DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE
The river passes through the jungle metropolis, wide and opaque. The water is green, darker in the shadows and more pale in the light, but still green, even with only the full moon above for illumination. Towering buildings shone like beacons above and behind a boy beside the riverbed. Cooper gazes upwards to the lush trees above from his spot on the park bench, the buzzing of his fellow bug pokemon and hoots of some distant Noctowl invading his ears.
The grub boy huffs as a louder buzz echoes beside him. "H--Hey, Cheerie." Cooper greets his partner, who popped right out of her Pokeball. The Yanma quickly hovers over, cooing with rhythmic buzzes and wing flaps. She flew around her trainer with a happy chirp before eyeing her trainer curiously as he spoke. "So... Uh..." Cooper twiddled with his sheathed hands.
"...I can't be the only one that feels like w-we're being watched, r-r-right?" Cooper voiced, slightly fearful. Team Crux was always around the corner, and the grubbin boy was no good at battling. Cheerie chirped again, hastily turning around and snapping at the darkness viciously as a tiny dragonfly could manage, challenging whatever waited in it's depths to come and face them. "W-wait--!" Cooper winced as his partner ever so readily reared her head towards danger, with the boy standing up as the bushes on the other side of the town's river began to rustle...Cheerie roared again- though it was more of a squeak, but she tried. Cooper shivered, peering out from behind the bench now.
"...I-I'm blaming y-you if this goes b-b-badly again."

DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE
Cheerie watches as a Bounsweet leaps out of the bushes. The little bug rears her head to prepare a Quick Attack, but... The sound of footsteps behind her draws her attention. Cooper had dashed off somewhere in fear, causing the little dragonfly to sigh. With a quick call, the bug flew away from her would-be opponent, chasing after her morph trainer...
After a quick search, Cheerie would sigh in relief when she found Cooper in a patch of bushes, his telltale hat giving away his location. Just as the boy was about to come out after Cheerie did a brief scan around for other pokemon nearby, the bushes behind the two shook once more...

DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE
A loud screech echoes from behind little Cooper- a Pinsir of all things emerged from the bushes! Cooper leaps out, staggering backwards and taking off once more, with a tired Cheerie in tow that briefly apologized for disturbing the scary brown bug pokemon as they left.
After a good five minutes of nonstop running, Cooper stops and pants in the streets of the city. He looks up to one of the streetlights, happy to be able to see in the dark now. Cheerie huffs and lands on her partner's head, eyeing a ever so slightly rustling trash can now...

personality made by staff@sketch Like all of his kind, Deino is blind, which, in his/her case, is very unfortunate. Deino is extremely clumsy and often stumbles into things, which it then attempts to eat. It's not uncommon for this Deino to be seen covered in bruises or scratches from having run into something, though it appears unperturbed by these accidents. Deino is always on the move, looking for something to eat. It is not above stealing food from people or other Pokemon, which typically results in more bruises. Deino is a fierce competitor, but it must be rewarded with treats after a battle or it will simply wander off in search of the reward it deserves. |

DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE
Cooper yelped for the hundreth time as a nearby trash can toppled over. The boy finally gave in, curling up on the cold ground and shivering. Little grunts and growls echoed in his ears while Cheerie stood her ground, growling right back... Alas, the bug would tilt her head, eyeing the new Pokemon rather strangely.
A Deino happily muched on some leftovers passing humans had left in the trash, paying no mind to the trainer and his pokemon. The little dragon lowered her head and sniffed around, fumbling about. The blind dinosaur bumped into the wall and jolted, but paid no mind when she'd turn her head to catch a whiff of a stray, fresh and equally delicious, half-eaten steak that had been thrown out only moments ago. "Deiiiin!" The pokemon called in glee, trodding over and beginning to wolf down on the scraps. Cheerie couldn't help but to chuckle.
The Yanma moseyed over to Cooper, shaking him gently. The boy peeked out of hiding, briefly flinching at the sight of the little dragon. Cheerie whistled again and pushed Cooper to his feet. "...O-Oh, uh..." Cooper began, eyeing the little dragon. The blind pokemon raised her head and turned around, head high in the air and nostrils flaring as Cooper's scent was picked up, along with something else. Toddling over once more with each step mismatched, resulting in the tiny dragon tripping over her own footing more than once, she'd approach the shivering Cooper and his Yanma, who was perched on his head now. Despite Cooper's fear, Cheerie just chirped with a smug knowingness.
Cooper was petrified as the little dragon sniffed him out, passing his personal boundaries and putting her head right up to his chest. "Dei!" The dragon called, her head pressed against Cooper's pocket. She teethed at the fabric on his shirt, causing the boy to shiver-- until he caught eye of the goodies he had in his pocket. "Oh... Uh-- d-do you want this?" Cooper spoke, reaching into his pocket to pull out a plastic baggie filled with cookies and candies that Cooper had stashed away. "I... I was saving it for later, but if you're hungry then I gu--" Cooper began, only for the little dragon to leap forwards and tackle him down to the floor. Cheerie hovered in the air, saying something to the pokemon in their own mystery language, though it elicited no response from the hungry dragon.
The snacks had splayed out all over Cooper and the ground beside him, leaving the flailing boy pinned down with a forty-pound dragon. The little dinosaur gobbled up the stray goodies, licking some off of Cooper's face... Oddly enough, the little Morph found himself laughing. He raised his little sub hands, putting one on the Deino's soft fur... Looking at the little creature now, Cooper could make out many bruises and bumps on it's blue body, and some singed and cut parts on it's dirty fur. "Deino! Dein!" The creature called again with a waggling tail, now licking the Morph's face, even though all the food was gone. "Heheha! S-S-Stop that-- that tickles!" Cooper spoke, managing to push himself to his feet, though the dragon was still squirming and chirping happily in his hands. "...You were hungry, huh?"
Suddenly, a shrill call from Cheerie echoed, alerting Cooper and the blind dragon. The blue and black creature raised her head, whipping her attention to another, different shrill call that was all too familiar for Cooper. Cheerie backed away from the Pinsir they had alerted earlier, it's eyes blazing with anger and pincers snapping... "C-Cheerie!" Cooper called as the Deino slipped out of his grip. The little creature hissed and leapt forwards, firing a mighty Dragon Rage attack right at the Pinsir's face. She landed atop it by accident, hitting her head on the thing and rolling off, dizzy. Cheerie wasted no time, slamming the brown bug with a Quick Attack and hissing right back.
The Pinsir snapped once more, but a combined shout from the Deino and Yanma made it retreat, but not before saying something about revenge later to the two Pokemon. "...U-uh... T-t-thanks, you g-guys." Cooper trotted over, earning a happy call from both Pokemon... Though, the Deino prodded over, sitting down with her tongue out, seemingly expectingly waiting for something... Cooper blinked and tilted his head, earning an impatient groan from the pokemon, followed by a growl of her stomach. "O-oh, food? I-I think I have one more snack..." Cooper reached into his bag, pulling out a few Pokebeans for his new friend. She sniffed about, beaming once more as her reward was offered. Fresh food from trainers was always so much better than scraps in the trash!
Cooper tilted his head, once again eyeing the creature's bruised body... It clearly wasn't living the best of lives in the wild... So, maybe... "Uh... I-I can't keep calling you Deino, so... H-How's the name... uhhhhhh..." Cooper paused. Not wanting to keep an awkward silence, he'd spot a stray bag of snacks, picking up a good name idea. "Chip? How's that sound to you?"
The dragon didn't take her attention off her food for long, but offered a call of affirmation. When she wolfed down the last of her goodies, Cooper reached into his pocket, holding out a glimmering red Pokeball... "...I-I know you might not want to, but... I-If you do want to, you can come with me and Cheerie." Cooper smiled, geniunely for once. "We've got lots of snacks, but... I can't say it'll all be safe and stuff all the time, since me and Cheerie... have a few enemies, so..." Cooper sighed, eyeing the dragon, Chip, who seemed deep in thought now. What to do?
