there are a bunch of kids running around with Pokemon, thinking that they own the world; it’s even worse when there are criminal organizations intent on bringing about the end times or ruling the world. Now, he has all for individuals entering the realm of Pokemon, but it annoys him to no end when these same individuals think they are hot shit just because they have a few badges under their belt or if they have an impressive Pokemon team. For the most part, Ayers is good at masking his negative emotions, but sometimes, he will let people know about his disapproval in the most tactful way possible.
He can be surprisingly brave when he needs to be but for the record, Ayers’s still pretty wimpy. In fact, when it comes to conflict, he’d rather avoid it entirely. However, he knows just as good as anybody that sometimes fighting is the only option. He’ll just leave a majority of the fighting to his much more capable Pokemon. Plus, Ayers gets scared easily. Fangs, claws, scary eyes and any other intimidating features or appearances will have him looking like he’s face-to-face with the monster that lives under his bed. It’s extremely ironic to think that this description describes his Pokemon team.
BACKGROUND
“When I was little, my parents told me that I could be anything that I wanted to be so long as I put my mind to it. It’s funny that I believed them, yet I did not follow through it with my actions. I wasn’t a bad kid. I made good grades and stayed out of trouble. However, I was too content. Everything that I did was part of a Ayersine, and I did little to deviate from it. For me, Pokemon training was an afterthought. It wasn’t an actual job; it did not guarantee any sort of security. That's what I wanted: security. Plus, I just didn’t have the ability or personality to be a Pokemon trainer. It was something that my friends and parents were all into though, and I would often go watch them compete. Sometimes, I would dream of being able to be just like them, but that’s all it was: dreaming. I knew that in reality, I had to keep to what I was good at.”
“Time seemed to pass so quickly. It’s like in the blink of an eye, I’d grow a year older, and as I got older, I soon realized that I was staying in the same spot. Sure, I steadily got better jobs with higher pay, and I quickly became independent with a stable source of income. However, even so, I didn’t feel like I really accomplished as much as I wanted to. I was only sticking with what I was comfortable with, and that had placed me in a rut, born from complacency and inaction. I didn’t truly enjoy the style of research I was doing. I was only doing it because … I was good at it.”
“Eventually, I told myself that it was time for a change. I might be twenty-five years old, but I am still young. There is still a chance for me to change my life for the better. Lately, I had become increasingly more interested in actually having a Pokemon team of my own. It did not matter if I would be starting training much later than the average person; if I had the will and desire to be a trainer, then I could be a trainer. My research team researched heavily into Pokemon, and once I told them of my desires, they would be willing to sponsor me to travel a region of my choosing to pursue Pokemon training and further my own individual research.”
“The only problem was that I had to have at least one Pokemon with me. I really didn’t want to resort having to go to a professor’s laboratory for a Pokemon, and I definitely was not going to test my chances trying to befriend a wild Pokemon. So, I visited the local Pokemon adoption center. There were plenty of Pokemon to choose from, and I was soon overwhelmed with all of the possible choices. However, there was one particular Pokemon who caught my eye. He was a male Sneasel, one that was rather large for his species. He looked perpetually angry and had an extremely intense look in his eyes. It was a stretch, but I decided to approach him. What I didn’t expect was for him to be receptive to me. He was surprisingly talkative, and he had many goals too, very aspirational ones. What did he see in me? I still do not know. However, I knew that he was willing to give me a chance of being his trainer, and I did not want to pass that up.”
“I have just arrived in the Stellara region. I’ve heard of it briefly and how unique it was compared to other regions. Of course, I also heard about its famous Pokemon League and how it was notorious for being one of the most difficult Leagues to compete in and conquer. Honestly, I don’t think I have much of a chance of qualifying for the Pokemon League. Vize says otherwise though.”
“Either way, this is my chance to start things anew. This is my chance to break the mold. This is my chance to put my doubts about myself to rest.”
“I cannot afford to screw this up.”
STARTER
NAME — Vize
LEVEL — 5
SPECIES — Sneasel
EGG GROUP — Field
ABILITY — Inner Focus: This Pokemon is protected from flinching.
HELD ITEM — None
GENDER — Male
HEIGHT — 4’0”
WEIGHT — 90 lbs
PERSONALITY — Vize is quite the interesting Pokemon. While he has plenty of negative personality traits, he does have some redeeming qualities. When Vize gets a goal in mind, there is little that can stop him from attempting to achieve it. It doesn't matter how much work he has to put into it or how much pain he has to cause to make it a reality; if it's within his grasp or in his future, he'll go for it. These goals often involve securing his and Ayers’s success. His determination is admirable, and he has solid discipline. For example, Vize maintains a strict and intense training regime. Unless he's near-death, crippled or horribly preoccupied, he won't miss a day of training at all. He has a great sense of humor and will often crack jokes whenever he feels they're appropriate, whether they are considerate or not, and he is known for being witty and crafty. Now, Vize can be incredibly antagonistic. For one, Vize is freaking brutal when it comes to combat. For him, there are no rules; anything goes and when he starts fighting, there’s no holding back for him. His goal at that point is to beat whoever he’s fighting into a bloody, crippled pulp. It doesn’t matter if they get killed or not; it’s their fault for challenging him or pissing him off in the first place. It doesn’t even end there; if you wrong Vize or anyone he cares about, he will do everything in his power to get back at you. Trust, he can keep a grudge for a VERY long time. An angry Vize is a VERY SCARY Vize. In short, don’t get him angry if you know what’s good for you. With his short temper and loose morals, Vize often clashes with his more laidback and virtuous trainer. However, it’s all love. Vize is just passionate in his beliefs and only wants the best for himself, his friends and perhaps most importantly: his trainer. When Vize is fully evolved, he’ll stand at a staggering 5’5” and weigh 120 lbs!
